Lately I’ve been thinking about the direction of this business of mine. And what drives me. What I’m passionate about. And as it’s all been marinating in the back of my mind...I’ve come to a conclusion. I’m passionate about YOU.
There’s a lot of crap out there. And I’m working through my share right now. But when I’m running watercolour workshops, I forget about it all for a moment because I’m just enjoying creating an environment where people feel comfortable enough to zone out to a paint palette. For me, that really defines the success of a workshop. When everyone looses track of time because they were lost in their own world of colour and intention...
It’s so important to be able to switch off when you need to. To have a healthy out let for day to day stress and tension. Even if you paint just for yourself and your sanity...you are worth that.
And it’s not really about what you create on paper. It’s about the space you create in your head. I know it can be scary. But please if you haven’t, give it a go. Just you, some paints and a blank piece of paper. Do it 🌿

Hey baby, waste your time with me in California ❣️
Good morning 🙋🏻♀️ Bailey hasn't quite grasped what a weekend is and decided that I needed to be awake when my alarm normally goes off 🙄 I managed to stay in bed another hour before she insisted I got up with her. The fire is on and coffee has been made!
left my apartment early this morning. in my bag are a few books. Normal People is among them, which i have yet to finish. the last few weeks have rushed by like a time-lapse and i did not make enough time to read. i guess that’s what starting a new job and learning to navigate a new environment do to you. they make you forget about the things that are important.
i also brought along with me Durga Chew-Bose’s Too Much And Not the Mood. i wanted to reread it for quite a while and now feels like the right time. it emanates the kind of mood i want this vacation to be. maybe books are my kind of my mood boards. does that make sense
anyways, as i am typing this, it’s still dark outside and everyone around me is sleeping. time to reflect. this past week was filled with moments i never want to forget. i went to a reading of Ocean Vuong and was spellbound by his skillfulness with words and story-telling. a true master. every sentence he uttered so casually seemed like something i should write down.
then there was the climate strike. about 200 000 people marched in Berlin alone. it was a somewhat eerie experience (lacking words for a more accurate description). people dancing, holding signs that made you smile and cringe at the same time because of the sad truth they told about our climate, our government and the world we live in. there were so many young people, students and kids. so many kids. forced into a future that looks bleak. i have yet to find a way to deal with the emotions i felt yesterday. i am f****ing angry and sad and stunned and terrified. i don’t know how to end this on a more positive note. maybe that’s what protests should make you feel so you keep on acting.
these are just some rambly reflections. i have noticed that there are a lot more people in this little corner of the internet somehow. welcome! hope this does not feel random to you. just felt like writing. 💛 #momentsofmine

My lip can't be sealed when I get up close to the seal😄
Three years ago Tay and I walked our first Pride together and today we strutted it again (as a pink and white dream team). I think our shoes say a lot about who we are as people. 📸 @mister.perrett
Its been a week of gem 💎 hunting ! My favourite of the week remains this 2ct unheated natural sapphire. Typically people go for sapphires in the deeper shades , but as a gemologist I like to go for the obscure and unusual , and this piece shows the natural light blue hue that only an unheated , natural sapphire could display . 💙💙💙 Truly mesmerising and refreshing 💫 Think of natural stones as stones that don't wear any "make up". Their value is always higher and stays through the centuries as natural stones become more and more rare.
In celebration of this beautiful Indian Summer we have been having.... waking to crisp misty mornings (with a slight fear that Jack Frost has visited the dahlias) and experiencing this gentle golden light has made a week of ridiculous pain (from a cracked rib) so much more bearable and next time I will open the gate rather than climb over the fence with armfuls of plants and a trowel!
sweet dreams 💫
one very thoughtful info booklet fit for a destination wedding filled with recommendations (from dining, make up artists to medical needs, you name it!) and the big day’s schedule, where all unfold under the timeline of how they found each other ✨ #FelLeninLove #priscapaints
Looking at pictures of last years Christmas wreaths inspired me to make an autumnal one yesterday. Despite the glorious sunshine over the last couple of days it defiantly feels as if autumn is here. Blackberries are looking good. #flowersbythebridge

And another shot of the most perfect library in London 🌸 This weekend is supposed to be one of the last milder weekends we have for the year (with up to 25 degrees today) - so whilst you're out in Hampstead Park soaking in the last of the sun, I highly recommend you take a quick stop by Kenwood house as the house is definitely more beautiful on a sunny day 💕
