Guess who made the polka dot stuffed bunny that baby Brooke is holding
When Olivia’s 4th grade class was going to have a baby shower for their beloved teacher Mrs. Shafer last spring, Olivia wanted to make a stuffed animal for the baby. Since the baby’s gender was going to be a surprise on the day of the birth, Olivia came up with the idea for a two-sided bunny, a purple/pink side if it was a girl, and a blue/green side if it was a boy. (It was such a sweet idea, I didn’t want to throw the whole gender stereotypes thing at her just then.) She proceeded to design & create the whole thing with zero input from any of the rest of us.
What a joy to meet little Brooke today and what a dear-hearted Mrs. Shafer to remember Olivia’s gift, making a special point to bring it out during our visit. Little Brooke could not have honored the gift more than she did by holding that bunny close and sweetly biting its ears! Life is good!
