We always get questions when people are setting up a complete or a board if we have any clear grip and at the time we didn’t have any. But like we stress on anything else people want for the shop we came through so for this snowy Friday. If anybody needs it we have em covered not to mention it’s @mobgrip! #MMY365 Day 198. Long post and 🚨content warning🚨, if you’re squeamish DON’T read on and DON’T swipe to the third photo! Tonight we saw the fantastic Showstoppers, which was hilarious and brilliant, and just the perfect distraction from a horrible afternoon. I had a hospital appointment, for further investigation on my throat which has felt wrong for a while. It was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. If you scroll to the third photo in this set you will see the thing the doctor put *up my nose* to see into my throat. Which was bad enough. But then he said things don’t look like they should and he wanted to take a sample. Yep, as in, cut a bit out for further tests. Before I knew what was happening he had sprayed something in my throat to numb it and was getting ready to go in. I won’t describe it in detail, it was bad enough to live through. I think they thought I was going to pass out because they were being very cautious with me afterwards and wouldn’t let me move for a while. I now need to wait for more tests which hopefully won’t be as bad as today’s and even more hopefully, will rule out anything more serious (and god knows my anxious mind is coming up with some theories that could do with shutting the fuck down) So yes, this afternoon was traumatic to say the least. And yes, I know people have been through worse, but that is hands down one of the worst experiences of my life. BUT the show was great, so it helped take my mind off of things. But then some drunken assholes threw a drink over Chloe which took the evening in a whole new direction again! What a rollercoaster 😩 anyway. Life story over for another day. Thanks for reading, if indeed you did. #showstoppers #improvisedmusical #improv #funny #theatre #horrific #nhs #experience
Loving life! 💜 Work = Stressful ✔️ Tiring ✔️ Mentally Exhausting ✔️ Yet it was the best jump I ever took! It will all be worth it in the end! Roll on 2020 ha! Already planning myself a holiday to end all holiday as a present! ✈️🌎 #lovinglife #travelplans #ilovetravel #nhs #selfiecity #weekendatlast
Now the day is nearly over and the brood have come into the nest. I was expecting my eldest from University this weekend but she had a busy week and forgot to book her ticket. Never mind. I’ll hopefully see her next weekend.
The other 2 are back from college and school and extracurricular activities. Today thank God for @uber. The children have been fed today courtesy of the local Indian takeaway.
Then there’s little man and we’ve had bonding time and today was lots of cuddles and story time in bed after he came back from Nursery.
It’s times like today I am really thankful for my children. We pull together we manage. We get through it. We get by. I have also carried tremendous guilt for my children having a mother with mental health issues. As much as I tried to hide it from them eventually my children saw through the cracks. We are campaigning for the world to treat mental health on the same par as physical health but for the stigma to be broken, we can’t hide it from the children. Children are very resilient you know they are able to handle the truth. All they need to understand is you do your best and you will always be there. They also get fed and they are warm, they need warmth and love to feel secure and also the knowledge that tomorrow may be a better day. Do my children deserve better Yes but by giving them to someone else who may physically do better than I can for them, can you guarantee they’ll be mentally well #mentalhealth #mentalillness #depression #anxiety #bipolar #schizophrenia #lackofunderstanding #parenting #children #asd #autistic #autism #adhd #pathologicaldemandavoidance #burnout #experts #medicalprofessional #socialservices #nhs #nhsengland #transformingcare #mentalhealthservices #holisticcare #familycentredcare

This morning I arrived on Surgical assessment unit at the #greatwesternhospital as requested to wait for an available theatre slot. I've had #hydradenitissuppurativa an autoimmune skin disease for over 20 years.
A month after Joshua's passing In 1998 i had my 1st operation. Not only had my body failed me as a mother but barely a month on it had started to attack itself. A horrid abcess on the base of my spine had appeared.
Agony doesn't even begin to describe the pain I was in both emotionally & physically.
Roll on to the present day & i've had countless operations, drains & honestly more antibiotics than a local pharmacy stocks up. Yet here I was again, An abcess under my arm that had spread into previous scar sac's & tissue & was making me extremely poorly.
I arrived shortly after 7.45 & within half and hour I was gowned up & walking down to the anaesthetic room.
Being eased to sleep by an anaesthetist who wouldn't have looked out of place on @greysabc
I awoke in recovery feeling incredible sick, uncomfortable but no longer in pain.
My base line blood pressure is always low so any type of sedation or anaesthetic makes it drop even more.
A Few hours later after 2 fluid bags & some anti-sickness medicine I felt well enough to return to the unit.
Throughout the whole day I was treated like a VIP, literally every member or staff I encountered was polite, helpful, reassuring & calming. I was never made to feel rushed to get out of bed, to eat or get dressed & go home.
The NHS gets a lot of slating but as a nation we are incredible lucky to have this amazing service for free !
Over the next week I'll have to have daily dressing changes as I heal,
I'm so thankful for the NHS not only for today but for being a source of support throughout the passing of my boy & for also saving the lives of each of my 3 subsequent children. #thankful #nhs #nhsisamazing #autismmum #strepb #grievingmummy #angelmum #surgery #postop #hydradenitissuppurativa #resting #healing #happytobehome #instacommunity #mumslife #asdmum #autismfamily #thankyounhsstaff #chronicillness #autoimmunedisease
it is not something any of us ever like talking about or thinking about not being here any more death, dying for many people. it's a hard thing to even think about organ donation due to beliefs or religious values .
I belive that when I'm no longer here if could help someone else live on that would be the best thing I could do . many people daily are either being saved or loosing there battle due to not finding a donor or a match .
I've always said I would but tonight I signed up for the first time! this is my wish #organdonor #organdonation #yesidonate #nhs
Dear diary, my little brother isn't very well, and has been undergoing treatment at the #greatormondstreethospital also known as #GOSH.
Hes very lucky to be being treated here as it is one of the world's leading children's #hospitals . The #hospital not only offers outstanding care, a environment which is tailored to children but also offers facilities for parents.
GOSH is situated in #bloomsbury, #London. It began after a long campaign by Dr Charles West in 1852. He was horrified by the high amount of child deaths at the time. It was to be the first hospital to have inpatient beds specifically for children. The hospital opened on February the 14th 1852, but today that year they accepted their first patient. On opening they only had ten beds but by the end of the year this had grown to 30. In 2016/17 it was predicted that they handled over 252,389 outpatient visits and43,778 inpatient visits every year
GOSH under the patronage of #QueenVictoria quickly became at the forefront of children's hospital care in the world and with thanks to charitable donations it has been able to stay in this position, pioneering treatments and care practices.
As #Britain adopted the #nationalHealthSystem or #NHS the hospital was the first to become privitised in 1948, which was a blessing for patients but to begin with was problematic when it came to using charitable funds to boost its medical capability. Thankfully though today this is not an issue and the hospital whilst providing free health care is capable of going above and beyond because of people's generosity.
One of the most famous supporters of the hospital was #jmbarrie the author of #winniethepooh who dedicated the royalties from his works. In 1987, 50 years following Barries death the copyright was due to end, however, an government act extending the hospitals rights to the works royalties indefinitely.
My brother is getting better thankfully and it's all thanks to this amazing hospital and its dedicated staff.
For further information on GOSH and how you can help them provide the care they do go to

Fruity Friday 🍏🍌🍐🍊🥝🍍🍇
Thank you to the nice lady in front of me at the check out who allowed me to photograph her shopping - to the dismay of my kids!🤦🏽♀️
She works for Bromley Community Mental Health Team and was stocking up for their ‘Fruity Friday’ initiative. .
Free Friday fruit for all team members as an investment in their health & wellbeing. Also in response to their collective need to increase fiber intake 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great work team Bromley, love this idea. It’s well known that food and mood are intrinsically linked. .
If healthy food is readily available on the desk, people will eat it. The team is apparently much more productive after fruit than biscuits. 😁👏🏼🧠
Let’s follow this lead and get fruity on Fridays 😊😊🍏🥝🍍🥑🍇

Just love it when I throw my back out for the first time ever at work and have to wait three hours for an ambulance. When they did show the guys were true donnys. Gas and air, did the whole tank from Camden to UCLH Euston. The staff and fellow patients there were fully humble and caring despite the work load. Big up the NHS and don't vote tory.

Day 2. So on Valentine’s Day I went for elective surgery. I’ve suffered for years with a painful hip that in the end was limiting movement and my everyday activities and work life. I had two excessive tears in the labrum (between the ball and socket) and an impingement. So the tears were stitched up and the femur head has been shaved to make it all lovely and smooth! I have a long recovery ahead of me but so far so good!! THANKYOU to each and every person that has messaged me to see how I am your all so lovely ❤️❤️🤗🤗 #hipproblems #surgery #recovery #letsdothis #postop #day2 #crutches #keeponchugging #thankyous #kindpeople #nhs #besthealthcare
Henlo. I took this pic a few weeks ago but didn't post it for whatever reason *shrug*. Anyyyyyways...
Mental health/transition update: I went through a horrific bout of depression over Christmas, which I'm still recovering from now. Last weekend, I decided to email the gender clinic I was referred to in Exeter. In my email, I mentioned that in my previous emails to check on my place on the waiting list they had been dismissive and un-reassuring. They were the exact same in their reply this time. The admin basically said that other people have been waiting longer than me since 2016, whereas I was referred in early 2017. That upset me quite a bit. But what really triggered me was the fact that it was implied that I likely won't be seen for another two-three years, when I had been expecting to be seen at some point this year. That email triggered a massive depressive episode leading to severe self-harm that required stitches (first time ever needing stitches for anything). The wound is healing well btw, for those worrying. Anyway, I'm still really upset and dysphoric and feel like my future is basically ruined cuz I don't think I can wait another two years 💔. I will be complaining about the admin team. They have been repeatedly dismissive, belittling, uncaring, and snarky. They should not be allowed to treat patients like that. Especially ones who are already suffering from the world at large. For maybe the second time ever, I actually hate being a minority and I really feel how oppressed and gatekept we are. And I still dont feel like people understand how badly I need top surgery. I still feel the urge to self-harm but I'm trying not to until I can see my GP or whatever therapist I've been told I'll be seeing. I just don't know how to relay to them how at risk I feel to myself right now 😔.

So... What is the difference between organ donation and tissue donation 🤔
Well... 💁🏽♀️Organ donation is removing organs like the heart, lungs or kidney from one individual and transplanting it into another individual. In most cases, this type of donation is done after the donor has passed.
Tissue donation is when tissues in the body are removed from a living or deceased individual and transplanted into another individual.
Tissues that can be donated include cornea, sclera, heart valves, skin, bone, tendons and amniotic tissue.

Putting the face to @falafel_face - I have been exercising for about two and a half years now and have loved every minute of it - my exercise involved mainly resistance training (weights) and recently over the last 4 months or so, I have incorporated HIIT, boxing and weight based cardio - I saw my body shape change dramatically however the scales didn’t seem to move as dramatically as I thought they would, it was only when I started to eat better and by better I mean whole, nutritionally dense foods avoiding refined and processed foods did I begin to see a change on the scales, I was often told that nutrition was 70% and exercise was 30% and now I wholeheartedly agree, I’m so excited to be fitting in to the clothes I’ve always wanted to fit in AH but even more than that I’m so grateful to be feeling better too AH - my take home message, losing weight involves developing a good relationship with food and in my upcoming posts I will be discussing intermittent fasting and intuitive eating, try the whole foods and try mixing up your exercise and then thank me later 🧡

⚠️ hairdressing isn’t always about balayage, re-styles or even beautiful outcomes... this poor lady was seriously ill in hospital for a considerable amount of time with only 5% chance of surviving. This week I have spent the total of 13 hours untangling all of her hair after it not being looked after by family, friends or the nurses during her stay. After all this time spent I really wanted a happy ending but that unfortunately didn’t happen for this lady, from all the pressure and weight of her hair over the last 8 months being knotted into one place and all the medication she has been on it has left her with very fine hair and in some places non at all. I really hope she comes back when she can make a decision with what she would like to do with her hair now (cut wise) and I can share with you all the after picture. #downsideofmyjob #luckytobealive #tangledhair #project #nhs #coventry #warwick #warwickshire #warwickuni #leamington #colourist #uhcw

Day 15 of heart awareness month ❤ I'm just going to leave this beautiful poem I received yesterday right here 😭💔🙏❤ @_melkennedy
When your heart is feeling heavy
And the days are feeling dark
And you find it hard to feel joy
There’s a girl who lights a spark
Her smile it goes from ear to ear
Her wonder never ceases
Her jokes and happy attitude
Will have you over in creases
You would never know that Thalia
Would be needing a new heart
As she is as beautiful and happy
as she was back at the start
A life can be so altered by a little one it’s true
So why not on this valentines try something a little new
Share this post for Thalia and help to spread the word
It’s a day of love and sharing gifts in case you haven’t heard.
The greatest gift you’ll ever get is simply to have life
Help give Thalia a second chance and end her families strife.
So think about the future and think what you would do
If you needed someone else to give the greatest gift to you.
Be the change you want to see all over this big world
Take the time and spread the word for this special little girl.

Today I heard somthing sad...and now im just gutted i didnt share this with you sooner.....a few weeks ago I made this retirement gift. Working for the NHS for 40 years what a hero.
He was retired not because he wanted to but because cancer (🖕) forced him to....but today I found out he didn't even survive long enough to receive it😔. Instead it was given to his wife as in honour of his service 💙.
Idont no how many times I've said this and how many more I will but cancer is a wanker.
