I'm ok with my decade of aging. Ten years ago, I took a bet with a student of mine. He vowed to quit smoking and I vowed to do a bodybuilding competition. Little did I know, that bet would change my life forever. Lifting has helped me deal with just about every obstacle life has thrown me. It has shown me that perseverance will yield results. It has taught me a great amount of patience...something I have never been very good with. Although it is a very personal sport, there is a community that is accepting and understanding of everyone. Although it has definitely changed my physical appearance, it has more importantly changed my mental outlook. I have met a majority of the best people in my life through lifting. I have been told that I inspire others that anything is possible. Shit...here I am at 51 lifting lore than I could've though possible at 21. So here's to seeing what the next decade brings. Reaching goals of any type requires effort. Both physical and mental .
Having a plan will help too.
You can't move forwards towards progress unless you are prepared to get uncomfortable and do some things you may never have done before.
At first it may be hard to adapt to a new routine, drink more water , plan your meals or learn a new movement. But with time and practice things start to feel more familiar.
Results won’t come from what you do occasionally , they come from what you do consistently. ✅
