In society we’re taught that cravings are bad and we should control, ignore, and distrust them.☹️

 Cravings are not bad. They are simply communication signals. They’re messages from your body: it’s trying to get your attention and tell you something! 💫
-
Next time you’re faced with a strong craving, see if you can approach it with curiosity instead of judgement. Some questions to ask yourself:
-
✨did I eat enough today? 
If you’ve skipped a meal or it’s time for your next one, your body may be telling you it needs energy stat! -
✨is the food I’m craving off limits? 
Telling yourself you can’t have a certain food will make you want it more. It’s not a matter of “will power,” it’s human nature. If you give yourself permission to eat the food, you may notice the craving becomes less intense or even subsides -
✨what do I need? 
Reflecting on what you need in the moment will help choose your next step with confidence. If it’s the food you’re craving after all, eat it and enjoy it so you can move on. If you’ve determined it’s not, take a walk, call a friend, or journal to address your feelings.

The process of acknowledging and befriending your cravings takes time, so be gentle with yourself! Once you begin approaching cravings with curiosity, they lose their power, and you no longer need to fear or distrust them. 💫

Trevor Brewer was the hero in the terrorist attack at Frankfurt Airport on some of our nation’s troops a few years ago, when he chased down the gunman. Because my brain and body have been rewired to live in a constant state of flight or fight due to trauma. . I’ve been there. I see you. I hear you. I hold space for you. . We live in a society that measures our worth by our productivity. We glorify busy. People ask “How are you?” and instead of telling them how we feel, the response is “busy”. While this busyness is absolutely driven by societal structures and values, I also think for many of us the busyness is a purposeful if not conscious avoidance. We are avoiding our bodies, our emotions, our pain. We were taught to do this, and it is our zone of comfort. It feels easier and in some ways safer to disengage. Some people spend years, decades, lifetimes avoiding what they really feel inside. Some of us use busyness to escape the inner knowing that something significant is not right— jobs, relationships, the general direction of our lives. If we actually slowed down, if we stepped out of the relentless daily demands of work and life and tuned in to ourselves, we would have to grapple with what is here. That might mean having to heal from a traumatic childhood, or it might mean choosing to leave a lifeless marriage. As scary and vulnerable it is to face, how we feel, our emotions, our inner knowing— all are blinking arrows towards vitality, healing, and wholeness. If you can, gently, with compassion and curiousity, slow down. See what’s here. Allow the anxiety or guilt or shame to come up. And stay with it. Allow it to surface and to pass. And then, name and be with the underlying feelings and inner knowings that arise. That is your compass.

Today we turned 1! 
We celebrated with weights, workouts, workrate, wonderful people and...cake! 
We feel very blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people every day. We are very proud of the community in our studio and Ofcourse grateful for our members!

In the last year each and every one of you has helped shaped the happy haven at F45 Frederiksplein. Where anyone can come and be whoever they want to be and that is always going to be ok. A place of no judgement, no intimidation, warmth, success, empowerment, results and friendship. 
We are excited to continue growing and sharing this beautiful place with as many people as possible. 
Today we raised 180 euro for @mission_summit im honour of our MS warrior @stumbling_princess this collection will remain open all of next week for you to make donations that will go towards funds for research into a cure for MS!

It doesn’t matter if you have started a fitness regimen and failed. The key is to to keep trying! Don’t be discouraged with setbacks. My weight and workouts have fluctuated throughout the years. Life gets busy, crap happens and it derails your routine. And your willpower. Little setbacks are not a big deal but they can lead you into the big ones. Just remember not to beat yourself up over that donut that you ate or the workout that you missed. That’s when you can spiral. Focus. Today is a fresh start. Yesterday is the past. One way to get around the practice slump is to give yourself small, manageable goals, like doing it for 10 minutes and allowing for a break. Initiating the task is the hardest part, and what often happens is that we want to keep going after we’ve reached our small goal. Keep chunking those little goals, and they’ll add up! ✨

The time we spend on our devices causes an increased strain in the muscles and discs in our neck, which leads to poor posture and headaches. Float therapy can release and relax the soft tissue in the neck over time and help reduce the pain from poor posture. It feels so good to take that big breath and let it go.

Changing your vibration is basically guided by your intentions and desire to do so.
There are many ways you can quickly move from a lower state to a higher, happier one. Check it out: 👇🏼
✔️ Meditation: Meditation is one of the most powerful and effective ways to change your vibration. Finding a minute to simply stop, breathe and shower yourself with white light, changes your vibration instantly.
✔️ Food/Drinks: Being mindful about what you eat and drink plays an important role on your vibration. Keeping a poor diet, with low vibrational food and drink, will make your energy to stay low as well. So think healthier for your body to support a higher vibration.
✔️ Ho'oponopono: This magical Hawaiian practice, when repeated with the intention of releasing lower vibrations and feelings, and replacing them with love, can bring wonders to the way you feel and therefore, to your vibes as well.
✔️ Working with Higher Vibrational Beings: Angels, Ascend Masters, Spirit Guides and so on, do vibrate higher and brighter. Inviting them to come close to you and help you feel better, embracing you with their light, will bring an immediate response and your vibration will increase too.
✔️ Positive Thoughts/Affirmations: Feeling low from time to time is normal, but keeping yourself in that place will only make you vibrate lower and lower. When you feel you are not well, allow yourself to feel it but also have the awareness to move out of those lower vibes by cultivating positive thoughts instead and also working with affirmations to do so.

This is my go to stretch to release tension and tightness in my pelvic floor. It’s a daily habit now and makes a real difference in the heaviness and bulging sensation I get. I hold my ankles but you can hold your knees, shins or feet depending on what feels most relaxed for you. It should feel comfortable and not like you’re forcing it so do what works for you. 
Close your eyes, deep breath into the sides and back of your ribcage, pause for a second and then release letting everything go, relax your pelvic floor feeling like you’re sinking into the ground. Relax your pelvic floor again (chances are you may still be holding some tension there! Repeat 5 times, ideally 3 times a day.
Great for relaxing body, mind and pelvic floor and stimulating your parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system.

How we think and feel about the food we eat will change our digestion. 
Our psychological relationship with food is one of the most important factors in nutritional metabolism of the food we eat.

We have a very close relationship with our food. We use words to relate to our food such as hate, love, exciting, etc.
.
One person can see a chicken pizza dish as a fattening food; whereas another sees it as a protein dish. A person who is vegetarian might see this pizza as a poisoning food. Thus, each of these people, because of their thoughts and feelings about this chicken pizza, metabolize this pizza differently depending on their psychology of eating. 
The brain is like a telephone. It relays a message from our brain to our digestive system. .
Let’s say you are about to eat an egg. You create the image of an egg in your higher center part of your brain, the cerebral cortex, and from there the information electrochemically is sent to our limbic system which is reposible for regulating emotions, and physical functions. Within our limbic system there is the hypothalamus which gets activated. This part connects the mind and biological responses which are responsible for the psychology of eating and creating biological responses. .
If you think positively about eating an egg and you are mindful while you are eating it, your hypothalamus gives the signal to your parasympathetic nervous system and it gets fully digested.

However, if you perceive an egg as something negative, your hypothalamus sends a negative signal to your sympathetic nervous system which slows down your metabolism and digestion of this egg. .
.
So the next time you are eating a food, ask yourself ‘what are my thoughts and feelings about this food?’ because your judgment about your food will directly affect your digestion. .
Another factor impacting your digestion is whether you are eating it while you are distracted or you are eating your food mindfully. .
