Current view is my drink of choice Vodka with 15 calorie pink lemonade 🙊 Chilling with Gigi since Bella is sleeping out, Quimes is in his apartment in NYC and Maria is hanging out with “shorty” (all his friends have some nickname). Maria has known his friends for years and they keep him grounded and aware of where he comes from. I have been quiet on social media lately because the holiday season kicks my ass. I have already had a neighbor and family party from one side. I literally had my husband and kids shop for me because I’m done and never started lol. By the time I get to the end of the year I am totally checked out and coasting. Thank goodness I took off from the day job until the New Year because I really don’t think I could have “faked” that I was working especially with the f’ing reporting shit we have to do at this job now. My schedule for the next few days is tomorrow at 10am my mother and step father are coming over along with my brother Eddie who is my support in life. He is making some cute little egg things and I’m getting bagels. Other than a few signature meals I don’t even pretend to cook. It’s just one of the things in life I have NO desire to master. We will be celebrating my moms wedding Anniversary early because naturally got married on Xmas Day. Why wouldn’t she! So along will all the holiday happenings we make sure to celebrate her anniversary since it is the ONLY thing Jehovah Witnesses celebrate. Then Xmas Eve we go to my Uncle Greg’s. Luckily I offered to get chicken dumplings from @iavaronebrothers We stay there until about midnight. When I say “we” I mean my children and I because Maria will be home relaxing. Once we get home the tradition used to be my kids get to open one gift from their stocking which turned into one gift of their choice and then the past two years turned into open everything on Xmas Eve so we can sleep in. My daughter told me today we are NOT opening all the presents on Xmas Eve this year so we’ll see how that goes for her lol. Personally I’m fine either way but pretty sure my 27 year old son prefers Xmas Eve. After that on Xmas day my fathers side comes over and at least 7 are spending the night.
Part 52: I refused to go to DR unless we were staying in a resort not the #campo with #lagente . So when I tell the stories of how we saved and had money keep in mind we were not traveling at all during this time. I grew up going to Florida 1-2x a year and on vacations though out my childhood so I didn’t have that desire most have to do a lot of traveling. My father really enjoyed it so we went at least once a year even after my parents split. While we were on this trip I’ll never forget the moment Maria 👮🏽♂️got the call from the NYPD saying he would be starting the background process to go into the Police Academy! This was it! All that work he had done to get his GED, his AAS, and all those civil service tests had paid off. I always thought he’d make a great cop because he was super street smart, a bully, and liked to boss people around. All copper qualities no!🙊 Once we got home from the DR the background process started. The packet to become a cop in #nyc is HUGE. Naturally guess who helped get all the documents together and filled out a lot of forms. Yup everything we did was a #team effort so if helping meant he would get the job and ultimetly get us great family benefits instead of the crappy ones I had from CAN that cost $900 a month I’d do whatever it took to help. CAN wasn’t the worst basically the entire industry sucked when it came to medical benefits. There was an individual plan and then a family plan which was the same whether you have one child or five. There was a background and phycology test as well a s a physical to enter the academy all of which Maria passed. Once he entered the academy he started getting paid $25,000 as an employee of the police department. That summer he also put his motorcycle up for sale. He listed it in newsday and was planning to buy me a real wedding ring since the one I had was cheap from consumers. Remember that catalog store. Maria showed the bike to 2 people both in the backyard who saw him take it out of the shed that did not have a lock on it. He had the bike uo for $10,000. A few nights after he showed it we went out with my uncles and got home late. When we woke up in the morning the shed door was open.

Here’s a mock-up of an upcoming window treatment project using @thibaut_1886 Fabrics. Do you know how to sew I don’t and I really wish I knew how. I mean, I guess I could still learn but it’s a skill I wish i had. Just me and my glue gun for this mock up. It’s pretty sad that i don’t know how to sew because both of my Italian grandparents were in the business. My grandfather was a tailor making coats and my grandmother worked in a mill for 27 years. Me- I’m lucky if I can sew on a button. Maybe something to explore in 2019. #longislanddesign #windowtreatments #thibaut #shellbankinteriors
