Breath is the vehicle of consciousness and so, by its slow measured observation and distribution, we learn to tug our attention away from external desires toward a judicious, intelligent awareness. -BKS Iyengar Light on Life

When I first shot this boat, “Tara”, I wasn’t too keen on that metal line coming right at me, but I had no choice as the boat was on a trailer. I had to maneuver my camera between the hitch and the boat so as to eliminate the trailer from the shot, but had no control over the line and chain. I just knew i loved that Hershey’s kiss drop of purple and blue, and wanted to give it a shot.
Well. I’m happy that I did. It’s a bit different for the series, but I love it and it always seems to elicit a strong response.
What do you think Check it out at YJ Gallery through July 20th. .

There is an estimated 18 trillion gallons of water in the Long Island Sound, which is enough to supply New York City with water for 33 years! It is roughly 21 miles wide at the widest point and 113 miles long. The waters can reach up to 350 feet at it's deepest point, a channel known as "The Race". The Race is located between Fishers Island and Little Gull Island and serves as the main entrance into Long Island Sound. It's also a very abundant fishing ground.
