And to bring in the #kaboos on this #showhouse story.
Just a few last notes on shape selections and why...
-WHY CURVES, WHY SUSTAINABLE, WHY CURATED -
The statement palladian window above the french doors were a big #inspo for what to include MORE of. I really wanted to take that curved element from the top of the room, and then repeat it in the mid level, and then again on the floor level. So we played into the curves on the #barrelchairs, and the round rug below.
This fireplace feature has a kid friendly wall texture called #lusterstone. In lieu of doing a flat wall paint, we gained texture, dimension, and resilience as far as upkeep with this design choice. As is, the durable #upolstery, since it's all in hands reach of the #littles!
The combo of cool and warm is evident throughout. The dark #bluegreen wall covering (I can just hear the twittering of the birds chirping away) is in perfect opposition and #balance with that wonderfully saturated #coral. That hot coral added excitement and a sense of welcoming to the room. A lot of folks like to use these tones in their home because they are very, very inviting*
I specialize in curated collections of meaning for the #homeowner. I take it pretty seriously because I feel like it personalizes, and makes the a home, not just a functional or staged space. It's free game; you cant mess up! Be it— whimsical art by a local artist, antique textile stamps, rustic and colorful pottery, or some inconspicuous #moodlighting. these are all intentional, sought out elements to reflect a personal sentiment. .
This room definitely left its mark on me. Loved working on this🙏🏻

Many of you may not know that I'm a faux finisher of over 17 years. This bathroom in timeless Lusterstone was created for a Med spa client. This makes this room hard to leave!
Since today is #SwapIdeasDay, we want to share a faux recipe with you!
Here is a “leather” finish we love.
You will need the following materials- tissue paper (the large sheets you wrap gifts with), white eggshell latex paint, @fauxeffectsinternationalinc Snow white Luster Stone, a trowel or rubber scraper, a small paint tray and small 4 or 6 inch roller.
1️⃣Crinkle up the tissue paper and then smooth it back out. (this helps the wrinkles form)
2️⃣Starting in an upper corner, generously roll a section of the wall slightly larger than the piece of tissue paper. While the paint is still wet, apply the tissue to the wall, tap it with your fingers purposely trying to leave pockets that can become the wrinkles. Smooth the tissue out with the palm of your hand and then immediately roll another coat of paint on top of the tissue you just laid down. Be careful not to “over roll”, you just want to secure the paper down. Then, continue rolling your next section, rolling an area slightly larger than the tissue and repeat. Slightly overlap your second piece of tissue with the first so that there are no bare spots on the wall.
3️⃣Once you have all the tissue up let this dry and then roll a solid coat of paint over the entire wall. This will glue down any loose wrinkles and hit any spots that were a little light on paint.
4️⃣After the wall is dry, use your trowel to “backfill” the tissue wall with the @fauxeffectsinternationalinc Lusterstone. You want to be firm enough to remove most of the Lusterstone but not too aggressive as to tear the paper.
