I never used to feel comfortable in my own body. I'd have anxiety about wearing bodysuits in ballet class, having to stare at myself in the mirror all day. I would critize the way my stomach looked and the way my thighs touched. I'd try to eat healthier and workout more but nothing ever changed those thoughts in my head.
Well here we are a few years later, I am in that same bodysuit and I can confidently say I am happy in my own body. I can eat junk food without thinking "omg I messed up." I can go a few days without working out without thinking "I got fat." And to be honest, it's a relief because I don't know how much longer I could have lived like that. So I'm here to tell you...it's not your fault, you aren't a failure, you just need some guidance in learning to love your body #bodyconfident

lately I’ve been feeling like I haven’t been making that much progress but then I found this picture from February and see that I have made progress, even though it’s just a little bit lol don’t give up on your goals you guys! I plan on recording a Youtube video soon on some leg/glute workouts that I do, so watch out for that y’all 😁

Have you ever hated the body your in I mean like really hate it to the point you wish you were someone else Someone who had it all the perfect body with the perfect face,laugh , smile, etc. That was me. Since I was a little girl I was told I would end up like the people on my 600 pound life looking like them. I would often here people saying that fat girl this or this was the most common one, she’s aight but I don’t like big girls. Now it’s become such a popular thing to like “thick girls” but do you know what we’ve felt It took me a longggg time to finally embrace myself . Not give a fuck what anyone has to say. I’m so grateful for this year. Apart from all the bullshit and sadness I’ve felt the one thing that makes me smile are these photos. I’ve learned to love myself FOR ME! Even if no one else can accept it. I’ve been influenced by so many beautiful women this year and that has helped my journey so much. My belly,stretch marks,cellulite doesn’t faze me. It only enhances my beauty and I just want more women to feel the same. I know I still have a lot to work on within myself but my body is not ONE! I am HAPPY. I am BEAUTIFUL. I am ME.! These skinny jeans used to be tight on me, and now I have to replace them because they are TOO BIG!! 🎉🎉
When I get asked why I’m still doing this program and why I don’t want to eat a pile of sweets this holiday season, this is why. Because I have worked hard for this!! I’ve lost weight I thought that I was stuck with! I get to go shopping for new jeans smaller than what I’ve worn since high school!!

Research on happy people shows:
1. They slow down to appreciate life's little pleasures.
Happy people know how important it is to take in the moment. Take a deep breath and enjoy the day.
2. They exercise!l!! (UMMM...I've been telling you! )
Getting your body moving for as little as 15 minutes releases GABA enzymes into your brain according to Harvard Medical research. Happy people schedule exercise into their routine.
3.They are givers. They help others.
Research shows that spending money on others makes you happier than spending on yourself. Helping others gives you much more joy than the one you helped. I have found this in my line of work for sure!!
4. The surround themselves with positive people
Happy people are contagious. Be a light to others by the way you are confident and look for the good in others.
5. They stay positive
Bad things happen to everyone, including happy people. Instead of complaining about how things could have been, think about what you are grateful for.
6. Happy people get enough sleep
Happy people make sleep a priority. (sorry young moms, you will get to sleep sooner than you think!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7. They have a growth mindset

This body has been through some STUFF.
From depression, to borderline obese in teenagehood, to anxiety, to yo yo diet after yo yo diet. To marathon & hours of running, to muscle gained, muscle lost. To emotional eating & binge eating, to growing a tiny human while have gestational diabetes. To stress, to happiness, & joy. To being used and abused, to being loved by others & myself.
But after all is said and done. This body is MINE. And I'm proud of everything my body and I have gone through to get to this point.
Because my body and I are fierce, we are loving, we are sexy, & we are a warrior. .
I have stopped hating her. And began loving her instead, & now we are unstoppable. I don't need to fit anyone's standards, be a certain size or look a certain way. Over the last week, I’ve had some annoying pimples pop up out of the blue. I always break out around my mouth and chin area. It may not seem like much but, today I woke up with a painful whitehead on my lower lip. Don’t get me wrong, I’m so happy with how my skin has improved over the last year and I don’t want to sound like I’m stressing out over one measly pimple. But, when you have PCOS, it can be hard to tell the difference between a hormonal breakout and just one annoying pimple.
For the average person, a pimple is just an inconvenience. But, when you suffer from a hormonal imbalance that causes acne, a pimple can be very discouraging. I’m always worried that I’m not doing enough to keep my symptoms in check. Which leads to a perpetual fear that ALL of my symptoms are coming back with a vengeance.
As women, are hormones are always in a constant ebb and flow. When you add insulin resistance and increased androgens into the mix, it gets harder to listen to your body and differentiate between normal and abnormal.
When I went off birth control, my hormones were all over the place and I was constantly playing a guessing game. Every day my body challenged me with new surprises. I knew something was wrong but, I couldn’t figure out why. My body started to control me.
When I finally went into treatment, it had been so long since my hormones were stable and I had to relearn the natural rhythm and function of my body.
Since I usually get minor pimples around the time of my cycle, I’ve had to remind myself that a pimple can also be indicative that my hormones are doing what they’re supposed to.
I guess my point is that we don’t have to be a slave to our symptoms. They don’t always have to send us down a spiral of concern.
I never thought I’d say this but, I’m happy that a pimple can be just an ugly inconvenience and that something so basic can teach me to love my flaws and the beauty of being a woman.
Don’t take your hormones for granted and keep shining ✨

Today I’m grateful to the women in my family—my women—my mama and my sissy.
I started and ended my day today on FaceTime with each one of them. If I ever wonder or worry that I’ve stopped growing, all I need is to look at my relationships with them. Not perfect—but we are all always growing, always trying be better, always trying to love each other with more patience and understanding.
As I’ve aged, I’ve been able to let go of any idealized vision of sister/sister and mother/daughter relationships I’ve held in the past, and appreciate everything we do have.
Above all else—we are all FOR each other. Knowing that, and feeling that from them, gives me strength, every single day.
Can’t wait to be reunited in a couple weeks for the holidays and binge on sugar cookies and @maiseltv ! 🎄❤️🎄❤️

What does it mean to love your body
I used to think I was above all the “body love” stuff because I had a pretty good self-image. I was never trying to diet my way into a smaller pair of jeans or skipping dessert because i couldn’t afford the calories. So I’m good, right I love my body
Wrong. It took me a while to realize that I viewed my loss of strength and health the same way other people view weight gain. While some girls hate their bodies for being too big, I hated mine for being too weak for CrossFit, too tired to stay out with my friends, and too fragile to push its limits.
If a change in your body makes you uncomfortable, I HEAR YOU. It’s not always about weight. There are so many different parts of our bodies and spirits that we can pick apart, detest, and try to change - or that we can love, care for, and embrace.
This is a journey, and it’s not easy. I’m not saying I’m the perfect role model for viewing and treating myself with love and compassion, but I recognize the importance of trying. Our bodies respond to our inner dialogue, so you sure as hell better be making your body feel safe and feel loved.
As always, the message today is to #chooselove. Who’s with me 🙋🏽♀️
