❓Do you have old art supplies 🎨 laying around and would like to put them to good use If ✅, DM me! I’m cleaning our our art room on this ☔️ Saturday and taking duct tape, chalk, paint and lots of other supplies over to @the_kid_factory. Cindy Robinson runs this non-profit and what she does is truly unique - she hosts pop-up cardboard playgrounds all around Greater Atlanta with a focus on creative play to help tackle anxiety, depression, and overall mental health and wellness for kids. Doesn’t get much better than that!
We did another little fill-up at @bulkbarnfoods. (They’re still offering 20% off any bulk items purchased in your own container!) Here’s what our tiny pantry currently looks like (plus a few packaged items that we still buy!). We don’t have much kitchen space, so we really only buy what we use on a regular basis. All jars are re-purposed sauce & olive oil containers! What are some of your pantry staples
Side note - I’m curious @jason_ofield - what does your pantry look like

This is how @misskarmakills see a 21st century fish.
Due to a lack of media coverage, the accumulation of plastic in the oceans is a far bigger problem than most are aware of, because these are extremely long-term, very persistent, deadly, toxic chemicals that do not degrade in days, weeks, or months, but rather over decades or centuries. As the plastic degrades into smaller and smaller polymers, this “confetti” becomes “neustonic,” meaning it is now “bio-available” to sea animals, or small enough to be ingested, and can enter the digestive tract of sea animals that eat it. As a result of our use and subsequent discarding of plastics, over 350,000 marine mammals are killed each and every year by either eating plastic or by becoming entangled in it, including dolphins, whales, sea lions, seals, along with countless species of fish. Approximately 100,000 sea turtles are killed every year by attempting to ingest plastic bags which are mistaken for their main source of food, jellyfish, and over 1.2 million sea birds die every year from ingesting plastic.
Don't be ignorant and stop using single-use plastics. Be the change you want to see in the world. .
(P.S. All the plastic bottles used for this photo are recycled after)

SLOW DOWN - THINK!
We can protect the environment we live in if we recycle effectively, because recycling reduces the need for raw materials; therefore, the rainforests can be preserved.
Instead of throwing my old clothes into the waste bin; I always bag them up and take them to the Salvation Army Recycling Bins so they can be recycled and resold; especially where clothes are ill-fitting. I also recycle footwear in the same way and handbags etc. I always check first if there is someone who can benefit from the items first; especially if the item has never been used before. Washing the items first prepares them for the Salvation Army Recycling Bins and other people. This is a great way to recycle, reuse and reduce the impact I'm having on the planet. I'm sure you can think of other ways to reduce your carbon footprint.
When something can be reused, it's pointless throwing it in the waste bin - SLOW DOWN and THINK who, or what could benefit from the item before throwing it away. There are plenty of countries who are in desperate need of your good quality items, clothes and footwear that maybe don't fit right anymore, or are getting a bit old. SLOW DOWN and THINK of others who have nothing and who would benefit from your unwanted things, or items. Give unwanted items to CHARITY to reduce your carbon footprint and reduce the impact on the environment and prevent climate change. *************************************

I love to joke that gardening turns you into a hoarder because you can reuse/upcycle SO👏🏼MANY👏🏼ITEMS 👏🏼in the garden! Made a little video of my favorite items to hang onto, to keep them out of the landfill and give them a second life instead of being just yet another piece of plastic getting tossed or recycled. Kristian teases me because I am always like, “oh don’t toss that, I’ll use it in the garden!” Link to the YouTube video is in my bio. 🎥
@adidas uses #ParleyOceanPlastic to update one of its classic shoe designs
as part of its long-standing collaboration with environmental initiative @parley.tv
The sportswear brand has updated one of its classic shoes from the 1990s with yarns made from waste plastic, making it the first time that they have used Parley ocean plastic to create a shoe from its Originals range, which is the company's line of heritage products.
