Happy anniversary to me 🤣 19th June 2018 my last day in a job I stayed in for 6 years miserable, it sucked the life clean out of me. Hated every minute sitting in that office. I was so down on life felt I couldnt do anything anymore. I felt brain dead. 
One year on...it is the best decision I have EVER made. Probably the happiest day of my life walking out those doors for good. I feel alive again, my journey has just begun, my brain is awake again and I want all the brain gainz 🧠 I never want to stop learning 🙌

Do you get overwhelmed at the list of things to do My life feels so behind - the first half of June is a blur as I was either at the hospital or at baseball. I had zero time for anything else! So now I am eating back into a little more normalcy and I am finding myself not getting as much done because I am overwhelmed with the list. I saw results, but more importantly I 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝑭𝑬𝑬𝑳 the progress in my mindset + mental health. I started living life again with two toddler boys at home I was a tired Momma that felt like she lacked something for her. I worked on me, and started doing the things I loved to do, having more energy in my days and truly started being HAPPY inside again.

ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕕𝕤𝕖𝕥, 𝕔𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕝𝕚𝕗𝕖.

This journey is no longer about a number on a scale, but just being strong in my daily life- to handle all of the things that come at me easier and better, with more self-care to keep stress lower, with more happiness inside and out and more health to run around, feel good and be here for the long run! My biggest change has been MINDSET and my health no matter how crazy life gets, will not get thrown to the wayside anymore. It's never perfect, but I am not a quitter anymore. I never give up.

On Friday’s we flex because we remind ourselves that we are strong and capable of doing anything we want! And when days we don’t feel strong, we muster up the courage to dig deep and find it because it’s in there somewhere. Being on a health journey isn’t about being a size or number. It’s about feeling strong mentally and having the health in your mind and body to take on life’s challenges. I am turning 44 next month, and never have I felt stronger in my body and mind. When I work on me, I become a stronger person and that is what I am proud of today.

Felt like a little body weight circuit before bed didnt take too long but I just felt like moving a little.

I haven't been in the gym as much lately and I dont beat myself up about it like I used to. I'm always doing something. I'm on the go all day in work, I do yoga, I did a mobility class this evening and I love walking. Very seldom do I have a day of nothing I cant do everything so I'm just doing a little bit of everything when I can ❤

Today is all about celebrating SMALL WINS. In my own life, and by helping mentor others in their health journey and virtual business I have learned that@often we focus on a BIG goal and get discouraged when we feel like it’s so far away. Don’t be so hard on yourself, life is about giving yourself grace and taking baby steps and celebrating them. The big picture feels overwhelming so we don’t start or we lose steam. Celebrate the small wins like that you said no to ice cream because you want to save it for a weekend treat, or you chose to workout versus sleep in. Maybe you helped a new person in your business. Maybe for the first time you attempted weights or took a walk around the block after dinner instead of late snacking. 
Celebrate the small wins. Hope is lost if you get discouraged along the way when the big goal feels so far away or daunting. Start small and keep the hope that small wins add up to be big wins because they do!

Today my message is— exercise is not about being a size, number or just looking good for an event or in a swimsuit. It’s about having a quality of life where you can do everyday tasks with strength, good balance and be here for the long haul. Same for nutrition- it’s not a diet or deprivation. It’s just fueling your body right for energy, feeling good every day. Tgwrws no quick fix, and if someone tells you that you can drink a manic potion or wear a wrap to get to your goals then think about how that will help you combat disease or give you a quality of life (in bones, organs, blood, muscles)? I know sometimes we don’t think we need to exercise or eat good because we don’t want weight loss- it’s not about that. It’s about training for life! I train everyday for life- not for a number, size or to look good for an event! 
I hope you keep that in mind as we often get an unhealthy perspective of food or workouts and it can be healthy if you view it as fueling your body and keeping your body healthy for a quality of life!

I used to run all the miles to then eat all the things. 40 pounds came in with the emotional eating I did post losing my Mom to cancer. Self-care was not a priority and it was no surprise that anxiety, insomnia and stress also piled on.

Now at 43, I have a self care routine in place that I have had for 5 years. Even in stressful and hard times, my exercise and my eating clean hasn’t changed. In fact, it may even be more on point because I am not feeling up to any indulgences, or even cocktails right now and I need my workouts to help de-stress and cope. Health is wealth, and during the tough times we have to focus on self-care in order to get through and have an outlet for our stress. We need to feel good to stay healthy ourselves too.

Never underestimate the power of daily movement- I call it moving meditation. When life throws you curveballs you are better equipped to go through it if you have a workout, eating, hydration & sleep routine that is a habit you can stick to the beat you can. It won't be perfect during the rough patches in life, but if that habit is there it will still want to show up. It will help you weather the storms because self-care is ESSENTIAL. We will pay for it later if we don't take care of ourselves.

I even love a good leg or booty day or upper body focus as when you get to constantly mix it up you work everything. Family + Fitness + Fun = Summer

This formula above is what I am striving for this summer. Today as I got to join my 1st grader on his field trip to the MN Zoo, I was reminded how precious these memories are and how the years FLY by. 
When I quit my corporate job to raise kids at-home, I knew I wanted to pursue my health & fitness passion, so I went from instructing just 2 classes a week while I was working to teaching 4-6 a week while I was at-home. It was awesome for that moment in my life, when a Momma break was needed and I could check the boys into the daycare and go teach class while also getting a workout in. It felt great to be around others and doing what I loved, but being there for my guys.

But as a couple of years passed, I added Personal Trainer cert and a few hours of clients on top of classes. I still got to bring the guys with and check them into the daycare. But the question in the back of my mind was always- when they go to school full time do I want to work at a gym full-time or have more flexibility?

That's when I opened my virtual gym. Yep it's super unconventional. Yep, I have certifications that I worked hard to get so I could work at a brick and mortar studio or gym and help people with their health and fitness goals. BUT, I knew myself-- and that meant I felt pulled to be my own boss, create my own schedule, be my own brand and be able to help people ALL OVER, not just those in my local area (I still could do this, just on a smaller scale). So this summer will be my five year anniversary of having this flexibility and freedom with my schedule, being able to contribute financially to the family but also call my own shots. It's for sure an unconventional job, and some aren't up for the entrepreneurship grit that it takes to show up every day without someone to check in with but I have loved it because I get to be ME, and work around my family and help more than I could and will just in-person. 
So this summer my business hours will be 8:30am-10:30 (post workout and coffee) and then I am calling it for the day. My guys and I are going to have an epic summer of fun, because to me making memories with them is a top priority. 🍦🏖💕

You see, that area I have been insecure about since I was a little girl. I had a family member (not immediate) tell me to “suck it in” during family pictures as I had a tummy as a little girl. That is not a way to instill confidence and it definitely now that I look back at it, was body shaming in a sense.

Well today, at the age of 43 I will confidently post this. I see a strong woman who has bared two kids, who has lost 40 pounds, who practices self-care with daily exercise and eating clean but also enjoys white wine, tacos, guacamole and desserts. This body hugs little boys at bedtime every night, it has ran two marathons, it has cared for a sick Mom who has passed before her, it works hard but plays hard.

This body doesn’t care about size, or a number. This body cares about being strong to do a lot each day including carrying bundles of groceries at a time or lifting her kids’ bikes. This body is confident in the skin it’s in.

So please oh please, let’s stop body shaming ourselves and just love ourselves for who we are, what we have gone through, and what we will endure. We are strong and beautiful just the way we are and are not defined by any comment that has stuck, any size or number.

Self-love takes time, but start practicing it now because man does it feel good when you can just let go of any old insecurities and just boldly love yourself and move forward. 💕

Why? Because I have been in a consistent journey for over 15 years. I have never been this healthy at 43 but don’t kill myself with hours a day at the gym or following a strict diet. I have found balance and no matter how busy I am it still gets done.

Do not overestimate the power of starting and sticking to a journey. It never is perfect, it’s just progress and keeping at it more than you don’t. It’s worth the work to feel good, have energy in your day, be happy and healthy inside and out and in your skin. ☀️

Feeling good in your own skin is something you have to work at everyday. 
I remember not feeling good in my skin, but I also did nothing to change it. I compared myself to others. I told myself I couldn’t change my circumstances- being 40 pounds over weight, working at a job I didn’t love, and having much anxiety post losing my Mom to cancer. I accrued a bunch of debt. I coped with emotional eating and way too many nights indulging in drinks. I never learned to eat well, or practice self care. I never had the courage or confidence to look for a new job. I let bosses bring me down if they told me that I couldn’t be more or do more. Even as a new Mom I wondered if I would be good. I had a colicky second baby and spent many days crying or anxious. I wondered if motherhood was for me, this wonderful gift I was given but it stressed me out to the point I didn’t sleep for six months. 
Then I decided that I am not a victim of my circumstances. Everyone goes through tough times. It was up to ME to feel good in my own skin and embrace the curveballs and change my perspective.

I started with exercise, to give me an outlet and something for me. I added in learning to take out processed foods and refined sugars. I then got my healthiest and began to gain confidence inside and out. I started each day with gratitude- writing down what I was thankful for. I got my workouts done before my kids woke up so I was in control of the day and not the other way around. I stopped telling myself I can’t, and changed it to I can.

As a Mom-and wife, I no longer question if I am good enough. Yes I have bad days but I know I am doing my best, I am imperfect but always growing and learning how to be better.

In my virtual Influencer business I no longer worry about what others think about my health posts, but I know that I am helping other women learn and practice self-care and that’s all that matters.

We can hold ourselves back from so much, so my message today is work on YOU! Never put yourself last or everything suffers. Change the things you want to change and the things you can control. Let go of the things that you can’t control, and the things that don’t serve you.

Day 3/30 of getting back to heavier weights followed by HIIT training. I am so sore it’s hard to wash my hair, thankfully I only do that twice a week. 🤪 I am hungry as all get up so possibly moving up in my calorie bracket. Who knew a short gal like me could burn up so much food in a day, bodies are crazy. But I am feeling good heading into a holiday weekend where I will still slay my goals but enjoy a little balance at the BBQs and bonfires. My motto is never lose sight of your goals, keep working at them and there’s room for hiccups, lots of imperfection and overall balance. But there’s never an option of stopping. This lady is not a quitter in anything in life, and all good things are worth fighting for so why would my health be any different! ✌🏻When you get excited to wake up and do your thing each day you know you have found a lifestyle that works for you.

I used to do this in my 20s! My friends all got married before I did, some found their dream jobs and pay. I was always wishing that was me and envious. There are so many things we can’t change. There are some we can like careers or health (adding in exercise and eating better). We can control our attitudes and our mindframe. We can learn to love the skin we are in, and where we are at if we stop comparing, stop wishing and just live in TODAY and get out there and go after goals and dreams.

Nothing can stop you from being who you want to be, except you! 👊🏻

I used to do this in my 20s! My friends all got married before I did, some found their dream jobs and pay. I was always wishing that was me and envious. Today I chose the hard path on Camelback mountain. It went from a hike to a rock climbing adventure. At times it was scary. There was loose gravel, yuh had to use both hands on the way down to hold onto rocks— but I did it. I was up for trying something new and hard. The views were amazing. There’s a feeling of accomplishment when you are done.

So never be afraid to try that new thing. Don’t let your fears hold you back. Go out and take risks, have fun, fail along the way and enjoy views you would have never seen if you hadn’t decided to try.

Self love....💕 I didn’t always have it. 
I didn’t always take care of myself.
After losing my Mom when I was 21, I let emotional eating take over for years and one day I looked at a picture as didn’t recognize myself at 40 pounds more.
I always put everything and everyone else first but didn’t see myself as worth it or deserving of happiness. 
But nope, one day I fought for me. 👊🏻
I started exercising and eating better.
I carved out me time 4x a week.
I made a date with myself.
I got to know me and what I was about.
I began to be comfortable with myself. 
I started to eat better too!
After those 40 pounds came off, I felt good in my skin and I found myself again. 
Ever since then, I have shown up for me every single day. That weight loss was 15 years ago. I also gained and lost that same amount with each kid but I always got back because I knew what to do.
My 15 year journey has not been perfect. 
It has had ups and downs. But I have never stopped, never taken a break, never give. Up.

I know what it’s like to start from day 1. I know what it’s like to have it feel like you’ll never get there. I know what it’s like to not feel good in your skin. But I am telling you- you deserve to feel good. Exercise and eating healthy is a form of self love and once you start you will see it as a part of your day just like brushing your teeth! I can help you practice self-love too as now i am able to pay it forward in my virtual Health and Wellness Influencer role. I am a DM away!

Do you ever wonder what would happen if you threw caution to the wind and just went for it?

Whether your stuck in your job, or your health routine change is scary, but it’s often the thing you need most to break that stuck feeling.

I was a lady who hated her job in corporate life. I was a lady who was 40 pounds up and had no idea how I let that happen. I was also a tired Mom of two toddlers who didn’t know how to eat or workout to get results, I was in survival mode.

But in all three cases I was finally sick of being stuck. I wanted change more than I wanted to stay the same. So I threw caution to the wind and CHANGED my ways. 
Becoming a virtual fitness and nutrition coach almost five years ago, has taught me more about fitness and nutrition than studying for my Personal Training exam. It enhances what I had learned in the text books because now I can apply, tweak and be a ginuea pig and then help others. 
I cant imagine life without my job, which to me doesn’t feel like a job when it’s my passion. 
So go for it- what’s holding YOU back from being stuck?

It was FREEZING the coldest Tough Mudder I’ve done which made it mentally challenging. Everyone did AMAZING to push through. Some fears faced for many in the team!!! Everyone smashed it considering how COLD and hilly a course it was. 10 miles, 25 obstacles!! So I set a goal to finish out my first year post hysterectomy that I would conquer the 50’ tower. Now I could focus on the fact my shoes 👟 weren’t the right equipment and I didn’t hit my goal, instead I’m going to focus on now I have to new goals to find a better pair of 👟 to climb and that next time my starting point begins at the arrow (where I ended this time). Besides I may not have gotten to climb 50’, but I did get to fly it. And that means I did at least get to answer the question “Am I scared of heights” Hell no! London Marathon completed in 4 hours 10 minutes and 54 seconds! 😊. What an unforgettable and once in a lifetime experience. I met a guy at the start line who said the race begins at mile 19, and the race then is your head....he was right! You have to dig deep for the last few miles, but it’s so worth it! Seeing my family and lovely friend Jooles at mile 23 was amazing and helped spur me on for the last leg. Anybody who is thinking of signing up for next year’s I would say do it! Whilst the training can be hard work at times, the reward at the end is worth every missing toe nail and aches! 😆Thank you again for all the well wishes and donations, I’m completely blown away with your generosity and support. In total I’ve raised over £2,800, which will help grant wishes for some wonderful and deserving children. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this! I met a guy at the start line who said the race begins at mile 19, and the race then is your head....he was right! You have to dig deep for the last few miles, but it’s so worth it! Seeing my family and lovely friend Jooles at mile 23 was amazing and helped spur me on for the last leg. Anybody who is thinking of signing up for next year’s I would say do it! I signed up to run a MARATHON. A trail marathon in August! I have been a runner since middle school-competing in track and cross country races along with a half marathon (and let me tell you after that half marathon-never did I think I would be signing up for a MARATHON LOL-but here I am, things change and If it’s on the bucket list, ya gotta do it🤷🏼‍♀️)

I am looking forward to that competition that will happen during runs, when that little voice inside my head will try to tell me to quit. You know that voice that likes to always point out when you are tired, thirsty, or in pain🙄I look forward to training my mind and body to push through and keep going-without listening to that annoying voice. .

So excited for this experience! Anyone else out there training for a marathon? I would love to hear any marathon runners advice!! In the meantime, I better get outside to test out my new shoes and get my first run in! .

I signed up to run a MARATHON. A trail marathon in August! I have been a runner since middle school-competing in track and cross country races along with a half marathon (and let me tell you after that half marathon-never did I think I would be signing up for a MARATHON LOL-but here I am, things change and If it’s on the bucket list, ya gotta do it🤷🏼‍♀️) . I am looking forward to that competition that will happen during runs, when that little voice inside my head will try to tell me to quit. You know that voice that likes to always point out when you are tired, thirsty, or in pain🙄I look forward to training my mind and body to push through and keep going-without listening to that annoying voice. . So excited for this experience! Anyone else out there training for a marathon I would love to hear any marathon runners advice!! In the meantime, I better get outside to test out my new shoes and get my first run in! . 26.2 I am coming for YOU!🏃🏽‍♀️
