Throwback to Eric Dyer’s 2014 exhibition opening of Copenhagen Cycles. Head to the website to learn more about the exhibition.
onald Feldman Fine Arts will exhibit Copenhagen Cycles by Eric Dyer, a visual artist, filmmaker, and educator, in his first solo exhibition in New York. Dyer has won numerous awards in film festivals for his distinctive animation style based on the zoetrope, the pre-cinematic device that produces the illusion of movement by displaying a sequence of still images. Through his own elaborate process, Dyer reinvents the zoetrope to explore a visual language of loops and spirals that transcends real-time video documentation.

A beautiful piece by Cameron Hayes from his 2018 exhibition. Head to the website to learn more.
Ronald Feldman Gallery will exhibit a series of figurative paintings by the Australian artist, Cameron Hayes, for his fourth exhibition at the gallery. The paintings evoke the phantasmagoric worlds of Bruegel, but his scenes address the contemporary world. The paintings, some as large as 6’ x 8’, are visually complex, depicting groups of manic figures in absurd scenarios. Hayes’ vision of the human condition is comic and bleak, yet laced with poignance. The detailed paintings reward a close reading.

An installation view of Rico Gatson’s 2001 exhibition. Head to the website to learn more about the exhibition.
Rico Gatson will present several large-scale video works based on popular Hollywood movies and black exploitation films. Projected as large as six by eight feet, the DVD videos consist of repeated three-minute loops, each an appropriated scene of recognizable iconography reworked by the artist. Using an array of cinematic editing techniques, Gatson explores the relationship between the clichés of cinema and embedded cultural systems of thinking. Hypnotic and visually arresting, the videos recreate the power of moviemaking while investigating the subtext of what our culture calls entertainment.
