Sorry I’ve been gone for a few days, I was losing motivation to film my workouts, but I am back!! This one targeted all of the leg! A good one to start the week with after not doing legs since last Monday oops. I’m noticing that I’m increasingly getting obsessed with trying variations of movements and reps. Since I’m not using heavy weights (for back squats, leg press, dls, etc), I have to do more reps or increase my TUT to really feel my muscles working. Doing more leg days with lighter weights but more reps/TUT has been shaping my legs more than when I just do heavy lifts, and honestly not mad bout it! Heavier lifts are great for gaining strength, but the change has been nice. I’ll be back to heavy leg days soon.
🌸4x12 landmine squat
🌸4x15 heels elevated goblet squat
🌸4x10 split squat + 12 jumping split squats
🌸4x10 banded toes elevated rdl (band works booty, toe elevated works hamstrings more)
🌸3x12 alternating lateral lunges
🌸4x12, 1xfailure glute bridges (legs at more than 90 degrees to work hamstrings more)

Do this to improve your squat! 🏋️♀️This is such an awesome drill to evaluate yourself.. I see so many people who regularly squat heavy loads yet are unable to do this at all. Tag your squat partner, your Crossfit buddy, or your coach and give this a try!
This exercise is great for more than just the erectors! Be mindful of your pelvic tilt and lumbar curve when doing this. You do not want a massive anterior tilt and arched lower back. You also do not want the butt to curl under and the lower back to round while doing this. It’s not that either of those things is bad when done with body weight, it’s just that the idea is to simulate a weighted squat and to be able to maintain your positions throughout the movement as if it were weighted.
This is going to really activate those back muscles to keep you nice and upright- especially if you are allowing the hands to only graze the wall. Do not use them to just push yourself upright. Get those back muscles working hard to keep your torso straight up.
