Saturday was International Dot Day! Florence might have made us behind by a week but we made it and we’re here. We read about little Vashti in Peter H. Reynold’s The Dot. Kindergartners starting learning about color theory and mixing with primary and secondary colors and they learned what happens with you add a touch of salt!✨ “Make a mark and see where it takes you.”
Kindergarten has started the year off learning about Piet Mondrian and his use of primary colors. We used crayons for the lines and painted the shapes we created with tempera cakes. #mondrain #kindergartenart
So thankful for @cassie_stephenz and all of her fabulous lessons! It’s extremely helpful to start the year with some tried and true lessons! I’m currently running 2 1/2 of Cassie’s lessons in my room. (I’m also doing circle loom weaving and I adapted part of another one to a 1st grade project I’m doing) It makes it so much easier to focus on consistency with procedures this time of year when I’m not worried about whether or not a lesson will flop. I’m so grateful for all of you art teachers out there who share your amazing lessons! #thankscassiestephens #cassiestephenslesson #artteachersofinstagram #artteacher #artteacherlife #kindergarten #kindergartenart
I'VE GOT MY BLACK WALLS!! Straight into it after a few days away, and so happy to continue watching this thing turn into what I've seen in my head for ages!
One of the things I've wanted to have in there for ages is a gratitude wall, so I'll be putting down my things for that everyday over the next 90 days and see how much can be filled.
My private students that train here are also more than welcome to join in and add the things they're grateful to what will become an incredibly amazing creation I am super bloody excited about.
Adding to that, I believe one way I can improve what I've been doing is to share more of the things I'm grateful for, so I'll be doing that on my insta stories each morning.
Will look more at some of the things I do to help boost and maintain health as a daily ritual and practice so if they are some things you'd be interested in make sure you're following my insta!
Keep being awesome 😉
