WEEK 145 // SUNDAY 🌸
At the beginning of this year I teased my BIG project / commitment for this year called #20by2020. I’ve purposely not revealed anything about this until now.
Some of you totally nailed it, whilst others came up with some interesting guesses (20 countries by 2020..um, YES PLZ UNIVERSE ✨✌🏻)
But tonight I officially spill the beans....
It’s simple really....
“20 by 2020” is my weight loss goal for this year. It essentially means I am committing to losing 20 kgs by Jan 2020 (& keeping it off for good! 👏🏻)
Fam, it was so excruciatingly difficult to admit to you all that towards the end of last year, I had gained back quite a bit of weight. I felt like I had let myself down, but more so YOU guys who have championed me on since day one.
It was a huge mental struggle to come to terms with & accept it. I have spoken at length about this to my close friends. I want you to know that it’s not the aesthetic consequence (actually looking bigger) that I’ve struggled with, but rather, being super humbled every time I train & am harshly reminded of the regression in my fitness & strength.
👉🏻 When I walk up to the squat rack & place single 5’s on each side, instead of 20’s, I am humbled.
👉🏻 When I lean forward to grab the bar when doing seated row & I feel suffocated by my boobs & tummy, I am humbled.
👉🏻 When I struggle to reach 30 mins of my 48 min power pyramid tread workout (whilst ya’ll are all nailing it), I am humbled.
👉🏻 When I have to search for gym kit in my cupboard that fits, I am humbled.
THIS. IS. HUMBLING.
When I look back to when I was the fittest & healthiest I’ve ever been, it was around “15 kgs ago”. I am thus using 20kgs as my benchmark for HEALTH (not aesthetic) purposes 💛
Being a #bodypositive activist, my msg has always been to do what you have to do to ensure your body is functioning optimally & is healthy.
I aim to practice this daily👌🏼
2kgs pm for 12 months.
One day at a time.
Ticking off sessions.
Doing my best.
