For those that didn't get the joke my RDL prescription was 666, 315 isn't especially beastly 🤷‍♂️ I feel the need to say there was a certain fitness post that pissed me off today. I ain't dumb enough to call out this big influencer since I'm a nobody, but I feel the need to say something.

Some days you are not going to feel motivated to do much of anything let alone train. Some days you just don't want to train period. Today was one of those days for me even though I'm excited for a Deadlift comp this Sunday. Dude said "fuck motivation. And fuck feelings" this is idiotic and something a 16 year old would say. Grow up. No, we can't always get motivated. No, we can't always dig deep and pull out the feelings we might perceive we require to perform our best or even to just get the job done. But we need to understand that we have to do it anyways and that just because we don't feel it now or aren't motivated now doesn't mean today is a waste or we shouldn't go through with something. Go through with it and do it right and get something out of it because you know deep down, even if you don't feel it right then and there, you want it, you want to do this thing. So do it. We all have our off days and demons to battle, just don't let those demons or that off day get the best of you. Do the thing for yourself. Go train. Go run. Climb the mountain. Fight your demons. Better yourself.

Throwing in some new moves today. With a double pause deadlift, one pause during the ascent at just below the knee, then another pause on the descent just above the knee. Not sure how long I’ll keep this one in, but increased time under tension can’t be a bad thing.

Also finding new ways to use the new tire sled. Grab a dip belt and some chains and go for a really slow walk. I may have to improve the design to stop weights falling off, and also make the chain a little longer… Sled drags are a surprisingly killer calf workout too.

⚠️Long post ahead (;⚠️ The pain from the cartilage defect in my knee has gradually been getting worse. I'm in the process of making a decision on what to do about treating it and there are no easy answers. I'm quite limited in what I can do CrossFit wise--unable to run, row, jump, or squat (unless it's to a 20" box😬) which is disappointing, but I try to put it into perspective--I can still do movements. Not all, but many still! And my shoulders are gettin' strong!💪

My knee will put me out of the Open this year unfortunately😔 But I will be at the gym judging and cheering on everyone! It will be a different experience, but it will be neat to sit back and take it all in. I'm incredibly competitive so normally I'm so focused on the workout and doing my best in the workout each week that I forget to sit back and enjoy and talk with our community of people!

⚠️Long post ahead (;⚠️ The pain from the cartilage defect in my knee has gradually been getting worse. I'm in the process of making a decision on what to do about treating it and there are no easy answers. I'm quite limited in what I can do CrossFit wise--unable to run, row, jump, or squat (unless it's to a 20" box😬) which is disappointing, but I try to put it into perspective--I can still do movements.
