The Salon Chinois at Château du Grand-Lucé
Château du Grand-Lucé is a hotel palace in the Loire Valley, about an hour train ride from Paris. The chateau was originally constructed between 1760 and 1764 for Baron Jacques Pineau de Viennay. It was built to host "both royalty and profound philosophers of the Age of Enlightenment". In the Salon Chinois, the walls are covered with murals by the artist, Jean-Baptiste Pillement, depicting life in Asia. "These painted walls, by the artist, are today found only in two places — the Petit Trianon, Marie Antoinette’s private garden palace at Versailles, and at the Château du Grand-Lucé". 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐨 𝐝𝐢 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐳𝐚, 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲 🇬🇧 TGIF lovely people! Today I wanted to start my series from the Dolomites, Italy. We visited in September which meant we had perfect temperatures during the day despite the cool mornings and evenings. It’s also a less busy period to visit compared to the summer so visiting the lakes, doing the hikes were rather pleasant. This photo was taken early morning at Lago di Carezza which was absolutely stunning. The reflections of the snowy mountain tops were simply breathtaking 🥰
