Happy fri-yay friends! I hope you’re having a fantastic week and N’joying the holiday season!!
The holidays can be a crazy time for many! I’ve been traveling a ton and while I’m super grateful and feeling blessed for all the opportunities and experiences, I’m also feeling exhausted, emotional and looking forward to spending some time at home catching up on work, prepping for the new year (exciting things ahead that I can’t wait to share with y’all) and tending to some much needed self care!!
During this time of year I find myself reflecting on where I’ve been, where i am and where I’m headed which can be as emotionally exhilarating & dizzying as spinning on the pole 🤣😜.
My pole journey began a little over a year ago, but I remember years prior many people suggested I should try it! My sister kept sending me links to places...and funny story:one friend said out of the blue “you should try pole!” Me: “ok why” Him “I think you’d be really good at it and really like it... oh wait you CAN’T do pole!!” Me: “Why” Him: “Because you like to wear clothes! You’re always all covered up and you have to take those off for pole, so you can’t do pole.” 😂😂😂 well here I am doing pole and yes I still struggle with the taking my clothes off part 🤣. However I do it anyway because... “they” were all right! Maybe not the part about me being good at it (working on getting there) but definitely about me liking it!
Here’s a video of me today doing all the things that make me uncomfortable! Baring a lot of skin, free-styling on pole without a structured memorized routine and having a ton of fun just letting myself go to the music even when I felt totally lost, clumsy or self conscious! Thanks @taralavalley for being such a supportive, encouraging coach & friend! I’m continuously inspired by your support and creativity! This space is also pretty magical @myhavenla & while I’m not sure I’ll ever feel totally confident in so little clothing it helps when the little fabric I am wearing is sparkly sequins, like this set by @forloveandlemons I’m pretty much obsessed with everything they do!😍💜 Do something outside your comfort zone and have a blast doing it my friends!
📒 #pdgargoyle #poletutorial from our brand ambassador, something for you to try this weekend!
@marinavish - A few people asked me to do a #tutorial for #pdgargoyle so here it is 🤗
1. Invert and hook the outside leg on the pole. Then hook the other leg on the pole, so this will be your #pddoublekneehook. (👆🏼To do it in a nice and clean way use the lower arm to push your hips slightly away from pole, this will let you keep your leg straight while you bring it in front of the pole before you hook it.) You should feel secure in your double knee hook before you move on.
2. Place the top arm lower in between your knees, take off the pole the bottom arm, reach it down behind the pole and grab your top foot (to do this it is important that you can get your head low in this position). Place the other arm on the bottom leg (calf). 3. Rotate your chest towards the ground and by pushing strongly through your bottom leg, lift up your chest and arch up your back.
4. To get back, go down with your head and replace your hands in between your knees first (starting with the one that is holding the bottom leg). So here you are again in the double knee hook, you can choose either to place your hands over your top knee or unhook the top leg (the way I did in the video). I hope it will be useful for you❤️ Always have a spotter (or a crash mat) when you try new tricks, train safe ❤️ Outfit @superflyhoneyworld
