“Life means your health. The healthier you are, the more life you experience. Better health not only lets you live out all the days of a longer life, it also lets you live more life in each and everyone of those days. Poor Health is like a cloudy, smoggy day. It cuts off the sunlight. Let your health get bad enough, and you lose your life all together” taken from a page of the Slight Edge.
Watching my great uncle being carried out on a stretcher last week because of diabetes and then my grandmother falling the same night and also being rushed to the ER really got me thinking of how important it is to take care of myself now for the sake of the future me. I choose to fuel my body and move it everyday in hopes that I’m not in that position one day. Every time you eat or drink something you are either fighting disease or feeding it. Take care of yourself now so your not regretting it later. #healthiswealth #treatyourbodyright

I’m not sure what it is about Grinnell college, but memorable moments seem to happen for me there! My first All-American performance ever as a coach took place at Grinnell, when my VWU athlete Marissa Coombs finished 7th in the nation in the mile. Then, yesterday, after only 5 weeks as the Head Women’s Coach at Coe College, my athlete Kat Stai won her first collegiate race ever out of 136 competitors. I guess I need to bring athletes to Grinnell more often! #grinnell #iowa #coecollege #kohawks #coexctf #crosscountry #racing #champion #memorable_moments
