Top Heart-Healthy Potassium-Rich Foods

Potassium is an electrolyte that is essential for the functioning of our muscles, organs, nerves, and the fluid balance in our body.
Potassium and sodium are at odds in our body. The more potassium we eat in our diets, the more sodium we will lose in our urine and the less sodium will affect our blood pressure. Adequate potassium also decreases the pressure on the walls of our blood vessels, again leading to a decrease in blood pressure.
An abnormal potassium level, either high or low, often leads to abnormal cardiac rhythms. So it’s important to keep your potassium in the appropriate range.

#Potassium is a mineral essential for the proper functioning of your overall body. This means that low levels of potassium can have a serious influence on your bodily functions and affect your overall health.
This mineral is very important for the proper functions of the muscles, including the heart.
98% of the potassium resides in the cell, meaning that any small changes in its level will have serious effects on the nerves, muscles, and #heart.
Potassium deficiency can have an influence on many bodily functions including the digestion process. This can result in abdominal bloating and cramping.
When your body is deficient in potassium, it struggles to regulate the levels of sodium, which leads to salt-induced bloating.
As we said before, potassium deficiency can affect the health of your heart. It can cause heart palpitations and irregular heartbeat rhythm.
It can also disrupt the rhythmic and coordinated heart contractions controlled by electrical impulses.
Potassium is known for its ability to minimize the effects of sodium. This means that it is extremely important to consume foods rich in potassium so you will be able to control your #bloodpressure level.
The general feeling of #fatigue is another sign of potassium deficiency. This will make you feel tired not as a result of overworking or overexertion, but of no explainable reason.
Potassium is an important mineral that can promote the health of the nerves. So, if you are deficient in this mineral, you may experience annoying needles and pins sensation.

We want to know, what do you know about the Cacao Pod Comment below! We'd love to hear from you! 😃
Cooking up new, and staple, recipes is one of my favorite ways to relax. These raw seed energy bars are something I made back in grad school and I’m still loving them today!
#Butternutsquash is in season! Filled with #potassium for nerve transmission, muscle contraction and ❤️ function, this soup is also loaded with #magnesium, which helps over 300 enzyme systems in the body do things like regulate protein synthesis, muscle and nerve conduction, and blood glucose and blood pressure control! So for all my people with #diabetes and those #athletes out there, contact me for recipes!
More importantly, these are some of my favorite #intuitiveeating foods. Working on my #girlboss game, I packed with me one of my favorite salads, knowing I would get hungry spending hours at the book store. And you know you love a certain food, when you think “I miss you” at the last bite of that energy bar (but giving yourself enough, and knowing you can have more!)
Happy Hump Day people! Here’s to giving our bodies what they need, and speaking kindly to ourselves, and one another! 😊

Himalayan Pink salt is the purest salt known to mankind, layered far away from industrial pollution
The salt beds are set deep in the Himalayan Mountains. Some refer to it as “pink gold.” It’s been praised since forever, and people have always used in their diet.
When exposed to high temperatures, the Himalayan salt block develops a patina, same as cast-iron skilled does.
Himalayan pink salt is rich in calcium, iron, and 84 trace minerals.
The pink salt is rich in 84 elements that are naturally found in the human body, which means that by consuming it regularly, you’ll give your body all the minerals it needs.
Himalayan pink salt also contains #calcium, #iron, #potassium, and #magnesium. It’s low in sodium, which makes it a great substitute for table salt. The minerals are incorporated in tiny particles of colloidal size, and the body can absorb and metabolise them easily.
Himalayan salt blocks are the safest cooking utensils you’ll ever get. The pink salt acts as an antimicrobial agent, and its main purpose was to destroy microbes and preserve food.

A cousin of the beet, turnips only suffer from one problem—their name. Turnips are excellent at soaking up flavor and add a hearty element to your meals and stews. They’re high in calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and magnesium. Plus, they’re rich in fiber and have a great crunchy flavor.

🌿Wellness Wednesdays by @nursefionanutrition - Natural ways to support blood pressure 🌿
High blood pressure affects more than 1 in 4 adults in England – that is approximately 12.5 million people in the UK alone. There is robust evidence to show that lowering blood pressure can reduce the risk of stroke by 27%, heart failure by 28% and Coronary heart disease by 17%.
What is Blood Pressure
Blood pressure is a combination of systolic and diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure represents blood force, or pressure, while the heart is beating and diastolic pressure stands for blood pressure when the heart is at rest. A ‘normal’ reading is 120/80mm hg.
What causes high blood pressure
High salt diet
Birth control pills
Heavy metal poisoning
5 ways to lower Blood Pressure naturally
🍌 Increase Potassium in your diet: Potassium is a key mineral that helps to lower blood pressure by balancing out the negative effects of salt consumption. The more potassium you eat, the more sodium you lose through urine which can help support blood vessel walls. Foods rich in Potassium include coconut water & bananas.
❤️Coenzyme Q10 daily: CoQ10 in an antioxidant critical for supporting heart health. Research shows 200 to 300 mg of CoQ10 per day can reduce blood pressure. That's because CoQ10 makes cells healthier and less vulnerable to constriction, which can elevate pressure inside blood vessels.
🥗Ensure adequate mineral intake: Most people take a multivitamin but what is more essential for heart health is obtaining minerals through our diet or a Multi-mineral supplement. Low minerals can cause heavy metal poisoning known to increase blood pressure. Magnesium, a mineral essential for over 300 reaction in our body has shown to reduce blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels
🐟Take Omega 3: One main cause of high blood pressure in inflammation. Recent studies have shown that EPA & DHA in fish oils reduce inflammation and improve heart health. Consume sustainable oily fish 3x per week or take a good quality Fish oil daily

I made a banana cake today by a rice cookerヾ(๑╹◡╹)ﾉ"
This is super easy and healthy cake for kids. You can just mix ingredients and steam it by your cooker or bake in the oven. ★Ingredients
pancake mix 200g
soy milk 100cc
water 1-2 table spoon
(please add small amount of water if your dough is too thick)
You can add some brown sugar or honey if you wanna sweeter cake. I added two tea spoon of mixed nuts butter this time and black sesame. I also like to add peanuts butter into this simple cake recipe. If you can get organic pancake mix or low-sodium pancake mix, it’s better. I used Japanese hot cake mix. Eat the small amount of the cake dough is the best way to bake perfect cake in my experience. ★This is classic recipe but I can’t recommend this one.Anyway just for image of cooking this video must be helpful. Please use my recipe than use many butter and sugar for your banana cake ٩(^‿^)۶
