If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me “what exercise do I do to get rid of this?” Pointing to their stomach fat, then I’d probably have about $86 more than I currently do 😂 but anyway on a serious note.. That saying abs are made in the kitchen, is bang on! Exercises will only help to build the muscle in your abdominals but as long as there’s a heap of fat there, they won’t show. 
You cannot spot reduce body fat, meaning you cannot specifically work a target area with some magic exercise that is going to make you lose fat in that region. It just won’t happen. That time old notion of doing 100 sit ups a day to bring out your abs is only going to build the muscle under the fat, but until you get on top of your nutrition and learn how to lose body fat, they will remain hidden.

If you’re not drinking enough water, your body is going to hold onto the water that it does have already stored to be used.

Again, you most likely haven’t gone potty yet because you’re NOT DRINKING ENOUGH WATER. The little fellas that have been cooking all night long are dried and can’t properly be removed from your system.

You may or may not have seen the new guidelines from the Heart Foundation. If not here’s a brief overview: 👉🏽 Full-fat dairy is back in! Unless you suffer from high cholesterol or are overweight then low-fat dairy may be beneficial. So yes I’ll keep ordering that full cream latte that tastes so bloody good.
👉🏽 There is no limit on the amount of eggs you consume. One of the cheapest forms of good quality protein! Type 2 Diabetics are given a limit of less than 7 per week.
👉🏽 Red meat, as always has it’s limits. There’s numerous links to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke with excess consumption. Less than 350grams per week! Of course this is for your average person! If you’re an athlete, fairly active individual or a female, then your limits may differ.
👉🏽 Plant-based protein sources are your go to! They’re not only good for your heart but your gut bacteria will LOVE you! The more variety of plants each weeks = a greater variety in ‘good’ gut bacteria.

The best quote of them all “Eating more plant-based foods like vegetables, fruits and wholegrain, and healthy proteins like fish and seafood with smaller amounts of animal-based foods, while cutting down on highly processed junk foods is key to good heart health” … Heart Foundation, 2019.

The more I find out about Rhett, the more I realize we're the same. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
• Daily activity regulates his energy levels. (To calm him down) ⁣⁣
• Daily exercise regulates my energy. (To give me some) ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
• Without exercise, he gets bored & chews things up. ⁣⁣
• Without exercise, I get bored & eat snacks. ⁣⁣

• It's recommended that Rhett exercises 3-4 times a day. ⁣⁣
• I rarely sit down between lifting, coaching, running, and coaching again. ⁣⁣
With all that exercise, I have to make sure we are both recovering effectively. ⁣⁣

For Rhett that means some nap time, water, & food. ⁣⁣
For me, that means giving my muscles what they need. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I've always enjoyed putting in the work whether it's been a bootcamp, 5k, lifting, or a long walk. ⁣⁣
That's where the process would end. ⁣⁣
The next morning I'd wake up being sore, fatigued & dreading my next work out. ⁣⁣
I didn't understand that the work is just 1 part of the process.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
After years of trial & error I found something to prevent the soreness, replenish my energy, & be ready to get back in the gym. ⁣⁣

After a workout your body needs 2 things to recover: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐧 & 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐬. ⁣⁣

While there are multiple sources of both, there's an optimal combination that begins the recovery process quicker and increases the effectiveness of the recovery process. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Using a hydrolyzed whey protein isolate (Phormula-1) and amonosaccharide or "single-molecule" glucose (ignition) supplies your body with everything you need. Both Phormula-1 & Ignition are broken down forms ready to be utilized & begin the recovery & rebuilding process faster. ⁣⁣

The point of #crossfit is to create adaptation and to improve your ability to do work, lots of work, lots of different ways. Which improves your health and quality of life.

565 10lb PR. Moved rough but I’ll take it.

Imagine having to restart half of your journey.... I had a serious head and neck injury after getting a concussion and then getting another blow to the head before I was healed. This caused me to have headaches everyday for about a year and a half. My neurologist and physical therapist both agreed saying no more upper body work until further notice.

So imagine going 4 months without working out half of your body. I had to completely restart. And for the first month, I had to lift extremely light weight. Like the lightest weight possible.

Of course this made me sad and upset and frustrated. Working hard for something and watching it slip away every single day sucked. Not lifting sucked. Lifting 2.5 lbs sucked. Rebuilding sucked.

This is the first time I actually saw my transformation though. April⏩August. And I couldn’t be more proud... my upper body is back and stronger then ever. It’s a slow process, it can be frustrating but it’s not meant to be fast- it weeds out the weak. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. Let’s go into this week patient and determined, always trusting the process❤️

Happy Monday eve! Have you started this coming week off on the right foot? Have you set yourself up for success?? Sundays are traditionally meal prepping day (and soon to be football!🏈🍁) My feed is always filled with beautifully plated food  that has been cooking all day and all laid out in matching containers. I see banana quinoa waffles, greek yogurt with homemade granola, homemade meatballs with sauce from scratch and balsamic chicken with roasted veggies over cauliflower rice. Yes, this stuff does sound delicious but it also sounds like I would have to start cooking at the crack a$$ of dawn in order to make everything. I love cooking and baking but  that’s a little much for me. Usually I make a few different easy dishes for the week. Usually egg cups or hard boiled eggs, veggie sticks, and a lunch dish. Sometimes if I know schedules are going to be tight between Ron and I, I will prep some things for dinner like taco meat. Last weekend things got crazy and the beginning of the week was equally just as crazy. But I still meal prepped, the lazy way. When I say the lazy way, it wasn't take-out, or frozen TV dinner style lunches. 
Fast and lazy food and be healthy too. So here it is a snapshot of the lazy meal prep, this picture was taken on my lunch break, that I was working through (of course) What is it? 🌱1 Veggie patty, cut up 🍚Frozen steamable rice- really look into to it LIFE SAVER! 🥫Canned green beans (no added salt) **Don’t hate on the canned veggies. Yes, fresh is best but canned veggies are great for you too. 
P.S. If you are that person who is waking up before the sun to start you meal prep. A+ to you, and I want to come eat your food. And if you ARE NOT that person but you are still making healthy choices and setting yourself up for success A+ to you too!!🤩🤩

Welp this concludes my mini 5 day food tour in ny🤤
Ended back up in philly today after my trip to nyc and tried out @winkelphilly a new brunch spot👅
I got the crab cake Benedict and I mean look at that yolk porn🤤🤤🤤 they absolutely nailed it 👌🏼👏🏼
Ate out every meal, didn’t work out, but these are the moments that will last forever!!
Totally and completely enjoyed every second of it but definitely ready to get back to my own kitchen and gym🙏🏼 How was everyone’s weekend!?!? Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone🥰😘
