On the 4th day of Christmas, our true love @pressroomsb gave to us, four @krombacher pilsners (drank the other two earlier)! The krombachers are a tried and true German style pils...pours a pure champagne gold with a light and airy foam...a subtle malty sweetness, followed by flavors of bread and straw, that culminates with the sturdy bite reminiscent of the classic pilsners of the region. A fan favorite for those that travel to the Press Room, a true Santa Barbara classic Pub where friends become family, and memories are made that are cherished for lifetimes. We at Das Beer Review are blessed to call this place our home away from home. So do yourselves a favor, grab a krombacher and cozy up for the holidays inside the Press Room, a place where legends are made!

I arrived last night into LAX from the East Coast. Rented a car and drove up to the perfection that is Santa Barbara, CA. Put up for the week at a nice little B&B that goes by the name of Motel 6 🏨. Started the day at Elings Park with Fly Above All paragliding school. Met up with them today at 0930, a quick sign of some paperwork and we were off to the hilltop to work on my poor kiting skills. I was really stoked to see that the course is actually taught by Chris Grantham himself. Chris is well known as one of the best instructors out there and after spending the day with him, I would say he lives up to the reputation. Chris is super laid back but very precise, professional, and patient in his teaching. He can calmly walk you through even the smallest details and keeps guiding you even when you feel like all hell is breaking loose. So far, really happy with Chris. We have another instructor with us who is in instructor apprenticeship, who is also super awesome. The winds today were crazy shifty all day long, so no flying was done. As much as I wanted to fly, I was happy to see that Chris made that call. It shows that he really values the safety of his students above all. We worked mainly on reverse kiting, as we had pretty strong winds, and steering the glider using the rear risers. This was new to me. I have been Paramotoring for about a year now but 99% of the time I do forward launching. By the end of the day, I felt pretty comfortable with rear riser handling and rear launches in general. My skills were definitely developing through the day. We ended today around 2 due to the wind picking up. I will now go buy some sunscreen and rest up. Tomorrow is supposed to be great weather and we are certain to get in the air. Check back tomorrow for Day 2. At the end of the course I will give a final review of the school for those considering getting their P2 certification. Until tomorrow, blue skies, Sky Monkeys 🐒. skymonkeysco.com
