I’m typing away this afternoon in my writing porch...and I hear the front door open and close.
I keep on writing and glance out my window and see my BB’s truck in the drive.
I hear a little rustling going on downstairs and then a moment later...the squeaking of wooden stairs as my bearded beloved comes up the old steps.
I look up and see my BB carrying roses. “I don’t know how to arrange flowers...” he trails off as he holds up the most beautiful roses. I’m so touched because I now realize the rustling I heard downstairs was my beloved looking for the perfect ironstone pitcher...and him cutting the long stems and arranging them just so.
I smile big and thank him with a kiss.
They literally fill the porch with their lovely scent. I tell him they are the most perfect roses and that I love them.
I wish I knew a way to express to him that because they came from HIM, they can’t help but be perfect.
True love isn’t about flowers, candy, perfume, or jewelry. It’s about the “rustling” of the heart when you see your loved one wanting to please you.
If only men knew how easily it is to “rustle” our hearts. As I sit in my chaise, I admire the beautiful roses he carefully arranged and placed right in front of me.
I continue to type as he decided he needs a short nap before we head out to the gym. I watch him walk down the hallway to our bedroom...Wilma at his heels, tail wagging happily.
Before I start to type again...I decide that this is probably one of the best Valentine’s day I could ask for.
We live pretty darn simply. But we are very grateful for those special moments.
Wishing you a very special evening and may your heart feel a little “rustling” of God’s love for you.
Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s evening of contentment my friends. ❤️😊 #

Well Valentines arrived and I was no where near ready. Seems like a theme lately with the holidays. 😔😖🙇🏼♀️. I did manage to get Valentine art on my pantry door (thanks to my nephew) and a few hearts and vintage valentines scattered here and there. Maybe I can manage a few more pictures before switching over to spring decor. 🤷🏼♀️ #valentinesday #vintagevalentines #valentinedecor #ironstone #hearts
A simple Rose for a simple kinda woman.🌹 Happiest of Valentines days to all my pals.
I hope you all did something wether you celebrate your partner, your sidekick, or your best gal pal, YOUR self, a family member, your pet or whatever makes your Valentine’s Day YOURS.
Today my handsome stud took his lady out for breakfast. When I say I crave it every week I don’t play around. He did good, and always does by me. I am the luckiest and I adore him so.
Very thankful that my Valentine is him forever until the next life after this. ❤️
Happy Love Day, friends...I'm so thankful for each of you! 💗 I picked up some sentimental tulips for our family supper table tonight...white since they were our wedding flower with delicate pink now in the mix for my girls. Looking forward to all of us enjoying supper in with my mom and hot apple crisp for dessert.
Have fun celebrating the important peeps in your life. Remember that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean that they don't love you with all they have. 💗
Love and blessings, sweet friends...
Happy Valentines Day my sweets! 💝
It was a busy day prepping for my kiddos after school goodies. They know momma goes all out for them making chocolate covered strawberries and an array of their favs 😋
This gallery wall makes me so happy. I can change it with the season, holiday, or because it’s a Thursday 🤷🏽♀️ It will see a refresh here soon to blend in my family silhouettes and maybe some new antique finds. My staples stay such as my sewing drawer and baby ironstone pitchers as well as the antique mirror. But a little switch of other pieces allow for a new feel. And you know we are all about the ever changing decor here on insta 😂
I am now going to try and snag a few strawberries before my kids eat them all. Hugs to you, my Valentine xoxo
Pretty sure I used to tell my children “no balls at the table” when they were young. Maybe if they brought these delicious BLUE & WHITE carpet balls it’d have been a different “ballgame” altogether. 💙💙
I’ve had so much going on and have been missing IG. I decided to take a pic of my first meal today 😮, after packing & shipping. Seasoned fries in the air fryer (hey it’s something 😂) on a pretty vintage ironstone plate. Princess JiJi decided it was time to eat too 💕.

The holiest of holidays are those
Kept by ourselves in silence and apart;
The secret anniversaries of the heart,
When the full river of feeling overflows;-
The happy days unclouded to their close;
The sudden joys that out of darkness start
As flames from ashes; swift desires that dart
Like swallows singing down each wind that blows!
White as the gleam of a receding sail,
White as a cloud that floats and fades in air,
White as the whitest lily on a stream,
These tender memories are;-a fairy tale
Of some enchanted land we know not where,
But lovely as a landscape in a dream.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
