We are SO excited for tomorrow’s reception and awards ceremony for “ABOUT FACE: The Portrait.” This has been one of our most popular juried competitions with more than 200 truly incredible entries representing a full range of mediums. But it also made it very difficult for our jurors who labored for hours! But decide they must....come by tomorrow, Sunday 9/8 from 3pm - 5pm to see all of the amazing entries, find out who is awarded and support your favorite artists!
And enjoy this sneak peek!! Douglas Barnaby, “The Hat Lady,” oil

Join Debbie Wells from the Art Circle for an armchair tour of the Whitney Biennial on August 8th from 6:30-8:30pm.
Understanding what the artists are trying to accomplish will give you a better appreciation of the works on view... The Whitney Biennial is the longest running survey of American Art and a MUST-SEE for anyone who wants to see art of the moment.
What makes the Biennial unique
- Designed to be the voice of young artists under 40yo
- Female artists in record-breaking numbers - Diversify in artists background and expression.
But ALSO there’s always a major controversy behind the scenes — find out more about that as well as the current protests with us!!!
Did you know that besides classes and workshops for kids and adults as well as lectures and exhibitions, The Art Guild is also "home" to several working artists
Indeed, just a few steps above the gallery you'll find 3 open plan studios where artists come to get inspired and create. Studios are shared and a private, locked closet is provided. Here, artists are assigned a permanent space to set up and personalize their work area.
We also recently launched our new Open Studio Time for members which is a great solution for artists to create in our first floor studio on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30pm - 5pm (subject to change). Open Studio artists have access to an open spot based on availability in the common studio —- just bring your supplies and get creative!
Take a look at what it's like to be in some of our studios at The Art Guild and let us know what you think!
