I ban this word from my clients lips.
There has been a lot on social media about fat shaming over the last week - it’s evil, it’s useful, it’s upsetting. Here’s the thing. It’s only when you’ve been there that you can really know how it feels, and to be quite frank, it’s shit.
Overweight people are told they are fat for many reasons. Sometimes it’s used as an insult by people so unintelligent that they pick out the most obvious and hurtful thing to say to someone.
Others try to shock people into losing weight ‘for their own good’ by saying they are fat. 
Telling someone they are fat isn’t all that constructive. It’s called fat ‘shaming’ for a reason. It makes you feel ashamed. You feel bad about yourself. How do you feel better? You comfort eat. Then feel bad about eating. 
Thus the cycle continues.
You can blame being overweight on genetics, metabolism, hormones or whatever you like and yes they play a part, as does cost of living, having time to cook healthy food and exercise. However it’s often down to choices.
I was overweight because I loved food, ate too much of the wrong things and didn’t exercise.
My parents once told me I was so overweight they were afraid I was going to die.
I was the one who had to make the choice to change. I needed to motivate myself, find the strength, stop letting everyone else dictate my identity and become the person I wanted to be.
The word ‘fat’ makes my tummy squirm, it throws me back to a time where I felt uncomfortable in my own skin and judged by others, because let’s face it, you’re making a judgement by calling someone fat.
Weight issues are a battle some of us will fight all our lives, others are lucky not to experience it, but it doesn’t make you a better person than everyone else.
Shame on you for shaming. @ravenswall now has a permaset. This is a scattering of boulders around the centre that won’t be taken down. They are all graded as a specific V so they are good to use a benchmark for progress. You’ll be able to spot them since they all use wooden holds. Word of warning - wood is nice on the skin, but super slippy compared to the plastic holds so be extra careful on them! I think the two setters for these problems were @andrewyorkieyork and @fyfeeboywonder - so thanks to those two for some really cool problems that’ll be sticking around. I managed to do the V1s, the V2 and a V3. Plenty more to work on since they go up to V10...

First up is a V1 slab. I actually found this quite tricky to figure out a good sequence - the hardest part being around about in the middle where I step through with my left leg and then bring my right heel up high. It was definitely scary to trust that high foot on a sloppy hold but once your past that it’s smooth sailing. The start has some really nice directional holds forcing you to be more careful with your body position.

Next is another V1. I found this one much easier than the first one. Pretty nice, standard corner problem. It’s funny how even on a problem like this, the holds being wooden completely changes the feel of it.

Next up is a V2 built around two aretes. Nice high heel to start. My footwork isn’t as smooth as I’d like it through the middle but not too bad a climb.

The jump to the V3 problem was pretty tough for me. Luckily, I found a sequence break that works perfectly for me. I’m not too sure what the intended beta is, but I know it ain’t this since I don’t use 3 of the holds... it will be interesting to work on figuring out the “correct” way of doing this one!

Not my best run not my worst, I haven’t shot in a minute and it’s about to get cold soon for shooting competitions but I always can count on my @1stphorm hoodie to keep me warm. . . . New @limcatguns is almost finished and I cannot wait for me to shoot it and for y’all to see it !!
