A bit of a different post today about Dynamic Warmup + Activation.
Check-In with the Boss yesterday means my training blocks will need to be the first task I complete each day - opposed to my day's getting away on me.
This means that my knees are at a disadvantage with earlier training blocks, making training feel like an absolute chore + I can't be about that life! .
Banded Crab Walks, Monster Walks & Isometric Leg Extensions are my Go To for my leg days to not only load my knee tendons but to activate my lazy glutes (Coaches have weaknesses too 😂)
55kg Squats for 5 Reps, 6 Sets were alot less taxing today so now it is about being organised!
30 minutes is what it took today to get warm but I am thankful to not be running to a schedule today! .
Today's Lesson: Failing to Prepare is Preparing to Fail. Failure in this instance was my inability to prioritize my own training now that my food is at #zerozerozero

🔥Stiff leg deadlifts for leg day with my client @j.yi88 🔥
This exercise should be thrown in your leg routine. While squats and lunges also work the hamstrings, for the most part, the quads take the load. Of all the leg exercises this is one of the best ones for your hamstrings.
It’s important to keep your back straight, hands about shoulder width apart and legs very slightly bent. Always remember to keep your neck in line with your spine.

First session back in light wraps since October. These felt harder than expected, but most disappointing of all was almost everyone telling me I wasn’t hitting depth. I always do my best to get as deep as I can every rep and every set, even warm ups, it’s what I’ve always done as being called for depth in comp is the last thing I’d ever want. Looking from the front these probably look deeper than I’ve done in a while, but guess from the side they mustn’t be.
So I’ll do everything I can to improve mobility and hope I can find more depth somewhere. If not might be time to hang up the squat shoes and get back to golf with the other old farts. 🤷🏽♂️ .

Might not be the typical fitness guru gym pic with defined muscles and what not but, i could careless. Why Simply because I’m not ashamed of where I’m at. I want to be raw and real! I’m no where near perfect and I never will be and I’m okay with that as long as I feel good mentally and physically it’s all good! Starting weight is 160, down to 154 in this pic and my goal is about 130ish 🙌🏼🔥

Work went by fast this morning, but I came home and took a nap after eating lunch. Whatever I’ve eaten since I got back into town has made me SO bloated and I’m really hoping it’s not almond milk because 😭 we fixed dinner and I planned to hit the gym for leg day afterwards. There was a hitch in my plan though. My “bad” hip was bothersome. But I got my butt to the gym and did some low impact leg exercises and 20 minutes on the elliptical. Then I came home to bathe the puppers. They weren’t amused lol. Learn to take it easy, not to quit. 💪🏻 #LegDay #HipProblems
This journey is not about a quick fix or just fat loss for me, it’s a complete lifestyle change and that doesn’t happen over night or a couple of months! It takes time and lots of dedication 💪🏼
It’s been a little over 8 months since I decided to make these changes and although I did see and feel results very soon after starting, I’m still getting even better ones each month ☺️
Most recently I’ve discovered that I am able to look at the components of a meal and pick the parts that make a complete macro meal pretty darn close to the gram without MyFitnessPal and that’s such a great feeling because I truthfully don’t want to track macros forever. It’s just not sustainable for me. My current goal is to track until summer time and then learn to intuitively eat and I’m feeling very confident about my ability to do that!! ❤️❤️
When you have a new career that takes up 8 hours a day + personal training clients a few hours + managing my own online wellness/ coaching business + running a web design multimedia studio, 24 hours a day isn’t enough but you manage to get your workout in because you’re committed 💪🏼🌟💪🏼 I’m back from recovery and hitting it HARDER than ever even if my schedule seems impossible!🤓 It’s all about taking your health in your own hands and taking control!!!❤️😍❤️ 2019 is the year of GRIT!!!!
