We’re lucky to partner with a national leader among rehabilitation hospitals, TIRR Memorial Hermann. Together we hope to educate, share stories, and erase stigmas surrounding people living with varying levels of ability. Thanks @greatdayhouston for having us last year!
We were meant to live for so much more!💙 So grateful for the love and prayers everyone has sent Daniel's way. After 5 months at the hospital, he will soon be discharged and stay here in Houston until he can go back home.
I've always shared how proud I am of my baby brother and that pride continues to grow. These last months he and Crystal have been Daniel's angels on Earth. Visiting daily, making sure my aunt is taken care of, washing clothes, dropping off food, satisfying any cravings Daniel had. I am so proud of the way they have stepped up and taken care of Daniel and my aunt so selflessly.
You guys are amazing, your hearts are enormous, and I know if I told you this in person you'd roll your eyes but it's all true.
Love you both!
Excited to see Daniel come home and grow stronger.💪💙 #danielkeepfighting #danielswarriors
Little update..had a cardiac episode today and I have to admit it scared the crap out of me. When you go to urgent care and they immediately say they are calling ems and having an ambulance pick u up and take you to a nearby hospital, it brings up every imaginable fear. So my ekg had some abnormalities and the fact that I had pain in my shoulder, arm and jaw earned me an overnight stay in observation and a visit from the cardiologist in the am tomorrow. Hoping it’s nothing too serious as we have moms funeral Saturday. 🤞🏻 #needabreakhere #wearingthemonitor #familyhistory #memorialhermann
Went back to visit the nurses and nursing staff that took care of me when I was a patient at TIRR Memorial Hermann Rehab Hospital during the night shift!! It was the first time I saw them since I was discharged nearly 4 years ago!!
Whenever I go back to the hospital for my doctor appointments, I like to take the time to visit the nurses, nursing staff, and therapists that I had when I was a patient there to show my appreciation for taking care of me when I was in the worst condition!!
I normally go during the day, but given it has been nearly 4 years since I seen the night shift nursing staff that took care of me, I decided to pay them a visit and saw these two 😀 One recognized me and the other didn’t recognize me at first!!
Glad I was able to see these two out of the many that took great care of me during the night shift!! Hopefully you haven’t had to stay in a hospital for any reason, but if you have, I highly encourage you to go back and see the nurses, nursing staff, and doctors that took care of you!! They like to see the progress of their former patients!! Special thanks to @izzymofitness for taking me during the night!! All the praise and glory goes to God 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

After tweaking the gift I made by hand for Dr C over and over for 6 months, I finally accepted that it was good enough.
Unlike Drs A and L, I saw Dr C fairly regularly. Whenever I stopped by the chemo suite to bring treats, I'd check to see if Dr C was outside of her office.
Lucky for me, she was, on several occasions and we got a chance to touch base and catch up - the only one of my cancer doctors with whom I've been able to do so post-major treatments.
I don't know if I can do justice to how much Dr C has been, not just an exceptional doctor, but also a valuable friend and amazing human being to me.
When I was at a critically low point in regard to my idea for a breast cancer survivors' support group, she took the time to do something about it.
She suggested I make a mission statement and, when I was too flustered to think about how I'd start one, she grabbed pen and paper and started writing out what she already knew about my ideas.
She made several bullet points and continued with a skeleton outline for me to flesh out when I was in a better frame of mind.
The next time I saw her, I'd written out an excellent plan, following my own outline, which hers had inspired in me. Impressed, she immediately emailed her practice administrator Anthony Sala who has turned out to match her in character, spirit and drive.
If not for these two bright lights on my cancer journey, my Breast Friends Forever group would never have got off the ground.

Houston leads the nation as the most dangerous—and deadliest—city behind the wheel. That’s why we have teamed up with Memorial Hermann Life Flight to reward drivers for not using their cell phones while driving. Take the pledge to not tech and drive!

Got to visit MH's life flight today and I felt like a kid visiting the fire station! ☺️ it's crazy to hear about how many lives that have been saved through them! If you have family or friends working there, thank them for their time and service! #memorialhermannlifeflight #memorialhermann #trueheroes

4 months late but I finally gave Dr A the Christmas gift I'd made for her.
June 19, 2018
6 months late but I finally gave Dr L the Christmas gift I'd made for her.
After Rob discovered the lump in my breast sometime April 2016, I had my breasts checked by our family doctor, Dr A.
She is one of those rare docs who doesn't think I'm crazy when I mention energy healing (also Dr C). Through her, I met Dr L, who became my breast surgeon and was instrumental in getting me to look into reconstructive surgery, which led me to Dr B.
Dr A also referred me to Dr H but she was already retiring; so I chose Dr C after reading her bio.
The gourd I painted for Dr A is part of my 'broken art' series and symbolized fertility. Coincidentally, around the time I was making it, Dr A became pregnant with her first child; I found out when I finally gave her the gift!
Dr L was delightedly surprised to receive the present I made; she even kept the box I wrapped it in. I made her a Thank You plaque with a paper clay swan half protruding from the background and 3D waves.

For two and half years I worked along side these great people right here. We’ve had our good and our bad days. But over all despite working at a hospital we had a lot of laughs! I’m going to miss them. #memorialhermann @miguellozano7229
