🔦Flashlight Friday was a big hit last week! I ordered a set of 100 finger lights several years ago in multiple colors on Amazon. The kiddos squeal with excitement every single time we use them. Swipe to see more pics. I’ll put the affiliate link in my profile 👉@2ndgradestuff.

Growth Mindset PD on this lovely student free day... A little refresher course considering I have already done this at my last College.
I’ve always loved putting my students’ names on the door every month using different themes. They just love looking for their new picture. When I saw these zombies, I knew I had a winner. Love how this door turned out...and I love our corny saying “5A is taking a bite out of learning!”
Just posted this in my tpt store for only $1.50 (50% off for 48 hours!). Head to ➡️ @caitscoolschool bit.ly/ZombieDoor
What’s on my Christmas Tree Great little Christmas craft up on our TPT. Easy to adjust for different abilities. Each child gets a certain amount of ornaments to decorate their tree and they need to add them up! 🎄
This week is one of my FAVORITE weeks of the year!! BAT WEEK!!! My classroom is now a bat cave, and I can’t wait to surprise my littles tomorrow!!! I’ll post pictures of my classroom this week! Stay tuned... 💜🦇
I saw this post on @bored_teachers and felt like I couldn’t relate more. As teachers, we all have those stressful weeks! Well that was last week for me. So, what did I do this weekend I followed this guide. I went on a HUGE shopping spree with my friends Saturday (I had to buy one children’s book- it was Charlie Brown, couldn’t resist😍) and Sunday I was relaxing watching football and halloween movies with my love. We all need to have weekends like this sometimes. I am in such a better mindset and ready to take on Monday. ☺️
Super simple and easy shape playdough mats are in our 2D and 3D shape pack.
Are you team candy corn or not 🤢 I confess, I’m not really a fan, however, I love using them for teaching fact families! This center is available in my store as well as in several bigger bundles including my Fall Centers Bundle that saves you tons! Link in profile! http://bit.ly/2ECRW5W
National Red Ribbon Week starts tomorrow & I’m so excited to see my revamp happening in so many different classrooms‼️
Last week my entire school swapped the week long themed days for a week of healthy challenges & spent the week learning the importance of making healthy choices! Our teachers, kiddos, & especially parents LOVED the upgrade! If you are interested in revamping your RRW this week check out my past few posts & highlight stories for more info! RRW Revamp link in my bio! ❤️❤️❤️
With MY favorite chef @komodofood
The food was DELICIOUS and the service was great!
Thank you so much, Ian 😘😘😘 You really need to go to brickell and find out for yourself how scrumptious everything is!!!😋
Mario says to reserve him another duck for next week cause it was out of this 🌎!!!
Be brave this week. Don’t let fear stop you from reaching for your goals. 💪🏼
October 9th was a great book birthday. These two beauties (plus Odd One Out by @nicstone which the bookstore didn’t have) were born, so of course, I needed to get them as soon as possible. The best surprise I’ve ever gotten (just kidding, but seriously) was finding a signed copy of What If It’s Us. I am pumped to get into these and hopefully share them with students in the near future! Now I just need to wait until Christmas when I’ll have enough time to read them. #worththewait 😍
This past Wednesday, my students were excited to see they would be #ConstructionWorkers during #Math. When the students got to class, they had to clock in and get to work. On their desk they found their #HardHats, #WorkBadge, Recording Sheet, and a bracelet that contained the formulas for Area and Perimeter. When it was time to begin, they were assigned a #ConstructionCrew and had to rotate between 5 different stations to solve for the area and perimeter of various rectangles that I had previously outlined with black tape. When all students were done, we went over the answers for each station. The students were so excited as they checked their work and saw their answers were correct. When the students were done and "knocked off" from work, they were paid in #CandyCorn (I chose this because it matched the color scheme, lol) and #Mathade, which was simply water, but they LOVED it! On their exit slip, some students stated that getting paid was their favorite part! The students also received an Area and Perimeter Certificate for completing the challenge! #TeachingWithMrsTriggs #InspiredByJoanneMiller #SetTheStageToEngage
Who’s ready to make the SHIFT with me!!
I am so EXCITED for the opportunity that’s been placed in front of me. Not only do I get to be apart of a TEST Group, but I get the chance to hand select a few people to experience it WITH ME!! In the test group, you will spend the next few weeks working on yourself through working out, nutrition, and getting your mindset in a better place.
We will be in the group with the creator himself, work on becoming a better version of ourselves, and what if I told you you could lose anywhere from 10-20 lbs BEFORE Thanksgiving!!
If you are willing to put in the work for the next 30 days putting in the work, healthy balanced nutrition, and a kickbutt group of supporter to get you where you want to be, would you

Swipe to check out how we gave ownership to the students for an inflectional ending anchor chart! They helped me use the headings on the chart to rewrite each word with the new ending. Now I can remove the sticky notes when we’re done and use this chart next year. 🙌 Next week we will do the same thing with various suffixes. #anchorcharts #studentmade
I was tagged by @kellycolleen2017 to do the #meettheteacher introduction so here it goes! • • •
1️⃣ I am a 4th year teacher, however in my 4 short years I have taught three different grade levels, in 3 different states. Needless to say, I have no intention of moving again anytime soon!
2️⃣ I am VERY much an intro-extrovert. Spending time in large groups gives me anxiety but I love going out with my close friends.
3️⃣ I love to travel! My boyfriend and I will be traveling to Europe this year for my winter break and I can’t wait! Send me any good recommendations for London, Paris, Amsterdam, or Zurich!
4️⃣ My siblings are some of my best friends. I have two sisters and a brother and we are all very close in age. We all live in different cities and across three states but whenever we get together it’s non-stop laughing and talking.
5️⃣ Country music is my jam! I just got my tickets for Stagecoach music festival and this will be my 7th year going 😬
6️⃣ I am a morning person and typically show up 2 hours before school starts every morning. But I’m out of there as soon as the contract day ends!
7️⃣ I love being active, especially if I can get outside. And taking my dog Joie with me is a bonus. Working out is very much a therapy for me.
8️⃣ I recently started getting into golf. It is both a satisfying and extremely frustrating game. •••
9️⃣ I got my bachelors degree in Psychology at UC Riverside and I absolutely loved it but decided to pursue teaching instead. •••
🔟 If I could afford it, I would be a life-long student. There are so many things I would love to learn more about! I have my M. Ed but would love to go back to school for Special Education, Speech and Language Path, or Graphic Design. 🤓
Let me know below if we have anything in common!!
I tag @lessons_and_lattes @aprilramiroguardado @teachnow_winelater @classroomperks @leaping.into.learning and YOU! Tag me so I can see your responses too!

⭐️Let me know something we have in common or a fun fact about you!⭐️
The past helps you be a better person. The past led me to provide my students with access to picture books in even in fifth grade. When kids are little they love picture books Why is it as kids get older than loose the love Why does our society believe the older you are the more pages you need to read ——————
I challenge you this week to find a picture book that will invite your students to think, but will also make them fall in love with picture books all over again!
Tomorrow I’m reading @susanverde I’m Human because teaching students about empathy is important to me. #reading #teachersfollowteachers #openthemagic #picturebooksaremyjam
Trunk or Treat was so much fun!
I’m sure a few teachers would like to read why #Monday is not just a lesson but an opportunity to touch a life!
There always seems to be that one teacher in a students educational journey that “Touches” their life not just their learning in a class.
What grade and teacher was that for you❓
This separating mixtures and solutions activity and foldable is so simple, and students love it! It’s available in my TPT! It includes a lab (and an editable version of the lab) as well as a vocabulary foldable. It’s suitable for students grades 4-6. Link in bio ❤️
