And you find “ the Space within the heart” thoug case on my Artscase shop link in bio 🌟
..found this tiny washed-up fragment of ceramic eroded by waves along the beach.. A message encoded in the form of a delicately etched figure under a large parasol from some languid and exotic moment.. right on cue..
Here's a little woodland rabbit with my baby breakfast bowl. It holds so much cereal it's no wonder I hate the stuff now.
Details: what I said before.
Day 21 of @joannehawker #marchmeetthemaker is Throwback so I’m throwing this back to the 80’s when apparently this picture of me must have been taken in a parallel universe. This photo was actually taken in 2016 at Joshua Tree music festival where I was probably the happiest I’ve been in my whole life. These things happened there; yoga, cheap amaretto, dancing, reading in the sun, music, a blasting foam soap gun man, laughing, sharpie tattoos, zero judgement, wild hair & Ed dressed in camo leggings.
Weird lil tester that I'm probably going to pick apart and make into a zippered pouch. But despite all the "failures" (I call them lessons) that mostly revolved around not enough seam allowance I also accomplished something I've been dreaming about for forever: Quilting circles with leather! ✨🙌🏼✨The circles are actually a lot more precise than they look but due to some miscalculations the seams on the circles won't lay flat in some places which gives it a wonky looking finish 🙄I really wish I didn't feel the need to explain that but also didn't want y'all thinking I forgot how to sew a circle 😏 ANYWAYS, it's a pretty big night for me ✨💅🏼 and if you want want to keep up with all of my leather projects follow @freddie.bags ▪️▫️▪️
Day 19 | Dream Collaboration
Thinking about all the talented weavers and makers all over the globe - but the one person who springs to mind is @frieda_strachan .
We met at the Etsy made local market last year and she is such a lovely person I could cry! I feel like we're on similar journeys with regards to our weaving and art so I think it would be really fun to meet up and bounce ideas off of each other and collaborate in a @crossingthreads style! Im imagining a huuuuuge piece! Go check out her page and follow if you're not already doing so ❤
Olha o floral do post anterior aí, minha gente! 🌷✌🏼
Sim!
Tudo é possível nesse universo estampado!

Here's a little peek into what my design process looks like, at least the small parts that look like anything. Sometimes the end product looks a lot like what I planned and sometimes it forms a life of its own as I work on it.
#IGquiltfest Quilts in the wild. My Passion For Color quilt among the azaleas today. Its peak pink season here this week. Since I quilted in wisteria and passionflower vines and leaves, the last shot is in the wisteria.
#MarchMeetTheMaker Design process. Starting with a photo I took in my yard, through fabric selection from fabrics that I dyed, to finished-size printout with lines drawn in red, to construction-basically putting a puzzle together, to threadpainting the flower petals, and a view of the backside. A background was added, and the piece was machine quilted and bound. Back Yard Beauty will be in its third quilt show on Saturday.
#MarchMeetTheMaker Dream collaboration. I'd love yo collaborate with s fabric company and design a line based on my fabric surface design.
#MarchMeetTheMaker Mistake or lesson: if its not coming out right, stop and try again. I had this partially quilted, and the quilting was not going well. Took it all out-you can see the threads stuck to the excess batting.
#IGquiltfest Thread: So, this happened a couple weeks ago. This is just the cotton; there is almost as much poly, plus a few silk and rayon. I'm a thread omnivore (threadivore). Anything the right color that works is awesome. I have Wonderfil, YLI, Aurifil, Signature, Mettler, Coats, Superior, Guterman, and probably something else. But no off-brand stuff. And lots of schoolboxes, great to keep dust off.
