Artist Diego Garcia hosts the Opening Reception for his solo exhibition "Summit" tonight at the #MainStreetGallery, 213 Main St., Huntington. From 6pm to 8pm, the native Long Islander showcases his newest body of work. Garcia's artistic journey began with graffiti art and taking honors classes at Brentwood High School. At 25, Garcia is now showing his paintings across Long Island and New York City. "'Summit' is very special to me," Garcia says. "Since my first solo show in 2015, I have embarked on a journey of self evaluation and growth. My mission to inspire youth and depict emotions comes with strong convictions and certainty. ... I have painted extroverted emotions and experiences of joy, wonder, and exuberance. I have painted introverted emotions and experiences of loneliness, timidness, and fear. ... We all can relate to these feelings, both child and adult." "Summit" is on view through April 27, when the Closing Reception is held from 7pm to 9pm.
