Cades Cove settler Russell Gregory lived atop this mountain in a circular stone cabin near the summit. Russell would graze his cattle during the spring and summer months when the fields below were needed for growing crops. The story goes that Gregory, who (like most residents of the Cove) supported the Union during the Civil War, was murdered by Confederate bandits while defending his land and cattle.
Sliding barn doors | chevron stone flooring + natural timber beam = the perfect snack bar! 🍬🍿🍪 @timbertrailshomes
It’s getting cold outside; snuggle up with your partner.
So, I might be a little bit of a “control enthusiast” and that’s putting it nicely. I don’t like surprises, and I try to keep a pretty tight grasp on all aspects of my life. So last week when I left town for a conference, it was a tiny bit scary to give Bryan total free reign on a piece. Thankfully, it turned out beautifully. @dixiebellepaint Drop Cloth with a dark coffee stained top, and just enough distressing to really make the details pop.

Who says handicap accessible bathrooms can’t be pretty! Loving the way these black doors with white bronze hardware pop against that pretty curbless tile shower.
Recently, I’ve been asked a number of times about Instagram stories. How to do them, if they help, what they’re actually for. So here’s my 2 cents on how stories are used. I am by no means an expert, this is just my take, so please add your tips in the comments!
I use stories for more informal, in the moment photos and videos that I don’t necessarily want on my feed. I love seeing candid moments from people I follow and love connecting with them by watching them talk to us in their story videos. @c.b._designs does an amazing job in her stories by taking us on shopping trips and showing us how she decorates her house, @cottonstem is the queen at hopping on everyday and connecting with her stemmies!
Some believe that if you post a story when you post a regular post that it helps with the algorithm. Meaning, it helps push your post to the top of your followers feeds, in the explore section, and puts you higher in the hashtags you use. I don’t really notice a difference, but I post regularly to stories so I’m pretty much no help on this one 🤦🏼♀️ Once you have 10,000 followers you can add links to your stories so folks can swipe up and be directed to the webpage that’s being shared. Many use it to share links to products they’re talking about, link to a new blog post and/or post affiliate links. An affiliate link is a special url that is set up to show you a product at the same price as you would normally see it, but behind the scenes it gives the person sharing it a small commission. A lot of people are torn on the idea of making money off links. I believe that if you connect a customer to a company, and it comes at no extra price to the customer, that you should get a commission. If someone is posting links for the sake of just making money versus sharing what they love, it shows, and they lose their loyal following as a result. A lot of folks spend hours curating products, setting up the perfect photo shoot and more than deserve a small commission for all that. For me personally, generating and posting affiliate links can be a time consuming exercise for the reward, but I know others have had more success with this. What are your thoughts

Vintage Trailer Tricks:
1. Buy a foam mattress
2. Cut foam to size for the dinette bed, stuff into an appropriately sized duvet cover. (Cover may be a little loose on the ends)
3. Fold in half. Make another cover with duck canvas that has a zipper or buttons that run the length of the "giant pillow" so you can easily unzip the mattress for the bed.
4. Or you could attach motorcycle straps to the canvas cover and sinch the ends for a more rounded pillow.
5. Maybe later down the road, we move the dinette to replace one of the twin beds in the back and make the front of the camper a bigger bed or open seating.
Disguising the foam mattress as a giant pillow is a clever way to store it. This also serves to keep friends from leaning against the screen and window, as well as preventing them from bumping heads on the corner shelves.
So the almost new retro curtains that were just done got converted into throw pillow covers.
