Conscious Healthy Mantra:
HONE YOUR FOCUS
I wanted a different mantra this week.
I thought I needed something better.
Maybe more powerful or poetic.
The truth is, I need more focus right now.
I am a little scattered, especially after a week of having both kids at home and hosting my wonderful parents. During this week, my husband started his new work schedule and also got a nasty stomach virus, which I then got, and then my mom, too.
We've been playing tourist together and having adventures and it's been wonderful.
I was also trying to run a big sale for my business and finish up a project to send to my brilliant graphic designer (if you ever need one @mommacamping is the best).
After the holiday and the sickness and the busyness, combined with the fact that the sale was a massive flop and I am emotionally and mentally drained.
I need to refocus.
Lately I've been using my mantras as an opportunity to ask questions.
When I've been in need of the support of my mantra, I immediately ask, "what am I focusing on What needs my focus Where should my focus be"
Or some form of those questions.
My attention shifts in as I consider.
My stress levels decrease.
I hone my focus.
Listen, this isn't perfect.
I still feel a little scattered because I've been staying up way later than I should. II'm feeding my vata and ignoring my kapha -- that's Ayurveda-speak for I'm letting myself be more busy and stretched thin instead of giving myself time to rest and recover.

For now, I'm going to shut down my phone.
Do my brain dump.
Sketch out my week.

When things get hard or life doesn’t go as planned it’s easy to forget that we are all trying our best. It’s easy to lose our integrity and act out. It’s harder, much much harder, to remember to take a breath and try and stay true to who you are.
You won’t please everyone all the time. That’s just life. But remember who you are and what makes you, you and stick with that and you’re golden 💛💛
Step into it. 👣👣
As a Psychotherapist, one of the 🧰 tools I teach my clients is how to release. A collection of controlled movement that help you move through moments of discomfort. 🥺Some days we feel inexplicably heavy, or, irritated, on-edge and unfocused. Some days, we literally practice all of our tools in one day - and, that’s ok. 🤖When I haven’t allowed myself to release, I feel more susceptible to the symptoms of fear like, doubt, shame, jealousy and overthinking.
Those are the days I am called to use all my tools. I shout, I cry, I move my body, I stretch, i salt bath, I write, I listen to loud music, I cook my favourite meals, I say “no”, I call my Goddess gang. 👑Because I need to. 👑Because you need to.
Use your tools. Unapologetically.
You are worth the time.
You are worth the investment. 🕙The knowing is in that you must choose how to prioritize your time to include it. There is always something that can wait to be done. 🙉I find if I don’t release, the #fearsymptoms come up on me easier. They cloud my mind and I begin to second-guess everything about life, literally.
I am reminding you that you are your biggest obstacle. You are the only thing standing in your way. You are alllwed to scream, cry, release and, use your tools; but, only you will decide whether or not you give up. 🚨Do not give up. Take the time, the space, the step back, the pause but, do not give up.
You have literally faced everything in the past year. Remember all the reasons you chose to shift to begin with. Remember why you’re here. Muster up your strength, your gumption, your last bit of spark for life and take a BIG breathe.
Use your tools.
Let it all out.
It’s ok to not be ok.
Come back to you. (Even if that means tomorrow). 🦚MONDAY AFFIRMATION: “I honour the cycles of my body and energy. I am able to let go. I am loved. I am love”. ♥️Love you.
