... last night I slept all alone and by myself in the bush on a small 5 mtr high wooden platform with a thatched roof and lighted by many oil lamps✨I proved myself as a brave woman by not calling my guide Shane over the radio in the middle of the night while the thunder storm above me said hello😳. I’ve enjoyed the silence of the sound incredibly and couldn’t stop listening to the howling of the hyena’s. Finally I fell a sleep😴. What an awesome experience I wouldn’t want to have missed😊💚 (more pictures and films about this night to follow once I am back home😉). Thank you once again @morukuru_family_madikwe, you know why your quests need🙏

THE SMALLEST SLEEPING PLACE IS PERFECT FOR ME

A word on sleep. For the last 4 days I’ve made a conscious effort to get to bed at 9.45 to be asleep for 10. Aiming to wake no earlier than 7. I find it hard to lie in, those that have been on a team with me know that. I’m terrible for getting up early but I am an early bird! My point is, in the lead up to a bigger race/event the ONE thing I try to double down on is #sleep. Try and clean up your routine for 5 days. See if it makes a difference. It certainly does for me. Let me know♥️🙏🏼

INSOMNIA SYMPTOMS & CAUSES 🛏

SYMPTOMS - The key symptom of insomnia is difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early, despite having the opportunity to sleep well.  For insomnia to be diagnosed, sleep difficulties must have been present for more than one month.

Other common symptoms of insomnia include: 
Fatigue, tiredness, or lack of energy
Problems with attention, concentration or memory
Difficulties performing social, work, or caregiving responsibilities
Making avoidable errors or having accidents at work or while driving
Low mood or feeling irritable
Tension headaches or digestive problems
Daytime sleepiness, or feeling ‘tired and wired’ during the day but not necessarily sleepy 
Worrying about sleep, or about functioning the next day

CAUSES include: Stimulates (caffeine, cigarette smoking, alcohol use, some medications, and some drugs), environmental factors (noise, light, heat, cold), health issues (asthma, bronchitis, and chronic pain), other sleep-related disorders (eg. Restless leg syndrome), breathing issues (eg. sleep apnoea), mental health issues, particularly anxiety and depression.
