We have no doubt you'll #LOVE this @stormhoekwine Sparkling Rosé Moscato. ✨🌹 The wine shows a stunning deep pink colour with pleasant aromas of strawberry, peach and floral notes. The palate reflects these fruit characteristics and is nicely balanced with fresh acidity. Enjoy chilled, in its own or with your favourite dish! Look for LOVE at local liquor stores in #BC and #Alberta.

Another Wednesday is here! 🥰🍷 and for this week’s edition of #winemakingwednesday, we’re taking it to the vineyard because that’s where I’d be if I was in wine country right now! 🙃 Today we’re talking ELEVATION, an all important aspect of vineyard management. Higher elevations generally imply the vines are planted on a slope, off the valley floor where richer, loamy soils lie. Just like us humans, vines need to struggle a bit in order to produce their best fruits. ✨🍇 The slopes allow vines to struggle deep into the soil in search of water and to pull up minerals and nutrients that translate into site-specific wines. Drainage is also important in the vineyard because vines don’t like wet feet. Slopes and gravity help with that, draining the water down hill. Higher elevations also typically indicate a significant diurnal temperature swing, meaning a big temperature difference from day to night. This shift is primo conditions for vineyards because it creates an ideal balance between ripe sugars produced from the sun’s heat during the day and crisp acidity in the grapes 🍇 preserved with the cooler temperatures over night. The drastic drop in temperature also slows the ripening process, meaning more hang time on the vine. 🍇 Concentrated sun exposure is also a factor at higher elevations. ☀️ Grapes will develop thicker skins in response to the increased sunlight, thus developing stronger tannins and more vivid color compounds essential for age worthy wines. 👌🏼🍷
