Just sharing some suggaa on this Good Friday. ⚡️🤩
When your dog photobombs your blog photo session...
Here I am telling the bride and groom the next step in their reception. Probably cake cutting cuz it takes a bit more prep then just a dance.
And here are a few fun facts about me.
1️⃣ I like big rings (this is what my husband said about me). Now truth be told I like big turquoise rings- or onyx or something unique. ⚜️
2️⃣ I’m also known to be solar powered. (Says my hubs again) When the sun is out I’m out and in the yard, hiking, working, swimming, people watching. Once the sun goes away I’m inside w a blanket and slippers and cuddled w my kids. (Even if it’s 75’ ⛅️)
3️⃣ My preference of shoes is wedges or heels. 👠 But I’m getting up in years and my back doesn’t like them as well. So I have some sweet flats and @target sandals that I end up in.
4️⃣ Tip for other #weddingvendor peeps is ... (that I just learned from @ashleymedranophotography) is to bring 2 pairs of shoes to a wedding. Switch half way through a long wedding and now I can walk the next day 💕
5️⃣ I’m a seafood junkie. Oysters, ceviches, scallop, crab ... YES!! I was so sad recently when my Dr. told me to “lay off the seafood” 😩. All my test results came back Okiedokie so on to oysters I go.
Do you like sea food Why not or share your favorite. ⤵️

Pam and John chose a mix of moody tones to complete their invitation suite. The mix of gold, burgundy and black is a win in our book!
I hope everyone who RSVPs on time has a great weekend. As for the rest of you...
So you just got engaged (a huge heart-felt congratulations by the way!) and already, your loved ones are flinging questions at you left and right. They mean well, and are just so excited for you both but you’re starting to feel super overwhelmed! •
You are staring down the pipeline at a ton of decisions you need to make for your wedding celebration and want to make thoughtful choices. But to be honest, you’re not yet sure what you actually want, and all the advice you’re getting is only confusing you more. •
This is where I come in! As a Celebration of Love coach, I’ll help you both work through the overwhelm and confusion so you can get the heart of what you want you celebration to be. You’ll walk away knowing your direction and be able to clearly answer the constant questions. I’ll even help you navigate tricky dynamics if you decide your wedding is going to be somewhat (or very non-traditional). •
Schedule a free 30 minute phone call with me to see if this type of coaching is right for you!

Pro tip: when you build a donut wall from scratch, you have to test it out before the event. A few times.

Sharing my job title in any given room ALWAYS leads to the wedding version of storytime at the library.
Married women love to share all the little things they would change if they could do it all over again. Newlyweds try to sneak in little tidbits about why they think their wedding was cooler than their less-hip friends. And those who have marriage on the horizon confidently list off all their Pinterest MUST HAVES that are bound to still be in style years from now.
I have the interesting opportunity to sit back and take it all in as past weddings are re-envisioned and measured against one another. The truth is that what was trendy last year will not be desirable next month and the current Midwest wedding rave has been so out of style in the West coast since like yesterday ✌🏼. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in creating beautiful surroundings no matter where I am. I believe that aesthetics matter. I believe that a small budget has nothing to do with whether or not your wedding is as lovely as the next girls’ wedding because creativity and intentionality go a long way.
But those details are fleeting and meaningless years later. What I really wish I heard from women in these circles was how they’ll never forget those quiet, still moments as their mom and sister helped them into their dress. I wish I heard more stories of those feelings of heart-bursting joy when their husband-to-be cried at the sight of his bride. I wish women wanted to talk more about brothers and dads sweating like fools out on the dance floor, rather than napkin color. (P.S. Napkin color is still important- see me after class 😆)
More than anything I wish women would look out for women and share more honest truths about the beauty of the marriage that follows the wedding. And to the women who aren’t currently planning weddings, I hope that we will do a better job at saving a seat for their voices to be heard as well.
Ladies, we have room to grow. Let’s do better together.
Suns out! ☀️Spring has sprung! 🌷Can't help getting a little giddy about my wedding babes roster for 2019. Looking so so so forward to another year of magic moments like this one. 💫

Life lately has been donut wall building and wedding decor organization but I’m pretty happy with it.
Every week feels like a different project. Last week was donut wall and signage and it felt good to get away from the computer and do something physical. Alas, this weekend it’s back to the screen to try to get all of these details out of my brain and on paper for our day-of coordinator. Wish me luck.
i was lucky enough to photograph Sydney & Ben last week for their engagement photos. Their engagement was the last one i photographed before mine & Nathan’s engagement photos this past weekend, and their wedding will be the first we photograph after our own wedding this November! i can already tell these two will be a huge blessing to us this year 💕

Moments like these will always be the most beautiful in my opinion. Not because of aesthetics (but let’s be honest, I do make pretty photographs!), not because of my own beliefs or traditions, not because they did it the same way or differently... But because these are THE moments, their moments, the story and experience they created for themselves, it’s meaningful in their hearts, and that is what’s most beautiful. Look at that look in the last photo, you can see it, that moment... It’s theirs.

Working on new cake designs. This one is finished in dark modelling chocolate, with chocolate roses and leaves and edible gold leaf for a little glam. It’s not all buttercream cakes here.
