🧠Stability is the bodies ability to resist force, strength is the bodies ability to exert force and mobility is the freedom to get into end range.
⚓️When it comes to stability, which is often overlooked, it's positionally related, meaning we can't train stability in our shoulders for example when our hands are out to the side, we can train strength there but not stability. We have to be over head to train stability in the shoulder, (assuming we have good mobility to get into that position).
🤸🏻♂️Often we can't express the strength we have overhead because we are in a structurally unstable position and we don't have enough functional stability strength there.
🏋🏻♂️If we incorporate exercises where the joint is structurally unstable (training stability), over time we will be able to exert force in a structurally unstable position and thus become stronger there. Training stability will also protect the joint and help guard against injury.
💣 The bottoms up KB press is a great exercise to incorporate as it's all encompassing of shoulder mechanics, it makes sure the scapular is moving correctly, the thoracic is moving properly and will also challenge the muscles of the rotator cuff. Before you do any press work, try 2-3 sets 6-8 reps controlled at a light weight.

Number one rule to surviving #zombieland
Zombieland 2 comes out today and I couldn't be happier. The zombie genre is one of my favourites and the first film set a trend for meta, comedy-horror films. Furthermore, this film somewhat inspired my goals when returning to fitness in my mid twenties.
It was @pattowon and I that started to frequent our local gym together and with the help of a personal trainer friend we decided an appropriate goal should be MINIMUM, fit enough to survive the Zombie apocalypse.
This meant pull ups, push ups, squats and you bet your arse there was cardio!

✨ I QUIT THE GYM ✨
I’ve been a member of several gyms since year 10. I started serious weight loss around year 10-12 and gained a lot end of year 13-1st year and I still haven’t lost any of it (let’s be real here) .
I kept going to the gym because I felt that’s what I do - I train at a gym. I took several breaks and extended breaks and there were many sessions I wasn’t feeling and generally yo-yo(ing) .
Today I took a plunge, I joined a 6-month membership at a CrossFit gym! I cancelled my Les Mills membership and took a diveeeee 🏋🏼♀️
People always tell you to find something you enjoy! Whether it’s 🧘🏼♀️⛹🏼♀️🚴🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️ and if you hit a slump- reset your goals, mix up your routine! But the issue there is routine - you can MAKE A NEW ONE!! Mixing it up doesn’t always work! Just scrap your routine and build another - hot yoga, Pilates, run club, Zumba Just completely trash it 💅🏼 .
