On this #NationalDoctorsDay, I want to share this powerful video from Dr. Francois and Dr. Robinson, and say a huge thank you to all of our incredible doctors, nurses, technicians, residents, fellows, and hospital staff who are putting their lives on the line during this pandemic.
These past few weeks, I’ve been thinking about how we can continue to inspire, comfort, and connect with each other despite our physical distance. One place to start: sharing our stories, especially those stories about the many folks out there saving lives and working to keep us safe. There is so much good happening all around us—let’s not forget to celebrate acts of courage and generosity when we can.
So go ahead and leave a comment with the story of a loved one working on the frontlines: the health care workers, government employees, delivery workers, grocery store clerks, teachers, police officers, firefighters, and transit and utility workers who have been helping all of us through this moment. I can't wait to read and share these stories over the next couple of weeks—they'll be a reassuring reminder that, as these talented doctors sing, everything is going to be alright. #michelleobama
LET’S TALK ABOUT GOOD GIFTS! More specifically, good gifts for Casey! My sister got me this mug, and my life hasn’t been the same since! Pair that with a professional-grade whipped cream dispenser and you have a damn good mocha!
Here we have a homemade peppermint-mocha with a vanilla-mint whipped-cream. I guess you could say I’m not f*cking around!! It’s the PERFECT drink to make your loved ones before your Christmas-breakdown!

Let’s talk habits! First off a habit can be good or bad. To be honest, it is how you look at it. Also, it has a lot to do with if you are aware of your habits as well.
What is in your daily routine, is a habit. A habit is something you enjoy doing, have to do, can’t go a day without doing, whatever that maybe.
For me, Im challenging myself to read a book each month for this year, and I kept my word for 90 days. I have a pretty crazy schedule and in the past, I struggled at starting something new and staying committed.
There is a 21/90 rule. What you practice for 21 days becomes a habit and 90 days to build a lifestyle.
Every single book I have read in these past months have helped me stay on course. I challenge you to commit yourself to your first 30 days to practice a daily good habit in April.

~ HELP ~
* read to the end if you want some toddler quote gold*
This period of self-isolation has so many ups and downs.
TBH if I didn't have kids I would be loving myself silly right now, because I could easily chill at home all day long and not be bothered by it. But the anxiety of having to do right by your kids is terrifying.
We are BOTH mums to 2 kidlets, nurses and wives to men with 'essential jobs' so staying home is not an option and the mental load is real.
Current mental load:
- Not bringing anything nasty home to our families
- Not taking anything nasty to work (we work with a very vulnerable population)
- Making sure our husbands are being safe at work + not bringing anything home
- Running essential errands (groceries, petrol etc) without bringing any nasties home
- making nutritionally dense meals with whatever we are able to find at the store...that our kids will eat
- Educating our families
- Supporting our friends
- Perhaps most importantly of all nurturing the developing minds of our darling children.
OK so that was a little heavy...
We are enjoying some more quality time with our families which means we are luckier than some.
So let's end on a funny note:
the other day my Frozen obsessed 4yo child told me 'Mum you have to stop singing because you're a little pitchy.
Your turn: what GOLD moments have had you in stitches

#MichelleObama shares this post with an encouraging message:

An amazing memior perfect for a quarentine read! Michelle Obama captures the essence of navigating life as an educated black woman from the Chicago South Side. An inspiration to any woman maintaining a professional career while raising a family and handling everything with a busy husband.

Before I dive into my first bookstagram book review I'd like to say that writing isn't a strong suit for me, and I often find it hard to convey my points across even in conversation because I am a mom of 3 children who are rarely all asleep at the same time, so I'm often tired but I'd rather stay up late reading or bingeing a show on Netflix than get rest. I also have an affinity for run-on sentences. If you're still reading this...wow thank you and let's be friends! 📚Book review: Becoming by Michelle Obama. I LOVED this and cannot recommend her memoir enough. It was personal, heartfelt, and basically I feel like she could be one of my best friends, and I'm fairly certain she'd feel the same way if our paths were ever to cross. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS!!!! (Finished this book sometime in March, I'm trying to do a monthly recap).
I know times are hard right now and you may want to retreat, stay quiet, and just wait for this to all be over. It is important for us all to be brave right now though. Make sure you are all calling your loves one and friends. Take advantage of the time we get to live in the moment with your children. Be present on social media and show your strength. That does not mean, ignore what is happening. It means to stand strong right in the middle of it. Some days it is damn hard. Today was one of those days for me. I am tired. The stress is starting to wear on me. I am not going to let this defeat me though and I am coming back stronger tomorrow. It is important that you show others your bravery and your hope. The world needs to see your smile right now. They need to know we will all make it through this stronger then we were. Maybe this isn’t happening to us, but for us. Maybe we are being tested. I have hope and I am brave. I know you are too! Let me see it. Show me your smiles. Show me your hope ❤️
