Reposted from @worldanimalnews_ (@get_regrann) - In response to a growing demand for information and how to get started crafting a #plantbased diet, #StLouis, #Missouri, will be home to the #UnitedStates’ first fully plant-based nutrition and culinary education center – the @Plant_Based_Center (CPBL).🌱
Caryn Dugan, (AKA) @STL_Veg_Girl, adopted the diet in 2008 in response to both her father’s untimely passing from cancer and her own diagnosis exactly 10 weeks later. She soon became St. Louis’ official plant-based nutrition, culinary and lifestyle go-to gal.
Dugan has strong ties with @ForksOverKnives, @PhysiciansCommittee and the @The_Plantrician_Project, all of which will be evidently apparent through classes and programs offered. These are trusted organizations in the plant-based arena and people put value in these entities. A speaker’s series, corporate team building, cooking classes and much more will be offered at CPBL. 🙏🌱

So I saw this recipe for Brown Stew Chicken using real chicken and it looked so good. I swapped the chicken out for oyster mushrooms (the last time I ate real chicken was in 2009 or 2008) and switched some of the seasonings and vegetables listed to make sure my version was #SebiApproved. Nevertheless, this meal was bomb.com— I’ve been thinking about making it for the past 3 weeks. I figured a Sunday dinner would be the perfect time to indulge myself. I added a side of wild rice and fried burro banana. Considering I’ve had a fever and headache all weekend, I’m so glad I dragged myself out of bed to make this and it hit the spot.. #MsAlkalineVegan

One of the most precinct sentences I’ve ever read.
There have always been individuals who have seen farther and spoke in hopes that the rest of humanity would one day understand. Let today be that day.
Three current individuals who see farther:
Learn from them.

I never visualise anything, EVER, but I sooooooo want to go beachside camping that I can just see myself getting out of the tent and running for a dip before breakfast to wash it off then with a scorching hot black coffee. Ahrrrr summer come. ⠀
Короче, у нас лето скоро (ха!), stay tuned на some camping from New Zealand.
Hey bbs! I’m back ☺️ I know it has been awhile since I last posted and I apologize for that. For the past few weeks, I couldn’t go outside as much and take pictures of content I wanted to post here. It’s because I was self-conscious and worried that a growing lesion below my left eye was cancerous.
Last month, I went to my dermatologist and got it checked out and tested for skin cancer. Thank god the results came back negative. However, it did come back positive for Actinic Keratosis. It’s a pre-cancerous skin condition that usually affects older people; however, anyone can get it if they are exposed to a lot of UV radiation from the sun. I never felt so relieved to hear that I didn’t have anything cancerous, but it did make me feel a bit uneasy knowing that it could have been if I didn’t seek treatment.
From this journey, I learned that it’s REALLY important to take care of your skin from sun exposure. Before, I didn’t wear a lot of sunscreen because I wanted to get that natural glow from the sun. But now, I understand it isn’t worth risking my skin being exposed to harmful radiation.
I hope my story gave you all some motivation to take better care of your skin and understand how long-term sun exposure can be detrimental. I highly recommend using sun protection products like a sunscreen higher than spf 30 to prevent any further sun damage. If you do see any unusual spots and growth on your skin, please go to your doctor ASAP and get it checked out.
*also I will update you all on how it’s healing and post some of my favorite sun protection products soon ☀️

I can’t explain happiness I just feel it.
Poverty and malnutrition are widespread.
790 million people in the world are chronically undernourished. About 27,000 children under 5 die of poverty and starvation every day.
Most edible grain is used to feed animals for meat, dairy, and egg production.
We grow enough edible grain to provide 50% more than is required for every person in the world. Most of this edible grain is used to feed animals for meat, dairy, and egg production. As a result, the price of grain has risen by hundreds of percent in recent years, pricing poor people out of the market for basic foods.
The world’ s cattle alone consume enough food to feed 8.7 billion people - more than the entire human population.
Feeding millions of tonnes of grains to animals and raising billions of animals to feed humans is callously indifferent to the undernourished people in the world, whose sustenance depends on the same basics (wheat, soybeans, vitamins and materials) as the food fed to factory animals.
Plant-based foods are a more effective way to feed people.
It takes many kilograms of plant protein fed to a cow to produce a single kilogram of beef protein. 80-95% of food energy available in plants is wasted when converted to meat for human consumption. It is more efficient for people to consume foods lower in the food chain (i.e. to consume the plant foods directly). Protein from plant-based sources is also healthier than the protein in animal sources and does not contribute to problems such as heart disease or cancers.
Everyone in this world deserves to eat. When you choose to go on a plant-based diet, you are not only eliminating the suffering of animals: you are also eliminating the starvation of children and people in the world and slowing down the process of climate change. It is also better for your health too and is a diet that has been scientifically proven to have the ability to reverse heart disease 💚.
