I bet there's a thousand skills you wish to have. However, (newsflash) going to one workshop on meditation or make-up just does not cut it. If you wish to master a skill, it will take time.
There's a saying that has stuck with me: "Don't practice until you can get it right. Practice until you can't get it wrong.". And trust me, this does take a lot of time, but will leave you not an apprentice, but a master. Doesn't matter whether it's doing your nails, speaking Chinese or networking. Mastering it will prove invaluable in the long run.
So arm yourself with patience and consistency and become truly great at whatever you wish to pursue.

Also today is my 7 year anniversary with Brandt! 💗 I don’t talk a ton about my relationship on here; but ours has made it through high school, college while at different schools always at least an hour away, and now settled down in a new city living together. Although we are both only 22, I was very certain early on that Brandt was always meant to be in my life. We have both grown immensely since we first met (at age like... 15) and still continue to grow together now. The hard part about starting a relationship so young is that you have a lot of learning to do and mistakes to be made as a young adult. Especially taking on college and doing distance, communication and patience was always key. Brandt has poured so much love into me as a best friend, partner, and inspiration. He always pushes me to get better whether it’s testing my comfort zone or digging deeper into myself. He’s kind, funny, diligent, passionate, caring and too smart honestly (I like being the smartest and he’s forever challenging me😈). I beat him in chess the other day but I think he might have let me win. I can’t say enough good things about him and I’m just as in love as I was when I was 16 💕 ———————————————————————————

🌸I broke 140! I weighed in today at 138.4!
🌸I don’t have a gym membership but I’ve been utilizing the trails.
🌸Still tracking calories on most days because that’s what works for me.

I’m down visiting my parents with my kids. My mom had a little surgery that I took her for yesterday (yes she’s doing awesome, thanks for the prayers guys), but it’s a little mini vacay being away from home. So I threw my kettlebell and some bands in the car and told myself I would still get my workouts in #noexcuses and so that’s what i did, in the 105 degree heat....and yes I’ve eaten some bread while I’ve been here, but guess what, I don’t have to downward spiral or ruin my progress bc of it. I’m going to enjoy my life, and eat some food I don’t always eat, but I’m also gonna fuel it and keep it healthy, it’s called #balance. I love #keto and I am about 90% keto and 5% low carb and 5% whatever i want, however 💯 with exercise!!! It makes me feel good and strong 💪 so if I eat a little bread or cake, I feel like Im gonna be just fine. Plus, I can’t wait to get my hands on some #ketones that @keto.nat is sending me so I can see how it helps me fuel my workouts even more!! Inspired by @the.natural.life @wandering_wild_home @thegypsyblendco and many others to make infused vinegar for cleaning.
Citrus peel and vinegar, pop in a dark dry place for 2 weeks and then use in your cleaning. Apparently it no longer smells of vinegar. 🤯 While I am not too bothered by the smell simply because I would rather have that smell than the toxins in my home 😷🤢😡, my family dramatically die each time they use any cleaning sprays with vinegar in them. Which is all of them 😂

Opening up my own one on one training facility and still training clients online. If I fall flat on my face, I can say I at least chased a dream and tried, right!!" _____

Be proud of your achievements, whether it’s forward or at times a few steps back. Enjoy your movement journey. It shouldn’t be a chore. It’s a way to move your energy and shake off what no longer serves you while having fun. Mind you, also find a way to challenge yourself and do things out of your comfort zone. Progress takes time:
The first clip is from my first ever CrossFit comp I competed in by in 2015: Other than the questionable shorts and the video looking like it was filmed on a potato, the standout are the poor technique, mobility issues , stability issues and generally poor movement quality. There is pretty much a issue related to every joint from ankle to shoulder and I look physically pretty brittle, at the time my pb 500m row was around 1:33
The second clip is from Tuesday, it's pretty noticeable the form and movement quality is better, and by body doesn't feel like it's made out of fibreglass as often: my current 500m row pb is around 11 seconds quicker.
Those differences didn't happen over night, it's taken 4 years, countless reps and intervals and bit by bit the differences start to show.
The actions we carry out today probably won't show up as the outcomes we set out to to achieve for sometime: today's erg or weights session won't directly translate to a pb tomorrow, and meal we eat today won't lead to instant weight loss or muscle gain..... It's all just part of a bigger process.
Trust that the decisions and actions you carry out today lead to the things you want further down the line. .
Trust the process.....it just takes time.

I know it looks like I’m just relaxing with my friend, but I’m actually training! 🧠
During the summer my girl is a dog sitter and has been for several years. Since I’ve progressed so much with my training over the past several months, I’ve become her assistant! 💪🏼 My girl only brings me to houses 🏠 when she has permission (people do not 🙅🏻♂️ legally have to allow me into their private homes under ADA law) and when she trusts that the other dog(s) will be okay with having me around.
I’ve never come with my girl to Archie’s house before, and I rarely go into other people’s houses in general, but I’m doing great! It’s important that I’m able to be calm and do my job in many different environments, so this is great training for me. 👍🏼 My girl set up a nice blanket spot for me to lay during my down stay, and I’m being so calm 😌and tolerant around my friend by letting him cuddle on the couch with my girl. He’s just borrowing her, though. She’s mine, but im being a good sport about it. 😇

LISTEN I am all for the whole ‘body positivity movement’ 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫…..
Walking in my closet and fitting into my clothes. Feeling confident in the pool with my children. Getting rid of the pain in my joints due to the excess weight (𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝟹𝟶𝘭𝘣𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘺’𝘢𝘭𝘭!).
Yes, I will love myself in this process but I will not accept that just because I am a mom of three littles that I now have to carry around extra lbs for life. I will not use the ‘body positivity movement’ as an excuse to eat like crap and then tell myself it is because I deserve it— or YOLO.
Because after a major indulging in those foods I won’t feel better…physically or mentally. I’ll likely end up spiraling and letting it knock me down. So I will choose to eat clean for ME for the majority of the time. Yes I still eat treats and drink and don’t feel guilty about it, I’ve just found the balance that makes me feel the best!
I have worked to find a solution that helps me feel CONFIDENT in my skin again. Am I perfect.... 😆... far from.
I just deserve to be and feel my BEST 🙌 we all do!
This is the video of my 275 # deadlift PR from Tuesday. I am going to invest in my own belt so I can perfect this form and move some serious weight.
Either the frame or the mat was going to be crooked. I prefer the mat 😂 i started training for Starbucks today and let me tell you, I am one of those persons that modifies their drink all the way, I don’t think I like being that person anymore 😂
