Sometimes we forget that every life leaves a legacy. And every owner of a small business has taken herself to school - we learn about ourselves, our community, and our world through owning our own business, and creating our own #desiredlife.

When I started my business a few years ago I was doing everything and anything my clients needed. Transfer your email accounts Sure! Move your domains Okay! Create a logo by tomorrow Why not! I didn’t know any differently. Don’t get me wrong, I love my clients and I loved being helpful, but I didn’t know that I had a choice in the matter. I thought that starting a service-based business meant I had to be of service and address all my clients’ needs. And if I didn’t know how to do something, I figured it out. I didn’t think beyond that. I didn’t factor in that starting a business could mean that I get to do things on my terms.
Fast forward 3.5 years and, if you thought I was going to say I’m much better at knowing and setting my boundaries now, you’d be wrong. While I now do know better about some things...it’s still so hard to draw the line. It’s still a constant challenge to not step in and do it all. How do you place boundaries, create balance, and prioritize what to do when you love doing so many things that are difficult to neatly package up
If I’m being really honest, it feels like I still don’t know what I want to do and how I want to shape my business. Or maybe I have an inkling, but I can’t see it clearly, it’s fuzzy. And maybe I’m a little scared because it might mean radically changing things up and I’d have to start over in some respects.

Two days left to the birth of our third child, and we're playing the waiting game. Have had a few fake emergencies, so when this Boy cries Wolf again, we'll know if a trip to the Women's is due.
In the meantime, I am supercool.... #supercool #newdad #growingfamily #southmelbournemarket

With the first full wedding season for CBE nearing the end (we are three quarters of the way there so I can feel the slow down shift beginning). I wanted to reflect on the top three things I love about having this business of mine.
My job is the best - I’m not sure how it can get any better than getting to create and play a role in the most joy filled day of a couple’s lives. Especially after getting to experience my own wedding day, I want every couple to have all the love, joy, and happy feels on their wedding day. And the fact that it’s my job to provide the peace of mind and solve all the problems to give them the space to feel all that is pretty darn awesome!
The people - It wasn’t until I started this business that I realized how much I NEED great people. Time with my people fills my cup back up after a stressful week, and allows me the capacity to get back out in the hustle. This job allows me to have a steady stream of incredible people - clients, vendors, entrepreneurs, my support system of friends and family! The people are what keeps me going!
Flexibility is everything - while I’m still working hard to make sure my business works for me instead of me working for my business (that’s another topic for another day), business ownership has allowed me the flexibility that I thrive off of. When I finally quit the full time job, I wanted to be able to travel with TB, plan my days around when I’m productive, and take a day off if I just needed to rest after a long week. I love spending sleepy mornings getting extra cuddles from my pups, and having the freedom to jump in the car to take a last minute trip! I can’t tell you how important I’ve found it is to make sure I’m filling myself back up and having the freedom to make that happen.
Cheers to it being Friday, and to finally embracing that fall is here (it always takes me awhile to accept that summer is really over ☺️) Photo by @mrs_malicotephoto

So here it is! I finally bit the bullet on my name change and rebrand. If you already can’t remember who I am (shame) my account was formerly Sibby.letters. Thank you so much to those who have given me feedback already 💕⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
WHY THE CHANGE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I first started this Instagram I wanted something easy, that related to me, but didn’t want to use my name becuase it’s hard to pronounce. Sibby was my childhood nickname so it seemed fitting. But no one has called me Sibby in probably 20 years so it started to feel childish and further away from me as time went on. I also wanted my business name to reflect more than just lettering. I love lettering and it’s what brought my back to my creativity - and will still be the main thing I do/post (for now) but I really just love to make things....the name will hopefully make sense in a minute.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
WHY THE NAME⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I first picked the word blush because I love the color, but also because of the action of blushing. I do a lot of blushing and it’s very hard for me to hide any strong emotion because you can see it on my skin. I was then playing around with ampersands (who doesn’t love them) and other words and came up with faire. Faire is the French verb for ‘make’ or ‘do’ and I immediately knew that suited me and this little business. Finally, after a month of thinking if I should leave it or add anything, I added ‘creative’ to indicate what type of business I have!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I really hope you like it! It’s going to take me a while to switch everything over but I had to start somewhere and I have a couple events coming up I wanted the new name for!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
