#marchday Today, I went to march with some of my #beauties and oh boy, it’s been some time since I marched, I think the last one was, in SF. It was so #inspring and #enpowering to see so many #beautifulfaces all ages, colors and shapes coming together for something that actually matter. Bunch of middle schoolers and high schoolers gave #incredible #speeches and I was so proud to see our future is actually #bright in the hands of those beautiful boys and girls giving those speeches. I took lots of photos but this one is my favorite. One of those teenager girls’, #sign says “ guns have more rights than my vagina” way to go girl, cause it’s so #real, go #changetheworld for a #betterfuture . So proud of each individual showed up for this #realdeal Another sign I loved, my dear friend showed me that this woman was holding inspite of the cold and rain ☔️ was saying this #armsareforhugs so loved it so I had to put it here. As after all those wonderful speeches, among other #coolsongs #feelitstill from #portugaltheman did play, and obviously, we were all #dancing 😁 man what an awesome song, loved it when it first came out and still do✌🏼✌🏽goes like this:” Can’t keep my hands to my self (😂)...Ohh woo, I’m a rebel just for kids, now (yep👍) I’ve been #feelingit since 1968, now. Might be over now, but #ifeelitstill ....Let me #kickit like it’s 1986 now...We could fight a war for #peace ( #yeswecan) ✌🏽✌🏼✌🏾✌🏿...Stop flipping for my enemies....Might’ve had your fill, but you feel it still #yesyoudo 😁” here in #portlandoregon and that #portlandlife sooo #loveit😍 wait still #cantstopdancing ✌🏿✌🏼💃🏼✌🏽💃🏼✌🏾💃🏼✌🏿💃🏼✌🏼💃🏼✌🏽💃🏼✌🏾
The Wall (part one)
Built in 1961 it would stand and hold Eastern Germans at bay from fleeing the communist side of Berlin until 1989.
There were two walls with a DMZ like perimeter in between them. Numerous checkpoints were set up that would allow 1) East Germans to go visit relatives that were West Germans (similar to how North and South Korea facilitate the visiting of familes). 2) Western tourists would be allowed to enter as long as they exchanged their West German Marks for East German Marks. This helped facilitate the growth of the East German Mark.
There is a path of bricks on the ground that twists and turns outlying the place where the wall once stood. You can walk the perimeter of it. In some of the pics, you can see where the path runs into where a metro station now stands.
Lastly, a sign near checkpoint Charlie that warms you are entering the American sector.

Earlier this week I took part in FameLab South Africa a science communication and public speaking competition. The purpose of the competition was to present your research in a manner which would reach and be appreciated by public audiences.
Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the final, but I'm very grateful for all that I learnt about how to effectively marry science and communication and for all the different researchers that I had the privilege of meeting during the workshop. It was a welcome change of mental scenery and it really expanded my thinking.
FameLab South Africa is an initiative of the British Council of South Africa, in collaboration with the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA) and Jive Media Africa.

To be an immigrant in the US, it is quite difficult! Not a political issue but simply because #English is not our native language! For me personally, it was so hard to give public #speeches ! Every time I saw the microphone, I get cold feet! Always I was very nervous because of my accent! And I know there is a lot of people like me!
I just want to say that this is OK! And what is more important is what you want to convey to people and not, as you say! 🙌♥️
PS: Beginning voice classes at Susan Batson acting school next week! Who wants to join me ☺📣
