When it comes to PB&J sandwiches, the thicker the better I always say! 2 fresh white bread sliced sandwiched with thick, crunchy and nutty peanut butter and topped with spoonful after spoonful of chunky, fruity strawberry jam! And cut into soldiers of course! Who loves a PB&J
Did you know that your liver is one of the most important organs you have! I mean I knew it was important but to read up on all the things it does for your body is like... woah 🤯. Your liver filters out all the toxins from the waste and blood. It aids us with digestion by manufacturing proteins, metabolizing fat (in fact your liver metabolizes 80% of your body’s fats), storing nutrients and carbohydrates, & it also purifies 4 pints of blood per MINUTE.
My husband and I decided today to do a 21 day detox to cleanse our liver and reset our pH levels. We are looking at it the same way we look at changing the oil on our car. I found this concoction after reading several detox plans on Pinterest. After some research this seemed the most sensible and easy to follow because it requires minimal ingredients.
I did spend about $50 on all the ingredients but this should last both of us the full length of the detox and maybe another round.
The detox drink is simply:
* 4 oz pure UNSWEETENED Cranberry Juice. (I found highly concentrated cranberry juice at our local health food store. With the cranberry I bought you mix 1tbsp with 4oz of water! But not concentrated is fine as long as you’re being sure to buy sugar free.)
* The juice squeezed from 1/2 of a lemon. * 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar with the mother. * Liquid B-12 drops. (The bottle I bought was 5,000 mcg per tsp) (this is an important ingredient because detoxing actually strips your body of your B-12 vitamins. This is helping us replace what we are losing!) * Ice, ice baby! Literally, the colder the better. (Because I imagine this is what butt taste like. 💩) Taking this in the morning is sure to give you a boost of energy thanks to the B-12.
While doing the detox try to eat sensibly and eliminate all alcohol and as much sugary drinks as possible. I’m confident eliminating alcohol, drinking more water and hopefully craving less carbs (thanks to detoxing) will help me shed a few pounds as well!
I’ll post after the 21 days and let you know what we thought of the detox!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have you had Khinkali
Khinkali is a Georgian dumpling which originated in the Georgian mountain regions of Pshavi, Mtiuleti and Khevsureti. The fillings of khinkali vary with the area. The original recipe consisted of only minced meat (lamb or beef and pork mixed), onions, chili pepper, salt, and cumin. However, the modern recipe used mostly especially in Georgian urban areas uses herbs like parsley and cilantro. Mushrooms, potatoes, or cheese may be used in place of meat.
Khinkali is eaten plain or with ground black pepper. The meat filling is uncooked when khinkali is assembled, so when it is cooked, the juices of the meat are trapped inside the dumpling.
Khinkali is typically consumed first by sucking the juices while taking the first bite, similar to xiaolongbao, in order to prevent the dumpling from bursting. The top, where the pleats meet, is tough, and is not supposed to be eaten, but discarded to the plate so that those eating can count how many they have consumed.
There is a widespread etiquette in Georgia to use only one's bare hands while consuming these dumplings; the using of utensils, like a fork is considered incorrect or childish This is due to the tastiest part of the Khinkali is its juice, and using fork will rupture the Khinkali and the juice will be spilled.
Make sure to visit Melbourne International Dumpling Festival to taste some of the finest Khinkali.
