This piece is available now in my Etsy shop MoonsCuriousItems. I'm very drawn to European Baroque period gilded wooden pieces (I love the designs & the patina) & have been collecting them. Recently I got an empty reliquary from the 1700's & did a painting of a sacred heart which I put in the empty window. It's a terrific piece, wonderfully carved & nearly 19 inches tall.
I love the crown at the top. Here is a close up of the top of the piece. #sacredheart #flamingsacredheart #sacredheartofjesus #antiquereliquary #reliquary #baroque #baroquereliquary #handpainted #gildedwood
Throwing it back to a favorite pair of hoops from last year (or the year before) Because yesterday has me contemplating the greatest love story of all time: God's. When I feel especially loved and treasured by my husband or another person in my life (but especially him, because graces, 🙌🙌) I somehow feel more aware and open to the fullness of the love that Our Lord has for me in His Sacred Heart. And the crazy thing is it's just a tiny glimmer of how much He loves me. Like a peck on the cheek compared to the whole experience of a long, happy marriage. How amazing is that I'm just sort of sitting with that warm, cozy love today and basking in it. I hope you will too, friends. ❤
Several weeks ago I ordered this beautiful print of our Lord, the original painted by @sacred.art_castrillo. I had it framed and picked up the finished product last night. I love how it turned out and the pictures don’t begin to do it justice. The texture of the frame and matte complement the exquisite work of the artist Castrillo .We’re in the process of painting the room where it will hang. More pics to come. #sacredheartofjesus #jesuschrist #sacredart #catholic
Happy Feast Day
Saint Claude de la Colombière
Feast day: February 15
Patronage: devotion to the #SacredHeartofJesus, toy makers, Jesuit preachers, missionaries to England
Saint Claude de la Colombière was born to nobility and served as a Jesuit preacher in the French and English courts. In 1675 he was named rector of the convent where #StMargaretMary Alacoque lived. As her confessor, he came to support and promote devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the visions that St. Margaret received from Jesus. He was unjustly imprisoned and exiled to France during anti-Catholic violence in England which destroyed his health, dying in 1682.

Klaudius de la Colombiere, Pengaku Iman
Tanggal Pesta: 15 Februari

Those of you who know me, know that I LOVE hearts 💕❤️. We’ve all got one, & we have used it’s image to symbolize love & affection.
This Valentine’s Day, I want to share with you an image of a heart that many of you might have drawn in grade school composition books, have tattoos of it, or you might even find this image grotesque & that’s fair... I find this image to be absolutely beautiful 😊
It’s the #SacredHeartOfJesus. Created back in the late 17th century, the Sacred Heart of Jesus became an image of devotion after Jesus himself revealed his heart to many devotees in order to get them to understand him better. The heart is adorned with the Crown of Thorns that is symbolic of the sins of the world... every time the heart beats, it pours out blood that is shed for us- that’s Love ❤️ Also, the first church dedicated to the Sacred Heart, the Sacré-Cœur, is my all time favorite place in Paris, France because of its majestic beauty, spiritual energy, & personal significance... be sure to visit it when you are in Paris.
This is my favorite way the heart is depicted & I just wanted to share it with you all this Valentine’s Day. Love ya 😘
Here’s to my FAV 9 for ‘19 of 2018! My truest & dearest Valentines!💗 I know it’s February 🤣 and New Years feels like it’s forever ago, but I have extended grace to myself this year! Instead of putting expectations on myself to create a gazillion brand new goals and habits immediately this past January, I chose to maintain current habits and push new habit building to late Feb & March. I even left my beautiful 2019 habit tracker BLANK until now, to ease up any un-necessary pressure ( #powersheets ). I have enough experience now to understand that Jan is one of the worst months to create new habits! It’s cold & flu season, it’s immediately following Christmas, it’s cold out, and by about now (mid-Feb) most newbies have fallen off the wagon all together. If you are feeling like a failure these days....DON’T!! Where can you extend some grace to yourself What can you cut out to make more space for healthy habits & rest Can you choose to build 1 habit at a time Can you start working on food now that the major feasting holidays have past and add Fitness later Cheers to consistent & slow habit growth! (It’s the kind that sticks😘)
Be on the watch, my habit tracker for Feb/March is almost ready to share here!
We’re so excited to announce the first-ever CWF Lenten Retreat!
We’ve heard “God loves you” countless times, but it doesn’t always sink in, and remains more of an idea in our heads than a reality in our hearts. In the midst of the busyness and trials of this life we can forget that Jesus’ Heart is for us - for our good, for our victory over sin and for our joy.
Join women from all over Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School for a morning of reflection, prayer, and quiet adoration as we draw deeper Into the Heart of Jesus.
Fr. Brian Welding will offer talks and celebrate Holy Mass, and there will be opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration, fellowship, and plenty of time for quiet prayer. Set aside just a few hours this Lent just for you and the Lord!
SPOTS ARE VERY LIMITED, so we recommend that you register ASAP!

The ultimate Valentine. Jesus.
But in all seriousness, Happy St Valentines Day!
Despite my aversion to overly secularized holidays, I’ve come to like St Valentines over the years.
The actual Saint was from the 200s. The legend goes that the Roman Emperor has banned marriages on the idea that men would be more willing to go to war for him if they didn’t have wives and children to worry about.
Saint Valentine, a Bishop of Rome, was venimenytly opposed to this and performed countless marriages in secret.
When he was found out he was arrested, and while he awaited the verdict, he healed his jailer’s daughter’s sight, signing a note to her “from your Valentine”. The whole family of the jailer converted to Christianity and Saint Valentine was immediately sentenced to death by beheading for continuing to convert people to Christianity and for not sacrificing to pagan gods.
He’s a worthy saint for this feast day of love, promoting the importance of sacramental marriage even unto death.
It always makes me roll my eyes a little at both extremes of the Valentines - those who only want to talk about relationships and those who only want to talk about how Saint Valentine got his head chopped off.
Like pretty much all the Saints, Saint Valentine is so much more than his patronage. One aspect of a Saint’s life never can fully describe who they really were. It’s why I love the Saints so much!
This Sacred Heart painting is one of my favorites I’ve ever painted. Prints are available in the shop. The original is also available - DM me for pricing.

“O sacred heart, O love divine, Do keep us near to thee!”* Happy St. Valentine’s Day, everyone- God’s love to you and yours!
This is the original St. Valentine’s Day card that I made for my husband 3 years ago, and have since used iterations of its design in many projects. You may have noticed it in my work, here and there. :) Any of you enjoy making Valentines for your sweethearts

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with all its love, all its sufferings and all its merits.
First --- To expiate all the sins I have committed this day and during all my life. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Second --- To purify the good I have done poorly this day and during all my life. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Third --- To supply for the good I ought to have done, and that I have neglected this day and all my life. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
