I’m currently working on a new commission and thought I’d share 3 things about my(artist)self:
1) I love the beginning stages of new pieces. Base layers are my favorite, and I legitimately get sad covering them up. #nerd
2) The beach is one of my favorite places to be, so I’m extra excited to do this beach house commission.
3) I love painting at night. Natural light is obviously ideal, but I’m usually most inspired after dark. Plus, it’s a relaxing way to end the weekend and start a new week on a good note, here’s to a happy Monday!
"Calm Sea" #workinprogress. While I usually enjoy creating #abstractart, I also like the idea of an #experiment! This #canvas is a #paletteknife #technique, and my attempt to #draw a #boats and #sea #landscape. #details to come, #staytuned
Morning x so y’all may have figured I’ve been on an acrylic bender the past week.. wet oil paintings everywhere with no room left to store any new ones so I went back to my old friend acrylic to find some motivation.. I don’t think I’ve slept 😂👌oh and glass bead gel is actually a thing 👏🤔

First oil painting since I’ve been back home — capturing Rome in all its beauty 🌿🚪🌿
Arco Degli Acetari, Rome. 15 years after a trip to Rome I finally painted the little spot. Then I found five years later while at the Piazza Navona that it’s a very popular little apartment for artists to paint!!!! Of all of my hundreds of travel photos from that trip, I was drawn to this one!! It amazes me how artists are attracted to the same spots of beauty, no matter how humble the origins are. Marc Hanson I painted this with you!! At least started it at the River School!! #roma #italia #Italy #painting #oilpainting #paletteknife #architecture #boldbrush #inspiration #palettes
wasn’t completely satisfied with the final product of yesterday’s painting so I decided to add a few more touches to it 🎨⚡️ now this baby is available for purchase! 💓 also wanted to share it in natural and artificial lighting :)
This is the 2nd layer from my last post. As you will see in the last picture. Always amazed how much it transforms from one to the next. I sometimes get too aggressive with my palette knife, hence the small gash in the canvas. #paletteknife #tear #canvas #color #abstractart #layers
