Wow we sure are living in a digital world!! Think 🤔 I made the whole gym deaf today with the amount of screaming I did today . Another PR goal smashed 85kg ATG squats 4 reps with the help of my strong friend @pia.plyo who had my back all the way & got me to push out one more rep when I was exhausted from the 3rd rep . I don’t really let anyone spot me I lost my faith a long time ago as I had somebody spot me in my other gym who didn’t keep there an eye on my squat nearly lost my position but luckily I always have god watching over me I got back up by myself. Today I am blessed to say I have this girl in my life I haven’t known you for long but it wasn’t coincidence I met you I saw you as a strong woman in the gym & I will always give credit to people who deserve it your dedication & to inspire others to be more is a gift be proud of yourself because I’m proud of you to have you in my life . 💪🙏💕

Think 🤔 I made the whole gym deaf today with the amount of screaming I did today . Another PR goal smashed 85kg ATG squats 4 reps with the help of my strong friend @pia.plyo who had my back all the way & got me to push out one more rep when I was exhausted from the 3rd rep . There are plenty of obstacles that prevent us from doing exercise when we are so overweight. After weight loss surgery it is expected that we exercise. For many that is a giant challenge. It is at this time that we must push ourselves out of our comfort zone and be challenged. If we consistently do something, the easier it gets and the positive is change. Change is good. It creates the ability to want to do more. Who says big girls can’t run? We SURE can! I know, today’s society depicts a runner as a slender (of course) young girl, swinging ponytail, short, tight running shorts, size small sports bra (of course no boobs) muscular, toned legs, abs and arms, barely breaking a sweat as she runs her 6 miles in an hour! That’s not us. That is not me. The reality is that most overweight women shy away from running because YES let’s face it, it’s hard as hell. Who wants all the rolls jiggling everywhere as we pant breathlessly to run a block? Right? WRONG! Running can be VERY challenging and rewarding at the same time and no one cares if you don’t fit that description above. It is a form of exercise that costs nothing to do, except for a good pair of sneakers (a must) and that’s it. ✖️Embrace the struggle • Sometimes it’s good to push yourself out of your comfort zone, right?! That’s what I kept telling myself as I sweated and swore my way up this sand dune! Give me a squat rack and 80kg barbell any day!🤪 With the encouragement and motivation from the locals (I met a couple of really sweet girls up there) I managed to do it 5 times without dying 🤣 One of the guys warmed up by running up and down the stairs at the side 10 times! I felt so unfit in comparison. But that’s why we shouldn’t compare. That’s why I’m going to use his strength and inspiration to keep bettering MYself!!💪🏼 Next year, I’m going to aim for 8 laps after a warm up on the steps. So I finished a 60 day workout program and wanted to share my results. .

60 days of commitment. 60 days of “I can’t believe I made it to the end of that workout.” These workouts were tough. I chose this program because I knew it would push me to grow not just physically but mentally. .

The workouts got extensively harder after the first month and I remember the first exercise of the second month I was like “there’s no way I can do a month of this.” BUT I DID! It wasn’t always pretty but, I made it happen. I am the most uncoordinated person ever, I can’t jump more than a half of an inch off the ground, and honestly I’m pretty weak (but getting stronger). I’m honestly surprised I didn’t hurt myself during one of these workouts. 😂 I learned early on I would have to modify some of the moves but that’s okay. I listened to my body, I was careful but pushed myself harder each day. .

Let me tell you, the most powerful mindset change is when you continually push out of your comfort zone. Oh and that “after workout high” is the best feeling ever, especially when you do a really hard workout. I feel like, In that moment -I could conquer the world. .

One important lesson I learned through this 60 days is; don’t sell yourself short. If I would have succumbed to the thought of “there’s no way I could do this, it’s too hard,” I would never have grown in the ways that I did. I would not have experienced the mind-shift that I did. So, next time you think you can’t do something; do it, to prove to yourself that you can. The cool thing is the more hard, “ I can’t do this” stuff that you do and conquer, the easier the next hard thing gets. When I have a challenge in front of me I can always remind myself “remember that one ‘impossible’ thing you did that one time, yea -you got this.” 💪🏻✌🏻

This was my face after teaching my very first class here! I look thrilled right?!? At this point I was just SO glad it was over, I was smiling through the adrenaline CRASH. Yep, crash! After class I crashed hard! There is an extra level of stress and anxiety for me that comes with doing something for the very first time. First time teaching this format. First time teaching in this location. First time teaching in front of my boss. Then, I also had a camera on me for someone to judge, I mean assess me, as a coach later.

There will still be some nerves next time, but nothing like today! Before class I stopped by the gas station and grabbed a Dr. Pepper. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Fully knowing it was a coping mechanism for my anxiety. It wasn’t a good choice, physically or even mentally. But, I did it anyways. I can own that! I took two sips before walking in...and it didn’t even help at all. But, it did lead to a great conversation with my kids. They called me out on it! (They are listening to me about making healthy choices 🙌🏼) This opened up the door for us to talk about being nervous, being scared and anxious. We talked about healthy options for expressing ourselves and seeking help. I shared that two of the best tools I tend to use are prayer and reaching out and talking about my fears. I explained, it’s ok to have fears, we all do over different things. I went on to share how we can take control of our fears by verbalizing them. When we share them with someone and get them out of our heads/hearts we take control! I shared how my ability to share with them in those few moments was helping me! It didn’t make it all go away but it sure helped. Before going in we all said a prayer together. Then after class the kids followed up with me all on their own. Such a proud Momma moment! I thanked them for their roll in helping me!

Next week these kids will be facing their own fears...first day at a new school!!! There is lots of excitement, but there is also some deep rooted fear among them. LOTS of unknowns! They won’t even see the inside of their new school until that first day!

It’s awesome when you can see progress. When I first started lifting a few months ago I was lifting more than 10kg less than this for my work sets now I can bash out 5 reps at 52.5 (though granted this isn’t the prettiest set ever!) feel like cracking that 65kg 1RM is getting closer.

Day 49... another fun Saturday! Gym,beach, soccer & Birthday party!! This workout was killer my shoulders are officially shot! Did a EMOM for 15 mins can’t remember the workout but I did first couple sets with 65lbs until @ashleyelizabethcole walked past laid down two 25lb plates. Guess that was the sign to add more weight. Finished the last 12 rounds with 85lbs. Tomorrow is my active rest day and I am FINALLY using my birthday massage @ndel81 got me! Day 49... another fun Saturday! Gym,beach, soccer & Birthday party!! This workout was killer my shoulders are officially shot! Did a EMOM for 15 mins can’t remember the workout but I did first couple sets with 65lbs until @ashleyelizabethcole walked past laid down two 25lb plates. Guess that was the sign to add more weight. Finished the last 12 rounds with 85lbs. Tomorrow is my active rest day and I am FINALLY using my birthday massage @ndel81 got me! Day 47..we did a mobility class today with @womackperformance . learned some great tricks to help better my squats! I decide to stay after and did a quick 30 Min sesh. Did marching with WB, bicep curls, oblique and Tricep kick backs. This week has been kind of blah.. hormones going back, feeling more tired and my eating hasn’t been the best. Some days eating some days I forget. Still trying to find the balance. Right now the gym is my “me” time and my place I love to be! Nothing beats getting ass kicked with other like minded people!! I took pics yesterday and was annoyed I didn’t see much change. Megan reminded me it’s been less than 2 months. I find the food balance is my hardest part of it all!! 👉🏼favorite healthy snacks?? Also would love some recommendations for snacks that will ship overseas good!! Day 45...holy shit burpees. When I hit 50 I honestly wanted to quit so damn bad. I walked around trying to catch my breath and was thinking Fuck this! So glad I didn’t give in and finished it! Trying to find time⏰ to get in your own workouts as a Fitness Instructor can be tough. But this summer, our Instructor Sharon @freshsoulfitness is making it a priority🙌🏼! She has signed herself up for a 21 day workout challenge at Fit Body Bootcamp @fitbodytuxedo 💪🏻. Sharon is loving the classes! They are 30 minutes long and you work your entire body. In class today, Sharon worked on back squats, chest flys, jump squats, kettle bell swings, and ended the class with a ton of ab exercises.

I'm sharing again because I hope to inspire someone to believe in themselves. .
The ME THEN was insecure, unhappy, hated being in her skin, and was super self-conscious.

The ME NOW - - totally different person. Complete opposite of who I used to be. .
And the downright truth y'all is that I put some focus on ME. I woke 30 minutes earlier to do a home workout while everyone was still asleep. So my ME time did not interfere with my family time. Together with my family, we spent a few hours on Sunday's preparing and prepping foods for the week so that our breakfasts, lunches and dinners were in order and/or ready to go. The time spent on Sunday eliminated after work dinner stress and put money back in our pockets because we stopped eating out 4-5x/week. These simple changes created huge change!!! Positive change that today is priceless!

Friends, I want you to know that you ARE worth giving yourself 30 minutes a day. That you can create change in the space and time you currently have. That you don't have to spend tons of money to become the healthy and fit person you want to be. I want you to know THAT YOU ARE WORTH IT. .
