Do you know the taste of childhood Or the scent In my childhood there was bread at home, baked by my mother with fresh oat seeds that were put in water overnight. In addition there were sunflower seeds. And added a bunch of yeast🤗 Based on the recipe from the spelled-wholegrain-Rye bread from the @brotmagazin of 06/18 (by the way seen @nussschneckerl 🤗😘) I have the spelled completely replaced by oats and freshly ground. In addition Inadded my Lievito madre and sourdough Martha. It smells like childhood ... and tastes even better❤️
magical weekend pie✨
French Toast Breakfast : Kids didn’t go school today so I had time to make these!
Thick white bread slices soaked few minutes in (Eggs+Almond milk+Pure Vanilla Extract+Cinnamon powder+Salt) and pan fried with I Can’t believe It’s Not Butter in Lodge Cast Iron pan and add Banana slices, almond slices, bacon bites and last but not least, Maple Syrup!
I think any pan fried foods made in cast iron pans taste better😋

Scored a Dutch Oven with skillet cover.
I guess I can now say I have a tiny castiron collection right
2 skillets and a Dutch oven.
I think this is all I need....for now. I don’t really think there is anything else I want but knowing me, I probably shouldn’t say I won’t get anything else. I am enjoying castiron cooking right now, as you will see in future food posts :)
The two new pieces are seasoned and ready to go!
Think this is a decent collection for now Anything you would consider essential

Experimenting this time with Kristen’s @fullproofbaking method and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I’m loving the open crumb the most. This is a keeper! 80% @kingarthurflour bread flour and 20% KA whole wheat. Autolyze for 3 hours, added the salt, rested for 30 minutes, added the levain, again rested for 30 mins, followed by lamination, rested for 45 mins and S&F every 45 minutes (3 in total). ~6 hours of bulk forming and 12 hours retard in the fridge. Baked at 450 in a Dutch oven. I did notice my starter (Julia) needs some strengthening. Will be working on that before my next loaf.
alrighty guys - meal prep for the workweek is done! 🛒💯 And it’s an amazing hybrid of @whatsgabycookin fajita skillet + chicken enchilada bake with my own low carb twist.
With layers of corn tortillas, classic fajita veggies, chili verde cauliflower rice, and my chipotle shredded chicken - this skillet is super filling + veggie forward (I think next time pinto beans would make an excellent swap for the chicken but I just didn’t have them on hand).
Plus, a healthified elote 🌽 topping made with charred corn, greek yogurt + cotjia cheese. Everything from @traderjoes (except the tortillas) made this a pretty cheap meal. I also love that I can just scoop this out into a tupperware and take it to work.
Tag me in what you do to make your work week easier! #eatsandbeatsdc #healthyish
is it summer yet this one-pan lemon chicken & artichoke skillet has me wanting allllll the warm weather 🍋 .
Mix together the juice of one lemon, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp pepper, 1.5 tsp salt, 1 tbsp unsalted melted butter OR 1 tbsp olive oil. .
Drain one 14oz can of artichokes and place on a lodge cast iron skillet with 1 lb chicken breasts (about 4 breasts). Pour your seasoning mixture all over the canned artichokes and chicken on the skillet. Sear the chicken and artichokes for about 15 minutes, flipping throughout, then bake at 400F for 7(ish) minutes or until chicken reaches internal temp of 165F. I topped mine with some capers and sliced lemons and ate it over a bed of kale! Tastes like summmaaaa ☀️
