BIG DAY for Rose and I today!
I did not have any place to put my phone, so no pictures unfortunately. But, I will fix that for later so I can show you guys a little bit of what we are doing.
I took Rose to work with cattle for the first time today! First I warmed her up, checking the gas and the brake, worked on all 5 body parts to get her soft, turning and stopping and all that. Then I loped her quite a bit in a pasture before I loped her down the dirt road until we got to the little starter yard there. And then I worked her some more there while we waited for us to be needed.
Then the fun started! We helped pull some cattle from 3 pens, and some from a big trap with a lot of cattle in it. And the ones in the trap were not easy to pull! They tried us and did not give up easily.
After that we had to sort them, and
Rose did so good the whole time I almost forgot she's green broke. I'm so proud of her and so pleased with her effort to try do good all the time, and with her attitude. Even though some of the stuff is new to her.
We did it, we got every one we wanted out of the pens and the trap, and the sorting went well. All of that with no typical colt issues at all. Rose also has nice, comfortable gaits. I could have just rode her forever and never getting tired.
I really wish I had my camera there, it would have been good pictures!
Rose you are a keeper, that's for sure! ❤

My new partner in crime, intern and friend, Alex and I dropped in to the Kentucky National this weekend for the Zone 5 Horsemanship class! It’s an amazing honor to have sponsored yet again amazing winner who is so deserving of it. Congratulations, Hailey Johns! I can’t wait to paint your special boy. You’re such a bright light and an inspiration or all upcoming junior riders.
Now Alex and I get to spend the rest of the weekend painting and enjoying the rest of the show 😁🙌🏻
