🍫 CACAO / Chocolate / Ciocolatte 💃🏽

So if you haven’t realised by now, I love cacao. If you haven’t, then the 50% of my recipes which include cacao must have somehow gotten by you 🤔 .
But for good reason 🤗 Cacao (NOT cocoa) differs from cocoa found in a lot of commercialised chocolate products because it isn’t heated to extremely high heats, which protects its precious vitamins, minerals and antioxidants from damage.

Benefits include.
1️⃣ Extremely high in antioxidants: specifically polyphenols and flavonols.
➖ Flavonols lower blood pressure and improve blood flow.
➖ Polyphenols regulate cholesterol levels by increasing HDL (good fats which remove bad fats).
2️⃣ Magnesium Rich: essential for muscle and nerve function. Magnesium can also act as a muscle relaxant, so good for when you’re feeling a wee bit stressed.
3️⃣ Mood Booster: sends message to the brain to release two neurotransmitters, PEA and anandamide which have positive effects on our mood and focus!

➕ When buying in the shops look for brand like loving earth, pana chocolate which have less than 5 ingredients and the *cacao* content is 70% or above.

Winter vibes all day! After a long successful day of work, thanks to my hubby @louieflexx and my mom for pushing me to squeeze a workout in before I go back to work some more 💪🏾, I’m tried, and tired of being tired, but never tired of the hustle! I’m also quite proud this off season on how well I been trying to keep my body on check! .

Post competition update, Stage weight was 103-105lbs and I fluctuate between 115-118 currently! And that’s with decent diet, I don’t count or track I just prep and eat when I’m hungry and I’m enjoying my treats here and there! And I’m st the gym 4-5 days a week and no cardio (I need to start 😫) work has been keeping me away from the gym more than I like, but after the holidays I’m hoping things will slow down a little 😅

I’ve wanted thin legs my whole life...I hated having big thighs and calves that never fit into cute boots, and I always wanted to be a size 2 or 4 like most of my friends in highschool. Genetically, I know it will never happen for me. I got the strong European genes from my dad and the women on his side all have hips and thighs! I never appreciated my natural figure until I realized the amount of women that are stick straight ..and how much they wish so bad to have curves...like me. But I wanted to be thin like them..messed up isn’t it?!

it’s a vicious cycle comparing yourself to others who unknowingly may compare themselves to you and wish they had something you have!

Bottom line: appreciate, love, and admire the things that you have. It took me months before I could lift heavy weights or even swing a kettle bell but I trusted myself and built strength and listened to my body. If I was tired I rested, even if it is for 2-3 days, listen to your body don't push it beyond its limits. This is how you build strength. Leg day😉😉 filmed the last exercise at home as my battery died at the gym😤😤. Fitness doesn't get easier you only get fitter and stronger. It took me months before I could lift heavy weights or even swing a kettle bell but I trusted myself and built strength and listened to my body. If I was tired I rested, even if it is for 2-3 days, listen to your body don't push it beyond its limits. This is how you build strength. You can’t say I’m soft.

Improving upon what you have is an important aspect of lifting and to do so I need to focus on two aspects of my squat. Moving forward I will be narrowing my stance just a hair along with keeping my knees from going in. These two things will help both my knees and my numbers!

My body is sooo sore from upper body on Sunday and legs this morning that I needed some turmeric tea to help me settle in for the night. Turmeric is an amazing natural anti-inflammatory and is one of my tried and true comforts for DOMS and an achey body, whether from exercise or illness. Week 2- day 1. ⬇️ supps- @completenutrition_columbia.mo 
Week 1 of this body recomposition wasn’t perfect. I crashed and burned on the weekend. Today I woke up too late to go to the gym before work. I came home from a 10 hour shift, ate my prepped dinner, and fell asleep. I Woke up at 9:00 p.m. and the last thing I wanted to do was get up , go out into the cold, and go to the gym. However, I knew I would be disappointed in myself if I didn’t go, so I got up grabbed some caffeine and crushed leg day. Week 2 is off to a strong start and I need to just keep moving forward. I need to stop dwelling on my mistakes of last week. We seem to think failure is weakness. We beat ourselves up if we fail or don’t do perfect, but failure is going to happen and in failing we grow. Just like when we train our muscles , training them to failure , only then will there be growth. From breaking down the muscle over and over it grows and becomes stronger. So failure will happen it’s how you use that failure that will either determine growth, by picking your self up and keep going, or giving up, and only then will failure be weakness.

I came home from a 10 hour shift, ate my prepped dinner, and fell asleep. I Woke up at 9:00 p.m. and the last thing I wanted to do was get up , go out into the cold, and go to the gym. However, I knew I would be disappointed in myself if I didn’t go, so I got up grabbed some caffeine and crushed leg day. Week 2 is off to a strong start and I need to just keep moving forward. I need to stop dwelling on my mistakes of last week. We seem to think failure is weakness. We beat ourselves up if we fail or don’t do perfect, but failure is going to happen and in failing we grow. Just like when we train our muscles , training them to failure , only then will there be growth. From breaking down the muscle over and over it grows and becomes stronger. A veces sentimos que queremos darnos por vencidos, que aquello que estamos haciendo no esta dando frutos tal vez porque no obtenemos resultados en el corto plazo. Debemos tener claro que cuanto más dificil es algo, mayor será la recompensa. No seamos impacientes, todo es cuestión de darle tiempo al tiempo. Squat work sets from yesterday.

I did 3 doubles going up in weight each set. I hit 157.5kg/347lbs, 170kgs/375lbs and 182.5kg/403lbs. I did 2 back off sets of 5 after at 155kg/342lbs.

Squatting felt pretty good even though I almost got stuck in the hole on the 182.5kg/403lbs double lol. Definitely need to stay tighter coming up from the bottom.

my fave @meggangrubb showed this jacket in her recent holiday haul so I had to buy it along with a few other things hehe 
i have struggled to sit down all yesterday bc of booty doms from tuesdays lower body day! usually i do 10+ exercises for like 2 hours but this was much shorter but effective 
activation:
@gracefituk ‘s booty burner guide - one of the non RB circuits! i would use the RB but i left it at the gym & it was never to be seen again ☹️ workout:
1 - 4x8 sumo deadlifts 
2 - 5x10 heavy decline leg press w wide stance 
3 - 5x10 heavy hip thrust 
4 - 4x20 dB walking lunges 
5a - 3x10 cable kick back (strap above knee!!!! feel it so much more thank u @sjamesfit) 
5b - 3x10 RB hip abduction 
6 - 3x10 per leg single leg hip thrust with plate 
7 - weighted hyperextension (with a curved back, google it lol) 
i am suffering lol i alternate my lower body days between a glute focused one and a hamstring focused one!! #ukfitfam #fitfam
