When creating a social media strategy, it's important to have realistic expectations–and I'm not referring to potential outcomes (although we should be realistic when it comes to those, too 😉). I'm talking about time. ⏳ We need to be real with ourselves about the amount of time we have available and the amount of time our proposed plan will take to implement. It's easy to say we're going to post to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn "x" times per day or week. That's only four platforms. Easy peasy, right 🤷 Well, hold on.
You're going to have to create or curate all the content you'll be posting in those places. That's going to take a considerable amount of time and planning. ✍️ Also, are you only going to be using the main posting features for these platforms 🤔 Or do you plan on regularly using Stories, Groups, live video, etc. 🤷 More stuff=more time. ⏳ This is something you need to consider when deciding how many platforms you're going to take on and how often you're going to post to each.
OK, so maybe you've taken all of this into account and determined a realistic number of platforms and a reasonable posting schedule. Hooray! 🙌 Sorry to crash the party again, (womp, womp) but did you remember to consider the time it will take to engage with your community on each platform 😬 You can't just start a conversation and run. 🏃♀️💬 You gotta spend time connecting with your community. Oh, and don't forget the communities of others. If you want your circle to grow, participating in conversations happening outside of your circle is important. Phew! 😥 This is starting to sound like a lot, isn't it
Like anything else, if you take on too much it can be overwhelming. But if you're realistic with yourself and are willing to make changes when needed, it doesn't have to be. 🙌 Start with a plan that sounds easily doable. Tasks are often going to take more time to do in real life than they do on paper, so give yourself plenty of breathing room.
Do you ever find yourself getting overwhelmed with social Do you struggle with showing up consistently 🤷 Let's talk it out! Share your thoughts and experiences with us below! ⬇️
Last night was epic! DM me if there is anything in your life that I can provide for you. Allow me to earn my right to be here as a useful member of our society and be the hero for you that I never had myself growing up. 🙏🏼❤️🧔🏻 Love you my tribe!
Trying to do everything on your own instead of building a support network around you can so easily lead to overwhelm and stress.
But it doesn't have to be that way!
I've quickly learned that having a business coach or a mentor or even a business peer in my circle and close by makes a world of difference.
You might be thinking, I don't know what I would ask them... so I'm not sure how it would help me But, as soon as you sit down and just start talking... trust me the words will start flowing!
I always end up asking questions I didn't even realise I was stressing about.
If you're looking for some extra support and someone to help you get unstuck, then getting a business coach may be the right next step for you.
