Realised it late. Better late than never.
Don't focus too much on isolated workouts!
Into my 4th month into my workout, my strength and physique has not increased substantially. After reading up and sharing with many awesome peeps, I realised that I have been spending way too long in the gym focusing on isolated workouts.
Thus I am going to do more heavier compound workouts from now.
🏋🏻️♂️ Compound workouts
- uses BIGGER & MORE muscle groups
- thus you burn MORE energy (carbs / fats)
- you can lift alot HEAVIER
- have MORE muscle growth
💁🏻♂️ Isolated workouts
- uses a specific & SMALL muscle group
- thus you burn LESS energy
- you can lift alot LIGHTER
- have LESS muscle growth
⏱ I am now trying to keep my workouts to 80% Compound and 20% Isolated.
Isolated workouts have their benefits also to shape your physique and create BALANCE for your body.
If you train chest alot, but do not train your lats, your body may become uneven and even strained as the stronger muscle keeps pulling on the weaker muscle.
✅ Focus on compound workouts
✅ Use isolated workouts as finishers

Sorry for the late post, been busy with my social life and away from social media.
For all you guys & girls out there, I want to say be better version of yourself & keep staying happy everyday and never let a single thing break you down. I was in a bad mindset at one stage and I broke, I eventually grew away from that and let things go. The more you that negative thought it will grow on you and that’s what I didn’t want in life. That’s how I improved myself in life & grew better with all positive thoughts. Don’t let little things ruin your day.
Every failure in life comes improvement. We all need to mature and learn from mistakes. No one is perfect all we have to do in life is self-improve and become positive.
Remember in life there’s no such thing as giving up but to try harder and be better. ✅ .

Cheeky Tuesday Squat session alongside @_mr.prt himself today, and although it wasn't overly heavy it was still pretty awesome. I decided to take the advice from my last squat post on board (shock, right) and slow it all down a little bit. And breathe, cause it helps. Who knew Anyway, they're on the improve and that's the important part.
Also, the other component of that bloody Fran Crossfit wod - my first Thrusters in 2.5 years. Just as clunky as the butterfly pullups the other day but most of them look legal to me. Close enough for government work at least, and they had the desired effect of getting my heart rate above Unmotivated (it's an official level) for a change.

I enjoy being alone, a lot, but I am very outgoing and social. My environment dictates how I behave. Sometimes I’m loud, sometimes I’m quiet. I read the energy and adjust. There are times when I want to turn up and then there are moments where I want to read a good book, or process thoughts alone!!
