This is a chart showing the EAT-Lancet proposal for a global diet. 57% of the calories will come from grains, sugar, vegetable oils, and soy and 1% from meat. Given what we now know about nutrition science, the observable results of the current food guidelines in people over a generation ( just walk around any mall and observe), the current state of world health etc, ask yourself are we winning .
I highly encourage you to read and research for yourself. The EAT Lancet report can be found at eatforum.org For a foundation reference on the history of the current nutrition guidelines and science I recomend a book called The BIG FAT Surprise by investigative journalist Nina Teicholz. .
What are your thoughts on the EAT-Lancet proposal
I often show pictures of my food and talk about raising our kids, how we fed/feed them, our parenting philosophy etc. so I figured it was about time I showed their beautiful, healthy, glowing little mugs.
So, here they be, all three of them with the newest addition to our family, our beautiful little niece (gah! squishing fat baby thighs is the best!). Our oldest daughter, on the left, is 26. In the middle is our 22 year old, and on the far right is our “baby”, all 16 years of her.
These are a little clutch of bodies and brains built by butter-eating, liver-worshipping, raw milk-gulping, meat-devouring, animal fat-feasting, traditional, organic, pasture raised foods. Add to that beautiful food: sunshine, fresh air, clean water, physical work, and the everlasting adoration of their devoted parents.
Real foods, all those foods our species has been eating since the dawn of time, take work to find in our screwed up food system, but you can find them. Contact your local Weston A Price chapter leader to find farmers in your area. Check out eatwild.com. Buy in bulk from your farmers during fall harvest, do what you gotta’ do. In this era of shortcuts, the worshipping of ease, and corporate money grabs in exchange for your health, its more important than ever to find the nourishing foods that fortify our minds and bodies. We are responsible for ourselves and our children. Nobody’s going to do it for us.
Go get ‘em, tiger🐯
YOU MUST WORK HARD.
YOU MUST WORK SOFT.
For most of my 20's and early 30's I mostly worked soft. Not really aiming for any particular goal, not really growing in any particular direction.
The tide has turned. I changed my mind from seeing everything as difficult, impossible and stupid to a mind where everything is doable, possible and brilliant. (With a lot of hard work.)
I changed my body from everything hurts and I can't run, jump or workout to a body that's getting better at running, jumping and working out. (With a lot of meat and fat )
I washed all the bullshit out of my brain and decided I was sick of not having the best life possible for me.
I wish the same for you.
Do you notice all the crap thoughts you have going around your head
Write some of them down in the comments and you'll see most of us think the same dumbshit about ourselves.
I'll start - ' I'm not confident enough to speak to that cute girl at the yoga studio ' .
Put down 18oz of Delmonico Steak, wedge salad with bacon bits, tomatoes then dressed with balsamic vinegar and olive oil and a glass of veauve clicquot. The server at Scotch 80 was nice and accommodated to my allergies to garlic, gluten etc, it’s hard because garlic is in everything!! They made table side banana split 🥰 This will most likely be my last cheat meal until end of February where I plan on attempting depleting my carbohydrates and being carnivore heavy keto. I’ve been refreshing my Nutrtion knowledge and am really confident that end of February I’ll be in a good place :)) just watch me 😝
