S N A T C H P U L L U N D E R 🏋️ An assistant exercise for the snatch ✅

Purpose: Teaches the proper timing and positioning during the transition phase from 2nd to 3rd Pull ✅

Common Errors: 
1) Legs & Arms dont move into position at the same time ❌

2) 'Muscling' the movement ❌

3) Applying too much speed & power for the current weight ❌

Application: 
1) Lean back slightly with the bar at the power position - more on basic barbell positioning later ✅

2) Arms must be relaxed ✅

3) Lower into the squat position while pulling yourself underneath the bar as you would for a muscle snatch ✅

Programming: sets of 3's towards the beginning of session. Can also be used as a technique primer for a main session or as the main lift in a speed session ✅

💡If you’re guilty of having rounded shoulders & generally feel you have weak posture - there’s a good chance you should be looking to strengthen up your rhomboids and lower traps. These muscles help support our scapular through day to day movement and training! 💪

💡One thing to be aware of, is that fixing postural imbalances isn’t necessarily as simple as “just work your back more”. Our lat muscles are a huge part of our posterior structure and insert onto the humerus. The lats are primarily responsible for extension of the shoulder, but also synergistically internally rotate the shoulder - So, if you’ve got rounded shoulders and you’re hammering your lats, you may be strengthening the internal rotation even further (potentially making the rounded shoulder posture even worse).

💡Strengthening your rhomboids and lower traps will inevitably help with posture, but if you’re hitting lots of horizontal rows (such as the seated row), you should probably do a more “scapular dominant” row to address the rounded shoulder posture. There’s two main ways of doing a seated row and neither are “right” or “wrong”. .

💡One variation emphasises shoulder extension, with a coaching queue of “pull the elbows towards hips”. This variation will have more of a lat focus due to the emphasis on the lat’s primary joint action of shoulder extension. If you’re guilty of having poor posture, try the other variation pulling the bar to the bottom of your sternum to emphasise the rhomboid’s primary joint action of retraction (pinch the shoulders and squeeze) for a trap/rhom dominant row. Try to avoid “shrugging” as your retract to keep your lower traps engaged & note that you may get more lower trap engagement in a supinated grip (wrists up). Hope this has helped 💪😃

It was fear the ruined my old life.

Its fear that keeps most people working at jobs they hate, in lives they wish they could change, stuck in their own comfort zone. Fear of not paying bills, fear of missing the next festival, fear of being fired, fear of not having enough and having to start all, over, again.

But that’s the price you pay for studying to learn a profession or trade, “working” for money and trying SOOO hard to “fit in” to the rat race we call life.

Most people become a slave to thier money and social media accounts, then get angry or upset at their boss, idols and friends for not reaching expectations, when it is our selves we need to have a long ass talk too.

Here’s an alternative. 
Get angry. Be pissed off, but don’t do nothing about it, this time!

You MUST do something about it.

Anger combined with love = passion, and passion is one of the keys to to a happy successful life.

Find anything to be passionate about and if you dont know what you are passionate about, Look up your search history and start from there.

No one is going to come along and help you but you can have anything you want if your actually willing to WORK for it.
