Nothing inspires more than love and tequila. Still high on #inspiration from my trip to #guadalajara I witnessed the union of pure love btwn my friends Sammy and Jenny #holamylove We also toured the oldest tequila distillery in the town of Tequila in Jalisco. #josecuervo really has it dialed in and you know I’m partial to that fire water. 🔥In the midsts of all that I went to the jewelry market and thought my head was going to spin off my body. 💖Soooo many shiny things are coming... starting with these #feather #earrings that I made to wear at the wedding. Dm me for a pair of your very own and be on the lookout for new drops!

"True balance involves a complex interplay of permission, courage, awareness, and self-compassion. ... When we're compassionate with ourselves, we grasp an emotional and bodily experience of what living in balance feels like from the inside, for us." @jenlouden
Remember to go easy on yourself. Feel into what your body needs. It may very well change day to day. Don't beat yourself up for saying "No." Your body knows more than anyone what you need to create balance in your life. Honor that. Once we start to honor our own balancing act, then we can understand others and honor theirs too. We get less offended when people decide to stay home instead of go out or tell you they can’t help you with that project. "It means recognizing that you often have to say "No" because you don't have the energy or time to do everything or satisfy everyone. It means first listening to your needs, then to the needs of others. Only then can you bring the two together to find the imperfect juncture where everybody gets a little bit of something they need and want." - JL
Here's today's exercise from the article: "Balancing Acts". Practice #3: Draw a circle in the middle of a piece of paper, leaving a fairly wide margin. Put the list of things that bring you balance in the circle. On the outside list the things that don't. Include poor habits and energy draining people. Use color if you like as well. Just make a all in one place visual of your current life on it. The good and the not so good. You can then start to SEE how well balanced you are.

I had a breakdown this morning trying to renew my drivers license. Normally I don’t do things like this but @tonylupinacci Is on vacation. For the past 10 years I have had someone writing my emails, making my appointments, scheduling my phone calls, coordinating my travels, running my business, paying my bills, and handling every aspect of my life. And although I am eternally grateful for the help, I have also become an invalid! And now simple things like renewing a license feel completely overwhelming to me. I almost cried scrolling through the DMV website. I realize it’s time to start taking my life back, and to not be completely dependent on other people to help me. And I am going to do it! If you have become a codependent child like myself, just remember, every moment is a chance to turn it all around. I am going to wake up early tmro and go to the DMV! Any and all prayers welcome. 🙏🏻 Will keep u posted...

One tablespoon at a time!
Symbolism always sneaks up on me. I drink my morning coffee every single day and never thought much about how it’s made. For every cup I plan to drink, one scoop goes into the filter.
What if these scoops represented decisions One choice. One action. One right thing... all moving towards the harmonious balance of a perfect cup of coffee. Would I expect this grand satisfaction if I were missing scoops Of course not.
And with that, I’ll let the thoughts continue to brew. The day is young and the coffee is strong. Take care.
It’s #wakeupwithintention Wednesday and today I’m choosing to be Fierce.
Have you read @jensincero How to be a Badass How you put this great venture and idea out to the universes and then, almost instantly it feels like you’re playing dodgeball (and losing) with the obstacles the universe is throwing at you. That has been my week. One thing after another being thrown my way, out of my control but necessary to deal with. At first my lens was frustration and anger thinking how can I do it.
But you know what. I survived. I also have this vision for you friend and it’s coming to fruition and it is so worth fighting through the obstacles to bring you what you deserve: to be fiercely authentically you, living your best life and doing what makes YOU feel alive. It’s letting your light shine to radiate to others, giving them permission to do the same. If we can all show up in this radiating way, think of what is possible in our world. Love. That is what is possible. Compassion. Empathy. Fierceness in what is worth fighting for.
Also, if you haven’t read (or listened - I loved the audio version!!) that book - do it. Now. It WILL change your life.

"We must . be aware . that we never make choices in a vacuum, but rather with a complex cultural backdrop. We live in a world that values productivity over connection, growth over sustainability, and speed over just about everything." @jenlouden 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻
Part of trying to find balance is becoming aware of where we are out of balance and not beating ourselves up about it. It happened, we fell out or maybe we were never in. It's OK. Once we become aware and realize what type of ingrained patterns we have due to upbringing and social stigmas about people who don't meet the so called 'norm' .. then we can shift our course. But until we recognize that this affects us, due to constant comparison to others, we can not shift. So lets drop the self judgment and just check in with ourselves today. ❤️❤️❤️
So today lets try exercise two from "Balancing Acts":
*Grab your journal and favorite pen. Set your timer for 10 minutes. Now, with out judgement or stopping to review what you wrote ... write the following and answer it.
"What gets me out of balance is..."

What is most important is not the end game...it is the process in between...it is the effort...it is observing the mind with its constant chatter of what you can or cannot do, who you are, who you are not, what you like, what you don't like....blah blah blah... what lies behind all of this chatter is stillness...and our yoga practice reveals this stillness in all of its beauty....classes Tuesday @5.30pm Open Vinyasa, @7pm Open Beginners with Steve; Wednesday @9.30am Open Vinyasa with @joeybracs @5.30pm Open Vinyasa or @7pm Open Intermediate with Steve.
We would love to share the practice with you ❤

PSA: THIS MIGHT JUST REVIVE YOUR SOUL // Creativity in uncertain times has the potential to pull people out of the darkness and into the light. It relates so much to recovery: moving forward, grasping onto joy, growing and expressing your spirit. Recovery is about letting the light back in, even if you fall along the way, because those cracks are how the light will find its way to you.
“This is your assignment: Feel all the things. Feel the hard things. The inexplicable things, the things that make you disavow humanity’s capacity for redemption. Feel all the maddening paradoxes. Feel overwhelmed, crazy. Feel uncertain. Feel angry. Feel afraid. Feel powerless. Feel frozen.
And then FOCUS.
Pick up your pen. Pick up your paintbrush. Pick up your damn chin. Put your two calloused hands on the turntables, in the clay, on the strings. Get behind the camera.
Look for that pinprick of light. Look for the truth (yes, it is a thing—it still exists.) Focus on that light. Enlarge it. Reveal the fierce urgency of now. Reveal how shattered we are, how capable of being repaired. But don’t lament the break.
Nothing new would be built if things were never broken. A wise man once said: there’s a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.
GET AFTER THAT LIGHT.”
